Structural Damage Detection for Metal Panel Using Embedded Sensitivity Functions (내재민감도 함수를 이용한 단열타일의 손상 탐지 기법)

  • Vibration-based damage identification method using embedded sensitivity functions is discussed. The theory of embedded sensitivity functions is reviewed and applied to identify damage in a three degree-of-freedom system and a metallic panel. Embedded sensitivity functions are algebraic combinations of measured frequency response functions that reflect changes in the response of mechanical systems when mass, damping or stiffness parameters are changed. By comparing the embedded sensitivity functions with finite difference functions using undamaged and damaged frequency response functions, damage is shown to be properly detected, located and quantified in theory and practice assuming that structures of interest are only damaged in one location. Simulated and experimental results indicate that the technique is most effective when changes to frequency response functions are small to avoid distorsions in the estimated perturbations due to variations in the sensitivity functions.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference in elementary school children's human rights sensitivity and the perception of human rights depending on child variables, family variables, school variables, and predictive influences among these variables. The participants were 1,364 elementary school children in the 'Current Status of Korean Children's and Youth's Rights(2013)'. The results of this study were as follows: First, the variables influencing children's human rights sensitivity were school life experience, grade, the degree to which adolescents think they are respected in deciding family issues, gender, experiences of teacher's swear words, experiences of being neglected, and experiences of being bullied at school. Second, the variables influencing children's perception of human rights were gender, experiences of parents' swear words, school life experience, the degree to which adolescents think they are respected in deciding family issues, and father's educational achievements. The results of this study offered fundamental data about the important issues in researching children's rights and the policy implications for enhancing them.

Analysis of a Structural Damage Detection Using Sensitivity Analysis (감도해석을 이용한 구조물의 손상위치 및 크기해석)

  • This study proposed the analysis of damage detection due to the change of the stiffness of structure by using the original and modified dynamic characteristics. The present approach allows the use of composite data which consist of eigenvalues and eigenvectors. The suggested method is applied to examples of a cantilever and 3 degree of freedom system by modifying the stiffness. The predicted damage detections are in good agreement with these from the structural reanalysis using the modified stiffness.

  • This study predicts the sensitivity coefficient by the change of dynamic Characteristics of the Structure. The method is applied to examples of a cantilever and 3 degree of freedom lumped mass model by modifying the mass and stiffness. The predicted the sensitivity coefficient are in good agreement with these from the structural reanalysis using the modified mass and stiffness.

Formation of nickel oxide thin film and analysis of its electrical properties

  • Ni oxide thin films with thermal sensitivity superior to Pt and Ni thin films were formed through annealing treatment after Ni thin films were deposited by a r.f. magnetron sputtering method. Resistivity values of Ni oxide thin films were in the range of $10.5{\mu}{\Omega}cm$ to $2.84{\times}10^{4}{\mu}{\Omega}cm$ according to the degree of Ni oxidation. Also temperature coefficient of resistance(TCR) values of Ni oxide thin films depended on the degree of Ni oxidation from 2,188 ppm/$^{\circ}C$ to 5,630 ppm/$^{\circ}C$ in the temperature range of $0{\sim}150^{\circ}C$. Because of the high linear TCR and resistivity characteristics, Ni oxide thin films exhibit much higher sensitivity to flow and temperature changes than pure Ni thin films and Pt thin films.

  • We present the sensitivity calculation results for observing the Cosmic Infrared Background (CIRB) by the Multi-purpose IR Imaging System (MIRIS), which will be launched in 2010 as a main payload of the Science and Technology Satellite 3 (STSAT-3). MIRIS will observe in I ($0.9{\sim}1.2um$) and H ($1.2{\sim}2.0um$) band with a $4{\times}4$ degree field of view to obtain the large scale structure (${\sim}3$ degree) of the CIRB. With the given specifications of the MIRIS, our sensitivity calculation results show that the MIRIS has a detection limit of ${\sim}9\;nW\;m^{-2}\;sr^{-1}$ (I band) and ${\sim}6\;nW\;m^{-2}\;sr^{-1}$ (H band), which is appropriate to observe the large scale structure of CIRB.

  • This paper is concerned with a two-degree-offreedom control system design for a flexible arm, a two-degree-of-frecdom control system can achieve a robust stability specification and a control performance specification independently. By this property we improve the control performance with maintaining the same robust stability level as that of the onc-dcgree-of-freedom control system. At First we design a two-degree-of-fteedom control system which includes a feedforward controller and a feedback controller. The feedforward controller can be given by specifying a transfer function of a dcsired closed-loop model. We obtain a feedback controller by solving a mixed sensitivity problem. Several numerical results show that two-degree-of-freedom control systems acheive a better control performance than that of one-degree-of-freedom control systems.

  • This paper is concerned with fuzzy inference-based optimal sub-bands decision scheme which is to be embedded the watermark. It concentrated not only on design of fuzzy inference algorithm but also on human visual parameters (HVP), such as contrast sensitivity, texture degree. In the first, such human visual parameters as contrast sensitivity, texture degree as well as statistical characteristics are involved to select the optimal coefficients region. Secondly, fuzzy if - then rule which can be able to adapt the wide variety of environments is developed. The performance of proposed approach is evaluated with respect to the imperceptibility and correctness of watermark. According to some experimental results, contrast sensitivity function is superior in smooth image. On the other hand, statistical characteristics provide good results in rough images.

The Sensibility Image and Preference Degree of Pattern which Appeared on Men′s Clothing (남성복에 나타난 문양의 감성이미지와 선호도)

  • This study examined the trend of pattern which appeared throughout men's clothing fashion magazine from 1999 to 2002 and the influence which the demographic characteristic have on the sensibility dimension of pattern and the preference degree of kinds of pattern. The results of study were as follows. 1) The pattern which was used most frequently on recent men's clothing was a length stripe, and the representation technique which was used most frequently on recent men's clothing was the technique of a geometric expression. 2) The pattern which men and women preferred most out of ten kinds of patterns-length stripe, width stripe, oblique stripe, check, square, waterdrop, paisley, flower of style shape, flower of realistic shape, flower of shape-was a length stripe. 3) The sensibility dimension of pattern image was composed of fascination, dignity, daring, gentleness, and reality. 4) Because sensitivity dimension and kinds of pattern were significant according to the distinction of sex, vocation, academic career, income, this study can conclude the demographic characteristic have an influence on sensitivity dimension and kinds of pattern.

  • Cinnamoyl ester(PGEFC) of poly(phloroglucinol-formaldehyde) glycidyl ether which has photosensitive functional group was prepared to apply to photoresist. Photosensitivity of PGEFC was estimated by the solubility difference in organic solvent before and after exposure to light. The yield of residual film was calculated by immersing the sample-coated quartz plates in the solvent which was used in coating. The yield of the residual film which was closely related to the sensitivity of the film, was affected by the degree of polymerization of the backbone resin, sensitizers and their concentration. The sensitivity was depended upon the degree of polymerization. Most of effective sensitizer for PGEFC among the sensitizers was 2, 6-dichloro-4-nitroaniline.
