외부치장적벽돌 벽체에 대한 콘크리트 보강브라켓의 보강효과에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Strengthening effect of Concrete Reinforcement Bracket on the External Clay Brick Wall)

  • The masonry structure is constructed by cement mortar binding material of brick objects and uses reinforced hardware (connected hardware or wall tie) together when building. However, over time, the corrosion of reinforced steel and the deterioration of joint mortar as well as bricks cause the risk of collapse. In particular, when the externally decorated brick wall is installed on the concrete girder for each floor, the angle bracket is not constructed or corroded, the full-layer weight load is applied to the wall of 0.5B, which is an example of full-scale or collapse. The purpose of this study is to provide numerical information on the reinforcement design by experimentally studying the structural performance of concrete reinforcement brackets that reinforce the vertical load of the exterior wall.

보강용 복합 지오텍스타일의 장기성능 평가 (Evaluation of Long-Term Performance of Composite Geotextiles for Reinforcement)

  • 부직포와 결합한 보강용폴리에스터 직포 지오텍스타일을 제조한 다음 크리프 시험결과로 부터 허용인장강도를 구하였다. 설계 및 시공을 고려한 안전율로 부터 장기설계인장강도를 구하였고 보강기능을 조사하기 위하여 지오그리드와 복합 직포 지오텍스타일의 장기거동을 비교하였다. 실험결과로 부터 보강용 직포 지오텍스타일이 지오그리드와 같은 충분한 보강성능이 있음을 확인할 수 있었고, 향후 추가실험을 통하여 복합 직포 지오텍스타일의 우수한 보강성능이 지속적으로 검증되어야 할 것으로 생각된다.

  • Busan's Haeundae Resort project, which is currently being constructed by POSCO E&C, comprises the 101-story Landmark Tower and two 85-story residential towers. Presently, foundation and basement construction is complete, with a final completion date set for 2019. Considerations about the construction and design of the three reinforced concrete high-rise buildings will be discussed in this paper.

신장성에 따른 띠형 보강재의 인발저항 특성 (Pullout Resistance Characteristics of Strip-type Reinforcement based on Extensibility)

  • 본 연구에서는 띠형 형태의 보강재에 대하여 신장성에 따른 인발저항 특성을 평가하기 위하여, 강재스트립 및 띠형 섬유보강재를 대상으로 대형인발시험을 수행하였다. 또한 약간의 지지저항이 함께 발현되는 돌기형 강재스트립 보강재의 인발시험 결과를 마찰저항 보강재의 결과와 비교하였다. 단면적이 작은 돌기형 강재스트립 보강재는 지지저항에 기인하여 마찰저항만으로 인발저항이 발현되는 보강재에 비하여 우수한 인발저항 특성을 갖는 것으로 확인되었다. 그리고 단면적이 유사한 마찰저항 보강재의 경우에는 신장성 보강재가 비신장성 보강재에 비하여 우수한 인발저항 특성을 나타내는 것으로 평가되었다.

Shear strength of reinforced concrete dapped-end beams

  • In this study, 24 high-strength concrete dapped-end beams were tested to study the effects of the amount of main dapped-end reinforcement, the nominal shear span-to-depth ratio, and the concrete strength on the shear strength of dapped-end beams. Test results indicate that the shear strength of dapped ends increases with the increase in the amount of main dapped-end reinforcement and the concrete strength. The shear strength of dapped-end beam increases with the decrease of nominal shear span-to-depth ratio. A simplified method for determining the shear strength of reinforced concrete dapped ends is also proposed in this paper. The shear strengths predicted by the proposed method and the approach of PCI Design Handbook are compared with test results. The comparison shows that the proposed method can more accurately predict the shear strength of reinforced concrete dapped-end beams than the approach of PCI Design Handbook.

Repaired concrete columns with fiber reinforced thixotropic mortar: experimental & FEA approach

  • Following previous studies, the current paper describes the results of an experimental program concerning the repair of reinforced concrete columns by thixotropic pseudo plastic mortar, preformed to analyze and quantify the influence of initial construction damage to the behavior of the repaired element. Five columns (section scale 1:2) were designed according to the minimum requirements of reinforcement of ductility orientated codes' design with variables the percentages of initial construction damages. All were tested in axial compression with repeated cycles up to failure. For comparison reasons, another one of the same characteristics, yet healthy, was constructed and tested as a reference specimen. A numerical study (Finite Element Analysis) was conducted for further investigation of the behavior of the thixotropic mortar as repair material. The results indicate that: a) surpassing a specific amount of damage, columns even suitably repaired present lower strain capacity, b) finite element analysis present the same way of deboning of the repaired material taking into consideration the buckling of the reinforcement bars.

