Four hundred forty-one mothers who have toddlers under 36 months-old were surveyed using a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using frequency and logistic regression. Results of this study were as follows: It was found that 30.9% of mothers were providing English education to their toddlers. They started English education when their toddlers were between 24 months and 36 months because of parents' decision or English education in child care centers. English education was mostly given to their toddlers once or twice a week, less than 30 minutes a time with Korean teachers who majored in English. English lessons were focused on simple dialogue using multi media, worksheets, and workbooks. In other sense, 66.0% of mothers showed a positive perspective toward English education for toddlers. The higher salary, years of education, and degree of agreement on English education based on physiological, linguistic, and social perspectives were, the stronger the demand on English education was. Results of this study suggested that appropriate guidance for English education for toddlers needs to be provided.

  • The purpose of this paper is to illuminate the role and importance of National Research & Education Network (NREN) in the national research and education field and to establish the future strategy of KREONET in Korea. To this end, we first carefully analyze the footsteps of NREN in major overseas countries, KREONET achievements, and future demand for KREONET. The history of NREN's development is divided into the 2000s, 2010s, and present by era, and classified into network infrastructure, network service, and next-generation network technology by subject. KREONET achievements are divided into advanced research support, network backbone and operation, and network service. Future demand analysis of users who use KREONET was conducted through Korea Research International Incorporation, a survey company. This paper presents the future development strategy of KREONET by analyzing KREONET achievements and future demand.

  • This study examined the levels and trends in the household expenditure in both public and private education. Between 1982 and 2000, the level of the total educational expenditure increased by 5% in each year on average, increased by 2.2% for public education, and by 11.4% for private education. On the public educational expenditure, the consumption expenditure elasticity was 0.2 and the price elasticity was 1.49. On the private educational expenditure, the consumption expenditure elasticity was 1.5 and became below 1 after 1998, and the price elasticity was 2.63. The results indicated that the educational expenditure was necessary rather than luxurious and there was excess demand for private education. The level of the educational expenditure would continue to increase without reforms both in the supply and demand sides.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a safety education program for elementary school students by comparing elementary school teachers and students on their demands for safety education. Method: The data were collected from 1,754 1-6th grade elementary school students and 335 elementary school teachers (6 elementary schools) using self- report questionnaires. Results: 1) The mean score for level of demand for safety education by elementary school teachers was 4.43 ({\pm}.44$) and for students, 4.01({\pm}.65$). 2) There was a significant difference in the level of demand for safety education between the elementary school teachers and students (t=-14.46, p=.000). 3) There were significant differences in the level of demand for safety education according to teachers' gender (t=-4.36, p=.000), teachers' concern about a safe life (t=5.14, p=.000), teachers' perception of a safe life (t=3.08, p=.002), students' gender (t=-3.89, p=.000), students' grade (t=5.06, p=.000), students' concern about safe life (t=13.09, p=.000), students' safe life practices (t=11.64, p=.000), students' previous experience of safety education (t=2.02, p=.045), and students' recognition of the importance of safety education (F=67.31, p=.000). Conclusion: To develop effective safety education programs for elementary school students, it is necessary to give precedence to demands and interest in safety education of the students.

  • While demand for construction engineering education at Cyber University is growing rapidly in a short period of time, there is a lack of research and evaluation on whether or not to develop in terms of quality. The purpose of this study is to identify the characteristics and motivation of the new and transfer students of the department of Construction Engineering at Cyber university and to identify areas that will be complemented in construction engineering education and to provide guidelines for providing better education through satisfaction survey on current education of new students, students and graduates of Cyber University. For the development of construction engineering education at cyber universities, the content of education needs to be differentiated from that of offline universities. In addition, new and transfer students should be able to achieve their goal of obtaining certificates and be provided with satisfactory education to become professional engineers. For students with diverse goals, a wide range of subjects ranging from basic to specialized courses should be provided so that they can select subjects that suit their goals.

  • The purpose of this study is to effectively implement the artificial intelligence education required in the digital transformation era. As we enter the era of the 4th industrial revolution, the demand for a great digital transformation in industry is essential, and the nurturing of manpower is presented as an indispensable relationship in the industrial field based on it. The integration of various new technologies that have emerged from the era of the 4th industrial revolution has the greatest purpose in realizing artificial intelligence technology. As the importance of digital competency in the top curriculum reorganization has been highlighted, artificial intelligence education is necessary even in the curriculum reorganization in 2022, and there is a demand in the educational field that it should be converted into a mandatory education in middle and high schools. Artificial intelligence education according to the demands of the times is to develop an artificial intelligence curriculum in universities by reestablishing systematic artificial intelligence education in universities, setting educational goals, and presenting the goals of artificial intelligence education by major. The main direction of this study is to present the relationship between artificial intelligence and each major in university education, develop a curriculum based on artificial intelligence for each major, and link artificial intelligence software for AI education customized for each major. We would like to present a process that can measure the learning outcomes of AI education.

  • The purpose of this study was to forecast demand of childcare teachers based ion four different scenarios. In order to, the demand for childcare teachers from 2015 to 2024 were forecasted using time series techniques with data on the number of childcare teachers from 2003 to 2014. Results were as followings. Firstly, the demand for childcare teachers was expected to increase until 2019, but after 2020 steadily decreased in terms of scenario 1(child teacher ratio regulation). According to scenario 2(child teacher ratio based on 17 cities and provinces), the demand for childcare teachers was expected to need 440 teachers more until 2016. Then, according to scenario 3(two teachers each class), Scenario 4-1(one teacher and one staff each 2 toddler class and 3 older class) and scenario 4-2(one teacher and one staff each class), the demand of childcare teachers and staffs were estimated. These results implicated that childcare teachers and staffs supply policy would be established according to forecast demand.

  • This study observes innovation demand in design education according to IT environment in change, and explores reasonable directivity of design education according to fluctuations in media and technologies by presenting academic possibility of interactive design field and its education paradigms for universities. In order to achieve highly added values through interactive design complying with social demand, accompanying researches and academic frames are to be prepared, in particular with independent academic domain frame in universities, this study presents an educational directivity by recognizing important establishments of related curriculum that must be proceeded. This study has made a contribution in addressing the necessity of establishment of individual academic domain for interactive design and also setting up the domain of interactive design. It has been concluded that technological understanding beyond conventional design education, management of complex issues in consideration, and methodology of differentiated education in corresponding to the situation needed as well as typical educations of conventional technologies should be provided for satisfying innovation demand in the domain of interactive design.
