  • This study investigates the gaps between ideal and actual corporate social responsibility (CSR) by comparing levels of CSR perceptions and examining the relationship differences between CSR perception, perceived quality, and affective trust from a consumer perspective. Data from 315 adult samples were collected through a nationwide online survey. In order to compare ideal and actual CSR, the study employed the approach of latent means analysis (LMA) and multi-group comparisons within the framework of a structural equation modeling (SEM). The result of latent means comparison showed significant differences of perceptions on fashion CSR across ideal and actual contexts. Only actual economic CSR was evaluated higher than in the ideal context and the effect size of inter-management CSR was the largest among seven domains. Multi-group SEM revealed a significant discrepancy between ideal and actual CSR structural models that exhibited relationships of CSR perception, perceived quality, and affective trust. The paths from internal management and ethical CSR to perceived quality and from economic and philanthropy CSR to affective trust were different across ideal and actual contexts. Implying the understanding of consumer CSR perceptions and the mediating role of perceived quality, this study suggests that marketers narrow the gap between ideal and actual CSR.

Demographic characteristics of subjects, perceptions and acceptances related to kimchi were surveyed by self-developed questionnaires. Exactly 54.1% of subjects ate kimchi more than once per day, whereas 2.8% of subjects never ate kimchi. With regard to location, the home showed the highest percentage. Exactly 94.3% of respondents answered that eating kimchi was good for health. For acceptance, 86.9% of respondents answered that they liked kimchi. Reasons for liking kimchi were texture and special taste in order, whereas the most common reason for disliking was spicy taste. Baechu-kimchi (Chinese cabbage kimchi) was highly preferred, whereas pa-kimchi (green onion kimchi) was not. Subjects with an extended family preferred oisobagi (cucumber kimchi). There were significant differences between the groups with balanced dietary habits and unbalanced dietary habits in terms of acceptance for chonggak-kimchi (small radish kimchi), yeolmu-kimchi, kkadugi, mulkimchi (watery kimchi) and oisobagi. Elementary school students in Jecheon area recognized the importance and necessity of kimchi in Korean meals. Exactly 23.7% answered spicy taste as the reason for liking reason while 37.3% answered spicy taste as the reason for disliking. These results suggest that various kinds of kimchi need to be developed for elementary students with different levels of spiciness in addition to continuous nutrition education about balanced dietary behaviors at school and home.

  • Students' engagement is very important for effect science learning. Multidimensional approaches on students' engagement defines engagement in three ways which includes cognitive, behavioral, and cognitive engagement. Based on the multidimensional approaches on students' engagement, this study identified latent groups of elementary students characterized by patterns of cognitive, behavioral, and emotional engagement in science classes. This study also compared students' perceptions of their engagement in general science classes and small-group activities by the latent groups. 377 elementary students were involved in this study. 5-scale Likert survey were used in order to investigate students' engagement in science classes. Latent class analysis using Mplus program identified 3 latent groups of students engagement in science classes: Highly engaged, moderately engaged, and minimally engaged in three ways of engagement. The mean scores of cognitive, behavioral, and emotional engagement were significantly different by three latent groups. In addition, there were significant difference in students perceptions on participating experiments activities and carefully listening of teacher among latent groups. However, there was no significant difference in students' perceptions on their actions during small-group activities. Educational implications were discussed.

  • The prevalence of We-Media short videos has attracted emerging independent fashion designers (EIFD), a new force in the fashion industry directing their brand promotion to We-Media for amassing online followers. However, compared to famous content generators, EIFDs' creative, design-based visual appeal has not provided them with the significant edge. The former's success is admittedly supported by the platform backstage algorithm. Yet, the content is the cornerstone for building relationship between the sender and the reception. The authentic perception of the content is one of the basic appeals for which the audience chooses to follow the source. Therefore, with the EIFD short video as the research content, this study is established from the audience's perspective to understand the different dimensions of their authentic perceptions of EIFDs short video. The study was conducted mainly in the form of the Q method. The collection of 52 Q samples were realized through the Focus Group Interview and literature review on multidimensional authenticity. Thirty-six subjects participated in the sorting of the Q-sets. Finally, four dimensions of audience authenticity perceptions of EIFDs were derived: 'ingenuity', 'relevant', 'transparent', and 'experiential'. The corresponding short video content design strategies are suggested for effective communication of EIFDs and their personal brands.

  • This study investigated the relationships among 'integrative creativity', 'creativity in scientific humor', and 'perceptions of educational benefits for making scientific humor' of elementary students. To do this, five graders (n=42) at an elementary school and five graders (n=38) at a gifted science education institutes in Seoul were selected. Tests for 'integrative creativity', 'creativity in scientific humor', and 'perceptions of educational benefits for making scientific humor' were then administered. Analysis of the results revealed that the scores for some subcategories of 'creativity in scientific humor' were positively correlated with those for 'integrative creativity', especially for 'creative motivation (e.g., curiosity and playfulness)' and 'creative potency (e.g., knowledge, imagination, sensitivity, flexibility, and fluency)' more than 'creative attitude'. The subcategories of 'integrated creativity' that were significantly related to 'creativity in scientific humor' were somewhat different according to the subcategories of 'creativity in scientific humor'. The scores for all subcategories of 'perception of educational benefits for making scientific humor' were not significantly correlated with those for almost all subcategories of 'integrative creativity' and 'creativity in scientific humor'. Educational implications of these findings are discussed.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate perceptions and globalization of Korean food among university students with food related majors. Self-administer questionnaires were completed by 386 students, and data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA and regression analysis. The students in food-related majors had positive perceptions of Korean food. They had perceptions of Korean foods as 'fermented foods', 'seasonal foods', and 'medical foods' and have 'various spices'. Most students agreed that Korean foods need to be 'creatively transformed' and 'localized' in order to globalize successfully. Localization, fusion and creative transformation of Korean food are more important than simple adherence to traditional Korean food. There were statistically significant differences in perception between students in different majors. Students majoring in traditional Korean cuisine showed a more positive perception and attitude toward globalization of Korean food.

  • This study examines socio-demographic characteristics of married couples and their desire for a second child. Questionnaires were completed by 355 married men and women who have only one child currently. The participants were classified into four groups by their desire, or a lack thereof, for a second child. Group I consisted of married people who wanted to have another child, and whose spouse wanted the same. Members of Group II were in a marriage where only the wife wanted to have another child. Members of Group III were in a marriage where only the husband wanted a second child. Group IV consisted of participants who did not want another child, and whose spouse agreed with thor The research questions were (1) how different those four groups are in terms of socio-demographic characteristics, (2) what are the reasons to stop having children and to have another child, and (3) what are the perceptions of the current low fertility rate in Korea, and the policies designed to increase birth rata The results indicate that wife' age, husband's educational level, expectant level of household economy, age at marriage, marriage duration and the time length between marriage and birth of the first child were significantly different among the four groups. The reasons to stop having children were expected constraint of privacy and time, physical and psychological burden and economic pressure. The most pronounced reason for wanting another child was the desire to give their first child a sibling. Group III had more serious disagreement about having another child than did Group II. There were significant differences among the four groups in the perceptions of possible consequences of the low birth rate. These perceptions included: undermined competitiveness of the nation and weakened family ties.