Retrofitted built-up steel angle members for enhancing bearing capacity of latticed towers: Experiment

  • Many existing transmission or communication towers designed several decades ago have undergone nonreversible performance degradation, making it hardly meet the additional requirements from upgrades in wind load design codes and extra services of electricity and communication. Therefore, a new-type non-destructive reinforcement method was proposed to reduce the on-site operation of drilling and welding for improving the quality and efficiency of reinforcement. Six built-up steel angle members were tested under compression to examine the reinforcement performance. Subsequently, the cyclic loading test was conducted on a pair of steel angle tower sub-structures to investigate the reinforcement effect, and a simplified prediction method was finally established for calculating the buckling bearing capacity of those new-type retrofitted built-up steel angles. The results indicates that: no apparent difference exists in the initial stiffness for the built-up specimens compared to the unreinforced steel angles; retrofitting the steel angles by single-bolt clamps can guarantee a relatively reasonable reinforcement effect and is suggested for the reduced additional weight and higher construction efficiency; for the substructure test, the latticed substructure retrofitted by the proposed reinforcement method significantly improves the lateral stiffness, the non-deformability and energy dissipation capacity; moreover, an apparent pinching behavior exists in the hysteretic loops, and there is no obvious yield plateau in the skeleton curves; finally, the accuracy validation result indicates that the proposed theoretical model achieves a reasonable agreement with the test results. Accordingly, this study can provide valuable references for the design and application of the non-destructive upgrading project of steel angle towers.

콘크리트궤도 침하억제를 위한 파일네트공법 적용성 검토 (Application of Pile Net Method to restrain the Soft Ground settlement in Concrete Track)

  • The problems associated with constructing high-speed concrete track embankments over soft compressible soil has lead to the development and/or extensive use of many of the ground improvement techniques used today. Drains, surcharge loading, and geosynthetic reinforcement, have all been used to solve the settlement and embankment stability issues associated with construction on soft soils. However, when time constraints are critical to the success of the project, owners have resorted to another innovative approach. Especially, the design criteria of residual settlement is limited as 30mm for concrete track embankment, it is very difficult to satisfy this standard using the former construction method. Pile net method consist of vertical columns that are designed to transfer the load of the embankment through the soft compressible soil layer to a firm foundation and one or more layers of geosynthetic reinforcement placed between the top of the columns and the bottom of the embankment. This paper will present the guidelines for the design of pile net method to supported embankments. These guidelines were developed based on a review of current design methodologies and a parametric study of design variables using numerical modeling.

수직전단보강이 없는 PS 콘크리트와 현장타설 콘크리트 합성보의 전단강도 (Shear Strength of Prestressed PC-CIP Composite Beams without Vertical Shear Reinforcements)

  • 최근 들어, 지하주차장과 같은 모듈화 건물에 프리캐스트 콘크리트와 현장타설 콘크리트가 함께 사용되는 복합공법의 사용이 증가하고 있다. 일반적으로 프리캐스트 콘크리트는 공장에서 선 제작되기 때문에 재료의 효율성을 극대화하기 위해 프리텐션을 도입하여 사용한다. 현행 구조기준이 긴장력이 가해진 단일 단면의 전단 강도식은 제시하지만 긴장력이 가해진 프리캐스트와 현장타설 콘크리트 합성단면의 전단강도식은 제시하지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 긴장력이 가해진 합성 부재의 전단강도 실험을 통해 긴장력이 전단강도에 미치는 영향과 합성부재의 전단강도 산정시 고려해야할 사항에 대해 알아보았다. 변수로는 콘크리트의 면적비, 긴장재의 긴장력, 전단 경간비, 그리고 전단철근비를 고려하였다. 실험 결과를 분석해보면, 전단강도는 긴장력 크기와 긴장력이 가해진 단면의 면적비가 커질수록 증가하였고 전단경간비가 증가할수록 감소하였다.

고속 발사체와 충돌한 시멘트복합체의 보강재 종류에 따른 내충격 특성 연구 (Impact Resistance Characteristics of Cementitious Composites Subjected to High-velocity Projectiles with Reinforcement Types)

  • 본 연구는 현재 늘어나고 있는 수소 충전소 및 ESS 시설 등에서 예상치 못한 사고로 발생할 수 있는 폭발 위험과 이로 인한 구조물 방호 기술의 중요성에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 시멘트 복합체의 보강 방법에 따른 내충격 특성을 평가하여 구조물의 방호 설계를 위한 기초 데이터를 제시하였다. 실험결과 가장 기본적 구조재료인 철근콘크리트는 내충격 성능에 미치는 보강효과가 무근 콘크리트에 비해 약 20% 향상되는 것으로 나타났으며, 고속충격과 같은 빠른 하중에 대해서는 국부적 보강보다는 섬유와 같이 매트릭스 전체를 보강하는 방법이 효과적인 것으로 확인되었다.
