  • A concrete disign of memory circuit is presented aiming at the application of sliding diagonal test patterns. A modification of sliding diagonal test pattern includes the complexity reduction from O(n$^{32}$) to O(n) using parallel test memory concept. The control circuit design was based on delay-element, and verified via logic and circuit simulation. Area overhead was evaluated based on physical layout using a 0.7 micron design rule resulting in about 1% area increase for a typical 16Mbit DRAM.

  • We propose a criterion for testing homogeneity of diagonal covariance matrices of K multivariate normal populations. It is based on a factorization of usual likelihood ratio intended to propose and develop a criterion that makes use of properties of structures of the diagonal convariance matrices. The criterion then leads to a simple test as well as to an accurate asymptotic distribution of the test statistic via general result by Box (1949).

  • This paper introduces an approach of method to compensate accuracy error of diagonal direction. The measurement of squareness error is an important parameter in performance test of two axis Linear Motor and this exerts influence on accuracy error of diagonal test. However, previous knowledge management approaches are limited in deviation measurement of optical axis or restrictive elements of diagonal measurements using laser interferometer. But this proposed method calculated diagonal accuracy error which was occurred by squareness error and compensated squareness error using orthogonal correction method of PMAC. From this result, diagonal accuracy error is significantly reduced. This experimental results show that geometric error of squareness error is easily corrected by dynamic coordinate correction.

  • Six reinforced concrete shear wall, constructured with fully rigid, slit, and infilled types, were tested under both vertical and cyclic loadings. Experimental programs were carried out to evaluate the seismic performance of such test specimens, such as the hysteretic behavior, the maximum horizontal strength, crack propagation, and ductility, under load reversals. All the specimens were modeled in one-third scale size. Based on the test results, the following conclusions can be made. For the diagonal reinforced slit and infilled shear wall specimens, it was found that the failure mode shows very effective crack control and crushing due to slippage prevention of boundary region and reduction of diagonal tension rathar than the brittle shear and diagonal tension failure. The ductility of specimens designed by the diagonal reinforcement for the slit and infilled shear wall was increased 1.72~1.81 times in comparison with the fully rigid shear wall frame. Maximum horizontal load-carrying capacity of specimens designed by the diagonal reinforcement ratio the slit and infilled shear wall was increased respectively by l.14 times and l.49 times in comparison with the standard fully rigid shear wall frame.

  • In order to apply the design method of diagonal flow fan based on axial flow design to the design of radial-outflow type diagonal flow fan which has lower specific speed of 600-700 [$min^{-1}$, $m^3/min$, m], radial-outflow type diagonal flow fan which specific speed was 670 [$min^{-1}$, $m^3/min$, m] was designed by a quasi three-dimensional design method. Experimental investigations were conducted by fan characteristics test, flow surveys by a five-hole probe and a hot wire probe. Fan characteristics test agreed well with the design values. In the flow survey at rotor outlet, the characteristic region was observed. Two flow phenomena are considered as the cause of the characteristic region, one is tip leakage vortex near rotor tip and another is pressure surface separation on the rotor blade.

  • Objective of this study is to understand the diagonal reinforcement around openings on the control of diagonal crack, load distribution, and ultimate strength of reinforced concrete two-span continuous deep beams. Test results of four specimens showed that the strength lost by openings might be completed when diagonal reinforcement ratio was above 0.0014.

  • Concrete masonry prisms are strengthened with steel fiber-reinforced mortar (SFRM) overlay and tested for compressive and diagonal tension strength. Masonry prisms are produced in poor condition considering standard workmanship for masonry buildings in Korea. Amorphous steel fibers are adopted for SFRM, and appropriate mixing ratios of SFRM are derived considering constructability and strength. Masonry prisms are strengthened with different fiber volume ratios, while numerous strengthened faces and additional reinforcing meshes are produced for compression and diagonal tension tests. Compression and diagonal tension strength are increased by up to 122% and 856%, respectively, and the enhancement effect for diagonal tension strength was superior compared to compression strength. Finally, the test results and strength prediction equations based on existing literature and regression analysis are compared.

  • A set of tests were accomplished in order to get better insight of the basic material properties of masonry made of normal concrete brick and different type of mortar compositions. Three different types of test were performed. Masonry unit and prism were tested by compressive strength test, Masonry wallets were tested by compressive strength test. Masonry wallets were tested in diagonally under tension. A significant influence of different mortar compositions on compression strength of masonry prism was observed, The tests have shown that for diagonal compression three different mode of failure were possible : tension crack along the loaded diagonal sliding along a mortar joint and combined sliding and diagonal crack according to the adhesive strength of a mortar.

  • Investigations on the behavior of steel fiber reinforced high strength concrete beams subjected to predominant shear are accomplished to determine their diagonal shear strength including ultimate shear strength. The parameters varied were the volume fraction(Vf) of the fibers, shear span depth ratio(a/d). The test result show that diagonal shear strength and ultimate shear strength are increased siginificantly due to crack arrest mechanism. Predictive equations are suggested for evaluating the diagonal cracking strength and ultimate shear strength of the fiber reinforced high strength concrete beams.

  • All over the Republic of Korea, there are many masonry buildings which have been built since 1970s. When the earthquake at Po-Hang occurred, this is the main cause of huge damage because the masonry buildings have not seismic capacity. When masonry buildings are failed, two type of the failure modes can be shown, which are in-plane mode and out-plane mode. In-plane mode can have seismic capacity in masonry so diagonal shear test is performed in this study. The purpose of this study was to find the best way to reinforce the materials through the diagonal shear test. Through the test, shear stress and shear modulus of elasticity will be calculated, referred to the ASTM E 519-02. The variables in this test are ${\phi}3$ wire, three types of wire meshes, polypropylene strap and different types of brick. Each variable is applied to the same condition of the $1.2m{\times}1.2m$ masonry walls which are made by ASTM E 519-02. Compared to each variable with shear stress and shear modulus of elasticity, the best way of reinforcing method to have seismic capacity will be proved in this study.
