  • Phase angle control ac drives system gains a high popularity due to their simple implementation despite the disadvantage of their poor input power factor especially for large values of phase delay angle. Furthermore it generates subharmononic current at specific phase angle. As input current of do drive systems are sinusoidal, the power factor and subharmonic current characteristics are improve. This paper presents the application of a PWM control technique of do chopper system to reduce the subharmonic current and its characteristics using single-phase dc chopper drive system of universal motor.

  • In this paper, the design of a speed sensorless vector control system for induction motor is performed by using a new sliding mode technique based on current model flux observer. A current and flux observer based on the current estimation error is constructed. The proposed current observer includes a sliding mode function, which is derivative of the flux. That is, sliding mode observer which allows the estimation of both the rotor speed and flux based on the measurement of motor terminal quantities, would be proposed. And, a synergetic speed controller using the estimated speed signal is designed to stabilize the speed loop. Simulation results are presented to confirm the theoretical analysis, and to show the system performance with different observer gains and the influence of the motor parameter.

  • This paper proposes an approach to control the current amplitude and phase simultaneously. To do this, variable structure control and adaptive parameter estimation arc applied to the current control of a single-phase PWM inverter with unknown R-L series load. The load parameters, R and L, are estimated by using the recursive least square method and these parameters are used to adjust the feedback gains of control input. The inverter system is modelled in a 2nd-order system by treating load current variation caused by inductive component as a disturbance. Simulation and experiment based on the 2nd -order model are done and the results show good dynamic response and low THD.

  • A circuit building block for realizing a continuous-time active-only current-mode integrator is presented. The proposed integrator is composed only of internally compensated type operational amplifier (OA) and operational transconductance amplifiers (OTAs). The integrator is suitable for integrated circuit implementation in either bipolar or CMOS technologies, since it does not require any external passive elements. Moreover, the integrator gain can be tuned through the transconductance gains of the OTAs. Some application examples in the realization of current-mode network functions using the proposed current-mode integrator as an active element are also given.

  • This paper describes the optimal current-control of a permanent magnet synchronous motor by the use of robust and simple current controllers, based upon the analytical procedure known as the inverse LQ (ILQ) design method. The ILQ design method is a strategy for finding the optimal gains based on pole assignment without solving the Riccati equation. It is very important to keep the motor in robust servo-lock. By experiments and simulations, we will show that the ILQ optimal servo-system with servo-lock is more insensitive at low speeds to variations in armature inductance than the standard PI servo-system. Variations in armature inductance have the greatest influence on the responses of a servo-system.

  • A novel non-isolated bidirectional soft-switching SEPIC/ZETA converter with reduced ripple currents is proposed and characterized in this study. Two auxiliary switches and an inductor are added to the original bidirectional SEPIC/ZETA components to form a new direct power delivery path between input and output. The proposed converter can be operated in the forward SEPIC and reverse ZETA modes with reduced ripple currents and increased voltage gains attributed to the optimized selection of duty ratios. All switches in the proposed converter can be operated at zero-current-switching turn-on and/or turn-off through soft current commutation. Therefore, the switching and conduction losses of the proposed converter are considerably reduced compared with those of conventional bidirectional SEPIC/ZETA converters. The operation principles and characteristics of the proposed converter are analyzed in detail and verified by the simulation and experimental results.

  • Current cost income is composed of current operating profit and holding gains. There is two viewpoints about the nature of current cost changes: earnings and capital adjustments. The former is based on the financial capital maintenance concept, while the latter is based on the physical capital maintenance concept. Proponents of current cost accounting are convinced that it provides more useful information than conventional accounting. Advocates of financial capital believe that current cost information is needed for management to evaluate their past decisions, and thereby be able to improve their decision-making ability. Defenders of historical cost point out that current cost accounting violates the traditional revenue recognition principle by recognising increases in the value of assets before sales.

  • The MRAS proposed by Schauder [8] is modified to improve robustness to the change of load torque and/or the variation of the stator resistance. The difference between the voltage and the current model is fed into the current model via proportional and integral gains. In order to generalize the MRAS, supposing that the rotor speed is time varying, we add a compensating term to the current model. It does not alter the Popov's integral inequality condition. Also, the asymptotic stability of the modified MRAS (MMRAS) is shown with the stability proof technique as in the original paper. By the simulation works, it is verified that the MMRAS obtains improved performance than the original MRAS.

  • This paper describes the PWM-VSI controller of three-phase UPS system using stationary reference frame. This controller meets the specification the UPS inverter output voltage even under the unbalanced or nonlinear load. This controller is also constructed with duble control loop of the outer voltage control loop and the inner current control loop. For the fast response of the output voltage control, yhr inner current control loop of the capacitor current os used. To get the good property against overshoot, the If controller us used. The outer voltage controller is designed with P controller and the high gain transfer function is used for the zero steady state error. All control gains of both controller is designed base on the CDM method.

  • In this paper, a method for analyzing coaxial collinear antenna for base station of mobile communications using the moment method and the transmission line theory is presented. The excited voltages at the junctions between elements are expressed as the matrix with transmission parameters and these voltages are applied to the integral equation for calculating current distribution. Here, the current distributions, input admittances, radiation patterns and gains are calculated. Calculated values of the current distributions and the input admittances show good agreement with measured values. In case of beamtilted collinear antenna, radiation pattern is simialar to measured result except side lobe.
