  • We characterize QB-ideals of exchange rings by means of quasi-invertible elements and annihilators. Further, we prove that every $2\times2$ matrix over such ideals of a regular ring admits a diagonal reduction by quasi-inverse matrices. Prime exchange QB-rings are studied as well.

  • This paper consider a new weighted model reduction using block diagonal solutions of Lyapunov inequalities. With the input and/or output weighting function, the stability of reduced order system is quaranteed and a priori error bound is proposed. to achieve this, after finding the solutions of two Lyapunov inequalities and balancing the full order system, we find the reduced order systems using the direct truncation and the singular perturbation approximation. The proposed method is compared with other existing methods using numerical example.

  • A concrete disign of memory circuit is presented aiming at the application of sliding diagonal test patterns. A modification of sliding diagonal test pattern includes the complexity reduction from O(n$^{32}$) to O(n) using parallel test memory concept. The control circuit design was based on delay-element, and verified via logic and circuit simulation. Area overhead was evaluated based on physical layout using a 0.7 micron design rule resulting in about 1% area increase for a typical 16Mbit DRAM.

  • Let R be a ring, and let $\Psi$(R) be the ideal generated by the set {x $\in$R | 1 + sxt $\in$ R is unit-regular for all s, t $\in$ R}. We show that $\Psi$(R) has "radical-like" property. It is proven that $\Psi$(R) has stable range one. Thus, diagonal reduction of matrices over such ideal is reduced.

  • We introduce, in this article, the quasi-stable exchange ideal for associative rings. If I is a quasi-stable exchange ideal of a ring R, then so is $M_n$(I) as an ideal of $M_n$(R). As an application, we prove that every square regular matrix over quasi-stable exchange ideal admits a diagonal reduction by quasi invertible matrices. Examples of such ideals are given as well.

  • This paper proposes a routing model based on the HVHD for four-layer routing problems. Differing from the HVHV and HVHH models, the proposed HVHD model permits diagonal routing on the fourth laye rwith a grid of 45.deg., 90.deg. and 135.deg. directions. The developed algorithm which uses a channel-graph including weights routes a layer using diagonal model and the othe rthree layers using HVH model. Applications to several benchmark examples verify that approximately 10~25 percent reduction of channel density can be achieved compared to the conventional four-layer channel routing algorithms.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop and evaluate the structural performance of various shear walls, such as the hysteretic behavior, the maximum horizontal strength, crack propagation, and ductility etc. under load reversals. For the diagonal reinforced slit and infilled shear wall specimens, it was found that the failure mode shows very effective crack control and crashing due to slippage prevention of boundary region and reduction of diagonal tension rather than the brittle shear and diagonal tension failure. The ductility of specimens designed by the diagonal reinforcement for the slit and infilled shear wall was increased 1.72~1.81 times in comparison with the fully rigid shear wall frame. Maximum horizontal load-carrying capacity of specimens designed by the diagonal reinforcement ratio the slit and infilled shear wall was increased respectively by 1.14 times and 1.49 times in comparison with the standard fully rigid shear wall frame.

  • Six reinforced concrete shear wall, constructured with fully rigid, slit, and infilled types, were tested under both vertical and cyclic loadings. Experimental programs were carried out to evaluate the seismic performance of such test specimens, such as the hysteretic behavior, the maximum horizontal strength, crack propagation, and ductility, under load reversals. All the specimens were modeled in one-third scale size. Based on the test results, the following conclusions can be made. For the diagonal reinforced slit and infilled shear wall specimens, it was found that the failure mode shows very effective crack control and crushing due to slippage prevention of boundary region and reduction of diagonal tension rathar than the brittle shear and diagonal tension failure. The ductility of specimens designed by the diagonal reinforcement for the slit and infilled shear wall was increased 1.72~1.81 times in comparison with the fully rigid shear wall frame. Maximum horizontal load-carrying capacity of specimens designed by the diagonal reinforcement ratio the slit and infilled shear wall was increased respectively by l.14 times and l.49 times in comparison with the standard fully rigid shear wall frame.

  • The out-of-squareness is one of the error sources that affect the positioning accuracy of machine tools and coordinate measuring machines. Laser interferometer is widely used to measure the position and angular errors, and can measure the squareness using an optical square. However, the squareness measurement using the laser interferometer is difficult, as compared to other errors due to complicated optics setup and Abbe's error occurrence. The effect of out-of-squareness mainly appears at the face-diagonal of the movable plane. The diagonal displacements are also affected by the position dependent geometric errors. In this study, the squareness estimation techniques via diagonal displacement measurement using the laser interferometer without an optical square were proposed. For accurate estimation and measurement time reduction, the errors selected from proposed discriminant were measured. Discrepancy between the proposed technique with the laser interferometer (with an optical square) result was $0.6{\mu}rad$.

  • In this paper, the grounding area of the latticed mesh grounding in the original spare is compared whith diagonal one. the $E_M$, $R_g$ and $L_M$ of the diagonal mesh grounding were more decreased than latticed ones. The principles that, the diagonal mesh grounding elements, and compared with the simulation results also the reduction principle are explained in this paper.
