DDV를 이용한 압력 제어시스템의 강인제어 (Robust Control of Pressure Control System Using Direct Drive Valve)

  • In this paper, it is proposed that the method for constituting pressure control system controlled by Direct Drive Valve (DDV). The DDV has a pressure-feedback-loop itself. It can eliminate non-linearity and uncertainty oi hydraulic system such as uncertain discharge coefficient and change of bulk-modulus. However, the internal feedback-loop can not compensate them perfectly. And fixed gain of the DDV's internal feedback-loop is not proper to apply it through wide pressure range. The steady state error and nonlinear characteristic of transient behaviour is observed in the experiment. So another controller is needed for the desirable performance of the system. To compose the controller, the pressure control system controlled by DDV is modeled mathematically and the parameters of the model are identified using signal-compression method. Then sliding mode controller is designed based on mathematical model. Desirable performance of the pressure control system controlled by DDV is obtained.

Gray Scale Plasma Display Panel with a New High-Speed Drive

  • The objective of this study is to evaluate the characteristics of a newly proposed high-speed drive method for the gray scale display for high-resolution plasma display panels(PDP). In the experiment it was found that the characteristics of gray scale display are not closely affected by a priming period below 50[${\mu}s$], the width of the priming period, and that it can be driven stably from the brightest sub-field to the darkest sub-field even though a priming discharge is applied to the 1 TV-field only once. Moreover, from the experimental result, the gray scale pattern of 8-bit and 9 sub-fields was stably displayed in the experimental PDP with scan pulses having the pulse width of 0.7[${\mu}s$]. An address voltage margin of about 25[V] and a sustain voltage margin of about 10[V] was obtained.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this paper is integrated tolerance design process by advantages of engineering design and 6 sigma statistical tolerances design. Methods: Integrated tolerance design process can determine the goals by using engineer's experience and clarify tolerance by 6 Sigma statistical methods. Integrated design process can be applied by using non-linear simulations. Results: We applied integrated design process to the optical disc drive spindle motor and get good result. Conclusion: If this method is applied test method in the early stages of development, then Design can be reduced development time and cost.

  • In this paper, the track pull-in behavior analyses in an optical disk drive (ODD) using plane phase is treated and the parameters affecting it are discussed. Track pull-in is the track capture procedure to do track following control and it is key factor to increase data transfer rate. Simulation method, Runge-Kutta method to solve nonlinear equation, is used to evaluate the track pull-in conditions, and the real servo loop parameters are applied in this process to get the more real condition. Finally, the comments for the acquired results are discussed briefly.

  • This paper proposes two base/gate drive suppression methods of NPC inverters. The first is the output current polarity detection type, which can be regarded as an extension of Joshi and Bose's method for ordinary inverters. But this method has difficulties in implementation. The second is the output voltage polarity detection type, which is easier to implement than the former. The base/gate drive suppression methods have the merit that it does not have the dead time problem, reduces the power loss of the driving circuit, and others.

Parameter Identification of an Induction Motor Drive with Magnetic Saturation for Electric Vehicle

  • This paper presents a simulation model and a parameter identification scheme of an induction motor drive for electric vehicle. The induction motor in automotive applications should operate in very high efficiency and achieve the maximum-torque-per-ampere (MTPA) feature even with saturated magnetic flux under very high torque. The indirect vector control which is typically adopted in traction drive system requires precise information of motor parameters, particularly rotor time constants. This work models an induction motor considering magnetic saturation and proposes an empirical identification method using the current controller in the synchronous reference frame. The proposed method is applied to a 22kW-rated induction motor for electric vehicle.

  • This paper presents an optimal design of a direct-drive permanent magnet synchronous generator for a small-scale wind energy conversion system. An analytical model of a small-scale grid-connected wind energy conversion system is presented, and the effects of generator design parameters on the payback period of the system are investigated. An optimization procedure based on genetic algorithm method is then employed to optimize four design parameters of the generator for use in a region with relatively low wind-speed. The aim of optimization is minimizing the payback period of the initial investment on wind energy conversion systems for residential applications. This makes the use of these systems more economical and appealing. Finite element method is employed to evaluate the performance of the optimized generator. The results obtained from finite element analysis are close to those achieved by analytical model.

  • 홈오토메이션 시스템은 보통 데이터 양이 많지 않아 저속 전력선 통신을 사용하는데, 저속 전력선 통신은 대역 확산 방식과 위상 변조 방식이 사용된다. 이 통신 방식은 신호의 정보가 진폭에 없고, 위상 변화에 있으므로 본 논문에서는 신호가 두 개의 상태로 되는 D급 증폭 회로를 사용하여 저임피던스를 가진 전력선 채널에서 적합한 통신이 되도록 하였다. 현재 전력선 모뎀에 사용되는 전압 구동 회로와 전류 구동 회로를 제작하고, 본 논문에서 설계한 D급 증폭 회로를 이용한 구동 회로와 비교 실험을 하였다. 실험 결과 본 논문에서 설계한 구동 회로가 다른 구동 회로보다 낮은 전력선 채널 임피던스에 대하여 전달 특성이 우수함을 보였다.

  • In this paper proposes a very simple method to estimate the rotor position of a switched reluctance motor. By on-line estimating the self-inductance of the motor, the rotor position of the SR motor is obtained, and a closed-loop drive system can be achieved. Proposed methods can easy implement to application with sensorless SR motor drive system. Speed 2000rpm SR motor simulation executed with self inductance estimation and result represented. Simulation result verified the rotor position using the proposed self-inductance estimation method.

  • SRM Drives generate large vibration and acoustic noise because it is rotated by step pulse mmf and switching commutation mechanism. The main vibration source of SRM Drive is generated by rapidly variation of radial force when phase winding current is extinguished for commutation action. So the rapidly variation of radial force is repressed firstly to reduce vibrating force of SRM Drive. This paper suggests the vibration reduction method that SRM Drive with unidirect-short compensation winding is excited by a two stage commutation method at commutation period. This reduction effect of vibration is verified with the result obtained in the test of prototype machine.
