The objectives of this study were: a) to classify the rural women's roles according to degree of participation in farming and decision making, b) to find out the needs for support policy considering the role types, and c) to put forward the programs for supporting rural women according to their role types. This study was based on a literature review, empirical analysis, and opinions from a panel of experts and professionals including rural women in Korea. Based on the findings from this study, the following suggestions should be considered for supporting the rural women according to the types of their roles: 1) Government should enhance the support system for rural women in terms of policy and social system. Careful considerations on the status of woman farmers according to their role types should be reflected in the policy and social system. 2) Family cultural reform, farming helper system, reducing the housework burden, supporting educational expenses, and providing more opportunities for closer contact to the community actions and educational programs should be included in the support system. 3) Rural women's participation in various community action and educational programs should be encouraged by providing diverse incentives, appropriate information and educational supports designed to support woman farmers.

For planning and developing rural regions, it is very important to understand and utilize regional characteristics including social, demographic, and economic aspects. The purpose of this study is to find effective analysis techniques and provide a procedure design for mining regional characteristics in South Korea through reviewing and analyzing 41 related studies. The engaged research methods can be classified into five categories (PCA+CA, PCA, CA, GIS, and PCA+GIS) with the combination of three methodologies: principal component analysis (PCA), cluster analysis (CA), and geographical information system (GIS). The combination of PCA and CA occupied about 40 % of research methods used in related studies. The analysis tool of Korean Rural Information Supporting System (KRISS) is designed based on the outcomes of this study and applied to classify the regional capacity of agriculture using agricultural census data (2000) for evaluating its applicability.

Korea has introduced the levy-grand system in the vocational learning finance. The standard unit price system of training cost was utilized in the distribution of training budget and the reimbursement system including total or partial training cost return has been operated in the corporate training after completing the learning course particularly. The standard unit price was calculated in the base of analyzing on supporting budget by the government per training institutions and corporate payment decision to learning institutions. The proposing standard unit price system of training cost was analyzed in the current standard price unit of training cost and then an improvement policy and the implication are derived from it. At the result of this study, the current government supporting level to e-learning and postal distance learning indicates good status.

The widespread of IT technology caused a remarkable change in many industries and the construction industry is also one of them being influenced in the form of CIC(Computer Integrated Construction) and BIM(Building Information Modeling). Construction projects have many participants from various disciplines involved throughout the entire process. Therefore the success of the project greatly depend on the efficiency of decision-making using the information generated from each process stage. Looking from this aspect, the greatest potential value lies in the planning and pre-design stage when considering the construction life cycle. In this paper, we propose a project on developing a 3D object oriented simulation system for supporting the pre design phase. We define the needs for such system through previous case studies and suggest a to be process model. Finally we anticipate the effects that the project will eventually contribute to the construction industry.

Although mobile applications are an essential characteristic of wireless sensor networks, most existing media access control (MAC) protocols focus primarily on static networks. In these protocols, fixed periodic neighbor discovery and schedule updating are used to connect and synchronize neighbors to provide successful data transmission; however, they cannot adapt to mobile speed variation and degrade the network performance dramatically. In this paper, we propose a mobile-supporting mechanism for MAC protocols, in which the decision to update the neighbors of a mobile node is made adaptively according to the mobile speed. Analysis and simulation results demonstrate that the mechanism efficiently avoids the disconnection of amobile node from its neighbors and achieves a better performance as compared with fixed periodic neighbor discovery.

This study aims to identify the factors influencing the registration of managers or co-managers in agricultural management in the field of work and life of female farmers and to derive implications for expanding the registration of female farmers as managers and securing the status of women. In this study, binomial logit analysis was conducted with 1,043 questionnaire responses collected on&offline to achieve the research purpose. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the duration of farming, decision-making initiative, the experience of the supporting policies for farming activity, the activities of the crop group/research or female farmer's group, and the experience of supporting policies for self-development and leisure activities had a statisticallty significant effect on the registration of female farmers.

The early phase of construction projects, communication among the related participants has great influence on the further transaction of the projects. However, important decision making are made by the experience of the field managers in practice without the method for systematic analysis. For example, in building construction project, selection process for construction method has been executed by decision making of some architects dependent on their experience. As a result, there have been frequent construction method alterations during the construction process and delay of duration, addition of cost, etc have followed accordingly. The main reasons of such a mal-functional transaction are due to the absent of the reasonal procedure of decision making reflecting the characteristics of construction project. Therefore, there is a need for an supporting tool and production design for the selection of rational construction method. The objective of this study is to propose production design process and decision making model in relation to various influent factors at the early phase of construction projects. To achieve these objectives, this study 1)analyzes the prior theory about production design, 2)we have studied about selection process for optimal construction method through constraint analysis in structural works, 3)performs a case study to embody the problems of the production design, and 4)proposes a cooperative committee model for supporting production design by analyzing the results of case study and interviewing experts. It is anticipated that the effective tool of proposed model would be able to improve communication among the related participants and systematically accumulate data that might be used in similar construction projects.

In the past, executive managers made a decision based on personal experience and knowledge due to lack of the appropriate and timely information. With the development of information systems and technologies, efficiency and productivity of business operation has been enhanced. In this study, we propose a system design and architecture blue-print related to strategic decision making support system. The proposed system consists of 3 key parts; individual business feasibility test, business portfolio feasibility test, business portfolio management. The three key parts are comprised of 11 components to generate information and knowledge based on various data input from inside and outside of firm. This system is expected to provide objective and reliable output to users. In addition, the proposed strategic decision support system would help respond to a rapidly changing business environment.

This study examined the relationship between perceived participation in decision making and turnover intention among early childhood teachers and tested whether teachers' organizational commitment was a mediating factor. The subjects were 193 early childhood teachers working in day care centers in the Incheon and Gyeonggi-do areas. All valuables were measured by teacher questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed using Manova and Path analysis. The main results of this study were as follows. Firstly, there was a significant difference in perceived participation in decision making, organizational commitment and turnover intention among teachers according to only the type of day care center. Secondly, teachers' participation in decision making was positively related to organizational commitment while both of them were negatively related to turnover intention. Finally, teachers' organizational commitment fully mediated the relationship of participation in decision making to turnover intention. These findings could provide supporting evidence for measures to improve a working environment for early childhood teachers.
