Contemporary architecture shows complex aspects of various design in form and material. Such trends even change classical materiality and this concept is believed to be the background of current ideas - digital, information, imagination with paradigm. This study inquires the general concept of dematerial. In the process searching for the forming basic background this study understands the characteristic. With characteristics drawn in chapter three, this study show the present status of the architectural expressions in the contemporary house in Korea under its dematerialized situation. And like this, we know fur study about the relation between dematerialization and current architecture, still more Korean present condition.

The concept of Space-time is performed while the movement of human Is imaged on coming 20th century up. Specifically it is considered that the movement of human is caused by the relativistic otherness rather than an absolute subject in space of deconstructive tendency. The purpose of this study is that I try to analyze an expression of relative space-time concept in desconstructive tendency and I have to get a concept how this kind of expression effect the contemporary commercial space. Through this study, I can get to know that the expression of relative space-time concept expresses the dynamic construction by the indeterminacy and the visual effect by the dematerialization in the contemporary commercial interior-space. According to the result of study, the concept of space get to be more meaningful, relative space-time concept and it can be attributed to the concept of human's new creative space over human's life in general.

Despite its relatively small size, at least compared to other architectural programs, the house figures large in the cultural imagination. Closely identified with the individual and nuclear family, it has been frequently considered as an expression of widely held, even universal, values. Conversely, the private house has also been emblematic of more subjective desires, that change not only from person to person but from generation to generation. Certain conclusions can be drawn about the status of the private house at the end of the century, both as cultural invention and as a product of the autonomous discipline of architecture. The contemporary loftlike living space is similarly associated with work, given its emergence as an alternative home for individuals wanting space in which to live and work. In the case of what might be called the "un-private house", it is ofen a digital presence and the change of family system. This study was conducted to define the un-private house through public/private. The architectural characteristics of un-private house are as follows; 1) Alternatives- large open space with multiple function and collective free plan 2) Dematerialization- steel and glass with visual openness and ambiguity 3) Digital & Interfaces- fold and screen using technology and program. Especially, the un-private house is designed to provide individuals with emotional, superficial, and synergistic space, focusing on the personal life-style.

Modern architecture and design show experiments that practice exchange and convergence with other genres through expansive thinking. This study aims to propose the use of graphic skins as a means of dematerializing and invisiblizing expressions of architecture. The method of realizing 'invisible architecture' can be largely divided into methods that use materials that manipulate light and graphic approaches based on trickery techniques. The exterior wall graphic of the special stage in Seoul Plaza can be said to be an attempt of dematerialization to make the building structure light and transparent, and a case to propose the role of super graphics to maintain the identity of the original place by erasing disharmonious elements from the field of view. It is expected that the graphic skin will be used as a powerful means of expression in the era of 'invisible architecture' as an effective camouflage method and media beyond the means of decorating the exterior walls of the completed facilities.

Currently, we are living in the era of digital media that puts the technologies in front which is called digital. Based on the characteristic of 'de-materialistic', human senses have been extended more than ever and there is no exception on those influences. Even though the existence of media seriously brought the identity and value of the painting into a question after the emergence of analog photos, advent of digital photos are raising the wind of new paradigms and values creation more seriously than ever. Unlike analog photos of the past which go through chemical process, true nature of digital photo goes through the digital process which is represented by 0 and 1. This didn't bring the loss of the original, but rather brought the creation of the copy which excels the original through retouching and consequently, destroyed the traditional value which is referred as an original. Like this, digital photo image has aesthetics and value of existence which is differentiated from analog photo because it has essentially different structures and characteristics with analog photo.

This study investigates the characteristic traits of architectural design of Toyo Ito, who has been acclaimed as one of the most famous present-day Japanese architects. Ito' architecture is generally known as media architecture for its specific natures such as lightness, dematerialization, extensive use of shiny glass, etc. In this respect, Ito's architecture is a radical departure from the tradition of the architectural modernism mostly represented by Le Corbusier. In this study, the architectural world of Toyo Ito is divided into four main section: the conversation between architecture and nature, the architecture of the wind, simulation, and virtual reality, Each of these categories is given full investigation together with appropriate architectural model fit into them.

