Virtual reality can be applied well to product design and evaluation. A virtual design evaluation system for an automobile cabin was implemented on a desk-top virtual environment system. It has two frontal seats, a dashboard, a steering wheel, and various displays/controllers. Users can interact with these components as they do that with real ones. To verify the effectiveness of the virtual design evaluation system, 17 subjects participated in the evaluation procedure. The evaluation result showed that the stereoscopic vision enhanced the subjective reality of the virtual automobile cabin. Graphic details, design, and time lag were also related to the subjective feel for reality.

The most powerful analytical equipment usually comes at the cost of having the highest demand for space. Where electron microscopes has traditionally required a room to themselves, not just for reasons of their size but because of ancillary demands for pipes and service. The simple optical microscopes, of course, can occupy the desk-top, but because their performance is limited by the wavelength of light, their powers of magnification and resolution are inferior to that of the electron microscope. Mini SEM will sit comfortably on a desk-top but offers magnification and resolution performances much closer to that of a standard SEM. This new technique extends the scope of SEM as a high-resolution microscope, relatively cheap and widely available imaging tool, for a wider variety of samples.

This study aims to explore the relationship between the spontaneous interactions of office workers and their workspace layout. The spontaneous interactions are captured by the measures regarding the 'visual interaction' between workers in their desk layouts. The measures of visual interaction then are examined by means of the office layout or desk arrangement and the properties of work patterns according to the departments, such as general affairs, sales, research and development, and planning. The study finds four types of office layout ; Type 1 with low visual interaction between workers and high intensity of visual interaction, Type 2 with high visual interaction between workers and high intensity of visual interaction, Type 3 with low visual interaction between workers and low intensity of visual interaction, and Type 4 with high visual interaction between workers and high intensity of visual interaction. The study shows that the patterns of unintentional interaction between workers varies according to the property of work and office arrangement and it also argues that the patterns of office layout are different according to properties of work.

The purpose of this study is to suggest the color scheme based on the color image types through the color analysis of workstation furniture which is on the market. This color scheme of the workstation furniture is expected to be give the comfort to office environment when planning office. For this study, It is selected the three furniture firms that have a brand of office furniture and their web site that is showed color sample of furniture. The following researches are drawn based upon the purpose. First, the color image types of interior space is classified and the color image words that are suitable for each types is extracted based on the results of existing literature. Second, the distribution of its hue and tone is analysed after collecting the each firm's color sample of desk top, panel and chair. Third, the color image appearing in each furniture color is analysed by color image scale positioning. Forth, the color scheme of desk top, panel and chair is suggested by its color scheme palette. The result of this study is expected to help comfortable environment by providing the color scheme for selection of furniture color in work space. Not all color of each furniture is sufficient to be combined color scheme, the result is indicated that the color scheme of workstation by color image types is possible for color planning in office environment.

Uniform and integrated college desks and chairs have low efficiency of loading for transportation and delivery and low efficiency of storage for warehousing due to their simple uniform physical properties, thus increasing logistics costs for companies and decreasing their competitiveness. In an effort to overcome the limitations of previous studies, this study analyzed the stages of logistics for desks and chairs in college lecture rooms via the transportation route including the factory warehouses and local warehouses and via the delivery route from local warehouses by the region to the orderers including college lecture rooms. The study developed a model for the rationalization of corporate logistics by making a variable folding desk and chair capable of distance adjustment according to height to replace the uniform and integrated college desks and chairs in lecture rooms. A model was developed between the old uniform and integrated college desks and chairs and the new variable folding desks and chairs for three scenarios of cost development including product storage costs, transportation costs from the specialized factory warehouses to the local warehouses by the region, and delivery costs from the local warehouses to college lecture rooms as the orderer. For the generalization of the model, it was applied to each of the 90%, 95%, and 99% service levels.

This research is a preliminary study to find out the module of 20 students in a classroom. This research investigated the widths of passages in the 30 classrooms of 5 elementary schools in Namyangju City, Korea. The conclusions were as follows: First, the area of unit for 1 student was 650 (W) × 950 (D). Second, the desk placements for most classrooms were one-way types (87%), and group-study types constituted 13%. Third, the width between the blackboard and the very front desk was 2.17 m. The width of passage between the very back seat and the backside lockers was 1.32 m. The width of passage between the sidewall and the nearby desk was 0.8 m. The width of passage between the window and the nearby desk was 0.8 m. The average widths of 2 vertical passages between the desks were respectively 0.67 m and 0.68 m. Fourth, the area of the teacher was 2.1-2.25 m × 2.16 m = 4.5-4.8 ㎡.

This study is performed the design and production of the real hotel uniforms around the actual case. The purpose of the study is to research and develop the uniform design which is partially utilized for image integration. After reviewing and making up a theoretical background of general hotel uniforms, we designed I hotel's uniforms based on the uniform design process. Research Scope of uniform design is up to the development of it for practicians who have many opportunities to meet customers directly at front desk, banquet reservation office and restaurant. Based on logo of company C.I.(Corporate Identity) and symbol colors, the concept and an illustration according with I hotel are drawn up. Also design is planed and a real is produced. This like objective design development becomes the basis for building a uniform image suitable for C.I.(Corporate Identity) of hotel I and realizing a positive service. Also this study associated with the company would help the design development of corporate uniform.

The design concept of this dental clinic Interior design is emotional color expression for the medical facility. This dental clinic is showing off the new adoption of the Korean primary traditional color pallette for the medical interior design. The graphic wall of the corridor is strongly attracting the eyes of customers while wrapping the corridor wall and partition with rather unconventional primary colored graphic shaping a tooth. Also the vivid and the dynamic atmosphere are emphasized by using the red color in the treatment area and the powder room. For the space programing, I focused on the functionality of each space and the efficiency of the traffic line. Centering around the information desk, the principal traffic line Is divided Into the staffs' private movement and the public movement.

The classical control theory has been developed successfully for the design of a system controller and has evolved continually. Even though sophisticated simulation techniques and software packages are available, there is still some difficulty in the design of a complex system controller at the desk. So the trial and error method is sometimes used to design a new controller, but it requires excess time and cost. This paper suggests a controller design method through the experimental approach. The basic concept is to adjust gradually the design parameters of the controller to the simulation results and experimental data of a similar real system. This method will be a very useful and easy way to design an accurate and/or optimal controller for a real plant while reducing time and giving a good solution at a reasonable cost.

학교와 같이 대단위 교육을 수행하는 곳에서 필수적으로 사용되는 것은 강의실 의자이다. 소비자 중심적인 시대적 변화에 따라 많은 제품들이 다양한 소비자의 요구가 반영되어 출시되고 있으나, 강의실 의자는 아직 이러한 요구가 받아들여지지 않거나 무시되고 있다. 강의실에서 학생들이 가장 불편해 하는것은 자신의 신체치수에 적합하지 않는 강의실 의자이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 다양한 신체치수를 반영할 수 있는 가변형 강의실용 의자를 개발하고자 한다. 신체치수는 앉은키와 체형을 고려하여 앉고 일어서는데 불편함이 없도록 책상 접힘과 의자와의 거리조절이 가능하고, 사람의 신장에 따라 높낮이 조절이 가능한 구조로 설계하여 기존의 평균책상 사이즈에 구애받지 않고 사용자의 신체구조에 따라 자유롭게 조절시켜 장시간 의자에 앉아 있을 때 불편함을 개선하고 불균형한 자세 등을 교정시켜 줌으로써, 학업 시 바른 자세를 유도하며 학업능률을 향상시킬 것으로 기대한다.
