  • Multiple people using places are being managed to prevent disasters by the special law for safety supervising of multiple people using spots. The KESCO is managing the places through intensification of inspection. Perfect safety is not insured by frequencyinspections because disaster symptoms in electrical facilities include invisible faults. Especially, entertainment spots, such as entertainment bars and karaoke bars, are different from other multiple people using places, and active reaction to prevent electrical fires is impossible. Therefore, special protection plans to prevent electrical disasters are needed. In this paper, equipments of entertainment spots were researched, and their electrical characteristics were analyzed. The function for detecting aloose terminal, which is one of the main causes of electrical fires, was developed.

  • In these days, as it frequently happens that water level in the river exceeds the design floods due to irregular heavy rainfall, so it is required, first of an, to manage with railroad bridge safely. Because train control criterion under heavy rainfall is still not prepared and automatic flood monitoring system for railroad bridges is not used, worry over invisible economic loss due to train passage delay is in existence. Therefore, it is important to secure the safety and detect the risk like turnover or failure of railroad bridges through systematic disaster prevention system. And the transition from conventional monitoring method to real time monitoring method supported by sensors and communication system with high technology is rapidly needed. This research is on developing the real time flood monitoring system which prevents railroad disasters in advance by detecting continuously the water level of railroad bridge through CCD camera and water level gauge.

  • The death from suffocation due to the gas from various disaster is frequent very and it occurs. Specially only from the company which treats the gas and only the enterprise which maintains the gas the many greeting accident occurs. Also accidents could occur when working around the toxic gas without one's noticing Therefore a development of the portable gas ditectoror is very essential. Specially with development of design and the new product of the electric chemical sensor might help reducing the many accidents. From the side which protects a worker's life, it isn't just simple equipment but also it must be connected directly to life saving is very important. Therefore, the key technical contents of development must be focused on sensor which is simple and easy to carry and able to detect varieties of toxic gas. So, this study is about the product design which is simple and easy to carry and to use.

  • This paper deals with the paddle type end of arm tool for rescue robot instead of rescue worker in dangerous environments such as fire, earthquake, national disaster and defense. It is equipped at the dual arm manipulator of the rescue robot to safely lift up an injured person. It consists of the paddle for lifting person, sensors for detecting insertion of person onto the paddle, sensor for measuring the tilting angle of the paddle, and mechanical compliance part for preventing incidental injuries. The electronics is comprised of the DAQ module to acquire the sensors data, the control module to treat the sensors data and to manage the errors, and the communication module to transmit the sensors data. After optimally designing the mechanical and electronical parts, we successfully made the paddle type end of arm tool and evaluated its performance by using specially designed jigs. The developed paddle type end of arm tool is going to be applied to the rescue robot for performance verification through field testing.

  • Using a combination of nonlocal Eringen as well as classical beam theories, this research explores the thermal buckling of a bidirectional functionally graded nanobeam. The formulations of the presented problem are acquired by means on conserved energy as well as nonlocal theory. The results are obtained via generalized differential quadrature method (GDQM). The mechanical properties of the generated material vary in both axial and lateral directions, two-dimensional functionally graded material (2D-FGM). In nanostructures, porosity gaps are seen as a flaw. Finally, the information gained is used to the creation of small-scale sensors, providing an outstanding overview of nanostructure production history.

  • It is not an exaggeration to say that a single fire causes a lot of damage, so fires are one of the disaster situations that must be alerted as soon as possible. Various technologies have been utilized so far because preventing and detecting fires can never be completely accomplished with individual human efforts. Recently, deep learning technology has been developed, and fire detection systems using object detection neural networks are being actively studied. In this paper, we propose a new fire detection system that improves the previously studied fire detection system. We train the YOLOv8 model using refined datasets through improved labeling methods, derive results, and demonstrate the superiority of the proposed system by comparing it with the results of previous studies.

  • This research was carried out to understand the impact of mountainous torrent on topographical change of slope and sediment volume within a deposit line by dredging of soil erosion control dam. Terrestrial LiDAR surveys were conducted at dredged and non-dredged sites. Terrestrial LiDAR has an advantage on detecting topographical changes easily without demanding workmanship and technical skill for users. The distribution of erodible slope ($20^{\circ}-40^{\circ}$) was higher in non-dredged site than that of dredged site. However, the distribution was higher in dredged site than that of non-dredged site after rainy season. Erosion and deposition appeared regularly in a dredged site, but those occurred irregularly in the non-dredged site. The inflow of soil per square meter was 1.7 times higher in dredged site than that of non-dredged site after rainy season. The difference of rainfall in each site did not affect to soil erosion. The distribution of erodible slope was increased in dredged site than that of non-dredged site after rainy season due to inflow of soil from upper stream caused by dredging.

  • This paper proposes a method to detect and monitor the land creeping area using a UAV to analyze the damaged area efficiently. Using a UAV, it was possible to secure the safety of the investigators before the field survey and effectively utilize it to establish an investigation plan because an orthophoto can be used to detect and scale the cracks in a land creeping area. In addition, it was possible to analyze the scale of the crack quantitatively by extracting the topographic information from the orthophoto. The study sites were found to have a total crack area of 1.01 ha, a length of 1.07 km, an average width of 10 m, and a step distance of 1 to 10 m. Periodic UAV measurements can be used to detect displacements on the land creeping area and monitor the direction and scale of crack spread. Therefore, it is expected to be used effectively during recovery planning. Applying the UAV to the land creeping area resulted in the qualitative and quantitative results quickly and easily in dangerous mountainous watersheds. Therefore, it is expected that it will contribute to the development of related industries because of the high availability of a UAV in forest soil sediment disasters, such as landslides, debris flow, and land creeping area.

  • Hepatitis A virus (HAV) infection leads to acute liver failure and death through the intake of contaminated food. The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) has been used to detect HAV in food samples. HAV detection takes a long time, however, due to the virus concentration step required before PCR assay. In this study, a rapid method of detecting the HAVs present in lettuce using immunomagnetic separation combined with quantum dots (IMS-QDs) assay was developed. The detection limit of IMS-QDs for HAV was 10 $TCID_{50}/mL$, similar to the result that was obtained using RT-PCR combined with PEG or IMS. The application of IMS-QDs assay completed the viral detection within one hour, but this was not possible using PEG combined with RT-PCR. In conclusion, IMS-QDs assay is a rapid and efficient method for detecting HAV at a low concentration in agricultural products.