Dematerialization of consumption is in a rapid process, in relation to the flood of information. Consumers do not want to buy a material goods any more, in the condition of excessive supply. In the past industrial society with massive production and consumption, only the unified consumers were produced. In informational society, goods are not regarded as a simple material, but as an Intelligence Merchandise. Specialty shops for life articles should reflect these consumer's trend and should keep the value of brand and goods. Visual Merchandising strategy which connect the expectation of consumers and company images, should be considered as a communication tools, and be presented in diverse and specified ways.

This study calculated the three indices of Korea's resource productivity (and raw material productivity), material circulation rate and decoupling factor to evaluate the sustainability of domestic economic activities and resource consumption and examine the extent of dematerialization. Korea's resource productivity improved 22% from 1.32 million KRW/ton in 2000 to 1.61 million KRW/ton in 2007, with the annual average growth of resource productivity during the period standing at 2.88%. Raw material inputs accounted for 73-76% of domestic material consumption (DMC); raw material productivity for the year 2007 was 2.11 million KRW/ton, growing 3% on annual average from 2000 through 2007. The wastes released are circulated into the economic system through recycling and energization. Korea's material circulation went up from 10.9% in 2000 to 15.6% in 2007, growing by an annual average of 5.3% during the period. The rate of change in year-on-year growth, however, was found to be on the gradual decrease. This study also showed that Korea's economic activities were decoupled with its resource consumption as the country heads toward dematerialization through sustainable resource management.

Modern society is diversified society and is under complicated situation as the boundary of each area has been disappeared. To understand and accept such complicated situation as widely as possible, it is required to understand interaction. of receiver with intertextual environmental arts as the structure of open text. This study examined interaction of environmental arts in terms of intertextual feature based on experience of receiver on combined element of different space and time, combination of genres. This is the concept of meaning personal experience or situation as receiver participates the process of completing art works, and set the fantasy, post-place and speciality of location and temporal-spatial expression method, as characteristics of intertextuality. Features of such experience elements are used as methodology of analyzing characteristics of each work. Feature of fantasy uses strategy of inducing spatial experience of receiver with dematerialization for post-place and expands the place where events occur with intervention of contingency and event situation. It suggests the spatial-temporal expression method as the features focusing on process and reflecting changes in spatial-temporal continuum and speciality of place emphasizing context of place. In conclusion, environmental arts needs to be deep rooted on complicated existence aspect of receiver beyond metaphysical dimension depending on presence and to accomplish conversion of awareness of supplying bisection of life from that place. By doing so, environmental arts can live textual life as it gets together with all other texts in terms of text dimension and creativity can be reborn as practical creativity in intertextuality rather than uniqueness. Such combination with other areas and acceptance of various aspects of receivers who see and experience this will result to creation of open works which can be create newly over and over again in multi-dimensional aspects.

The purpose of this study is to analyse the inclinations and expressions in contemporary architecture. Specially, we call this tendency and architectural movements as architectural metamorphosis. Metamorphosis in architecture present the core of the change of Forms and spirits in a change of outward shape and terrestrial identity. As in Ovid's extended dramatic poem of change and transformation, Metamorphoses, all Souls are deathless, and migrates from one form to another. Like these stories in Metamorphoses, Ovid tells the soul never dies, but leaps one form to anther, and can take any shape. So the architectural form, transformation and deformation in contemporary architecture means architectural sensations and cognitions can even approach the soul of form and shape under the transformation. The expressions and design strategies of metamorphosis in comtemporary architecture reveal continuous and sequential formations of space, linear structure with force and vector, rhythmical wavement and folding surface, lively wiggly flows of volumns and objects, and so on. Such qualities came from the periodical needs; separation of structure and surface, poly-surfacial movement, poly-sensual expression and experience, dematerialization and the dematerialized space, formless of non-formal architecture, digital architecture. Architecture of Metamorphosis is the ways and the needs of our period to overcome the static limits prohibits the liberal thoughts, to find the ways toward the opportunities and diversities and to unlock the imaginaire of the contemporary architecture.
