황 및 가황 촉진제의 함량에 따른 NR/BR 블렌드의 가황과 물리적·기계적 특성의 변화 (The Changes of Vulcanization and Physico-Mechanical Properties of NR/BR Blend with the Content of Sulfur and Accelerator)

  • 가황계에 따른 NR/BR 블렌드의 물리적 기계적 특성의 변화를 가교밀도의 차이로 해석하였다. 경화제의 비율 및 함량이 증가함에 따라 가황속도 및 최대 토오크는 증가를 보였으며, 가교밀도도 증가하였다. 가교밀도의 증가에 따라 경도, 300% 모듈러스, 반발탄성 및 마모특성은 증가를 보인 반면에 발열에 의한 온도 상승 및 $60^{\circ}C$에서의 tan $\delta$는 감소를 보였다. 따라서 높은 하중이 가해지는 트럭/버스 타이어의 트레드 부위에 사용하는 경우 회전저항이 적은 semi-EV 가황계가 가장 적절한 가황 시스템으로 판단되었다.

플립칩용 에폭시 접착제의 저온 속경화 거동에 미치는 경화제의 영향 (Effects of Hardeners on the Low-Temperature Snap Cure Behaviors of Epoxy Adhesives for Flip Chip Bonding)

  • Various adhesive materials are used in flip chip packaging for electrical interconnection and structural reinforcement. In cases of COF(chip on film) packages, low temperature bonding adhesive is currently needed for the utilization of low thermal resistance substrate films, such as PEN(polyethylene naphthalate) and PET(polyethylene terephthalate). In this study, the effects of anhydride and dihydrazide hardeners on the low-temperature snap cure behavior of epoxy based non-conductive pastes(NCPs) were investigated to reduce flip chip bonding temperature. Dynamic DSC(differential scanning calorimetry) and isothermal DEA(dielectric analysis) results showed that the curing rate of MHHPA(hexahydro-4-methylphthalic anhydride) at $160^{\circ}C$ was faster than that of ADH(adipic dihydrazide) when considering the onset and peak curing temperatures. In a die shear test performed after flip chip bonding, however, ADH-containing formulations indicated faster trends in reaching saturated bond strength values due to the post curing effect. More enhanced HAST(highly accelerated stress test) reliability could be achieved in an assembly having a higher initial bond strength and, thus, MHHPA is considered to be a more effective hardener than ADH for low temperature snap cure NCPs.

불소함유 에폭시 수지의 합성, 경화 거동 및 유변학적 특성 (Synthesis, Cure Behavior, and Rheological Properties of Fluorine-Containing Epoxy Resins)

  • 피리딘을 촉매로 사용하여 2-chloro-$\alpha$,$\alpha$,$\alpha$-trifluorotoluene과 glycerol diglycidyl ether를 반응시켜 불소함유 에폭시 수지인 2-trifluorotoluene diglycidylether (FER)을 합성하였다. FER/DM 시스템의 격화 거동은 동적 DSC와 등온 DSC 열분식을 통하여 알아보았으며, Flynn-Wall-Ozawa식을 사용하여 경화 활성화 에너지 (Ea)를 계산하였다. 또한, 본 시스템의 유변학적 특성은 레오미터를 이용하여 등온 조건하에서 고찰하였으며, Arrhenius식을 사용하여 젤화 시간과 경화 온도에 의해 가교 활성화 에너지 (Ec)를 구하였다. 실험 결과, FT-IR, $^{13}$C NMR, 그리고 $^{19}$ F NMR 분광법 분석을 통하여 합성한 수지의 화학 구조를 확인하였으며, FER/DDM 시스템의 Ea는 53.4 kJ/mol이었으며, 경화 반응의 전환율과 전환 속도는 경화 온도가 높을수록 높은 값을 나타내었다. 시스템의 Ec는 41.6 kJ/mol이었으며, 경화 온도가 높을수록 젤화 시간이 단축되었다.

Determination of a Change Point in the Age at Diagnosis of Breast Cancer Using a Survival Model

  • Breast cancer, the second cause of cancer-related death after lung cancer and the most common cancer in women after skin cancer, is curable if detected in early stages of clinical presentation. Knowledge as to any age cut-off points which might have significance for prognostic groups is important in screening and treatment planning. Therefore, determining a change-point could improve resource allocation. This study aimed to determine if a change point for survival might exist in the age of breast cancer diagnosis. This study included 568 cases of breast cancer that were registered in Breast Cancer Research Center, Tehran, Iran, during the period 1986-2006 and were followed up to 2012. In the presence of curable cases of breast cancer, a change point in the age of breast cancer diagnosis was estimated using a mixture survival cure model. The data were analyzed using SPSS (versions 20) and R (version 2.15.0) software. The results revealed that a change point in the age of breast cancer diagnosis was at 50 years age. Based on our estimation, 35% of the patients diagnosed with breast cancer at age less than or equal to 50 years of age were cured while the figure was 57% for those diagnosed after 50 years of age. Those in the older age group had better survival compared to their younger counterparts during 12 years of follow up. Our results suggest that it is better to estimate change points in age for cancers which are curable in early stages using survival cure models, and that the cure rate would increase with timely screening for breast cancer.

Influencing Factors for Cure of Clonorchiasis by Praziquantel Therapy: Infection Burden and CYP3A5 Gene Polymorphism

  • Chemotherapy of clonorchiasis with praziquantel (PZQ) is effective but about 15% of treated cases have been reported uncured. The present study investigated correlation of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of the cytochrome P450 gene, CYP3A5 and cure of clonorchiasis. A total of 346 egg passing residents were subjected and treated by 3 doses of 25 mg/kg PZQ. Reexamination recognized 33 (9.5%) uncured and 313 cured. Numbers of eggs per gram of feces (EPGs) before treatment were significantly lower in the cured group than in the uncured group ($2,011.2{\pm}3,600.0$ vs $4,998.5{\pm}7,012.0$, P<0.001). DNAs of the subjects were screened for SNPs at 7 locations of CYP3A5 using PCR. In the uncured group, the SNP frequencies at g.-20555G > A and g.27526C > T of CYP3A5 were 15.2% and 9.1% while those were 3.8% and 1.0%, respectively, in the cured group. The cure rate was Significantly lower in the cases with SNP at g.27526C > T and EPGs ${\geq}$ 1,000. In conclusion, EPGs and SNPs of CYP3A5 are factors which influence cure of clonorchiasis by PZQ therapy. It is strongly suggested to recommend 2-day medication for individuals with high EPGs ${\geq}$ 1,000.

이관능성 에폭시/폴리썰폰 블렌드의 경화 동력학 및 유변학적 특성에 관한 연구 (Studies on Cure Kinetics and Rheological Properties of Difunctional Epoxy/Polysulfone Blend System)

  • 본 연구에서는 이관능성 에폭시인 diglycidylether of bisphenol A (DGEBA)/polysulfone (PSF) 블렌드를 시차 열분석기와 레오미터를 이용하여 경화 동력학과 유변학적 특성에 대해 연구하였다. DSC 측정 결과, 최대 발열 피크와 half-width 방법을 사용하여 구한 경화 활성화 에너지 (E$_{a}$ )는 PSF의 함량이 30wt%까지는 증가하였으나, 그 이상의 첨가에서는 감소하였다. 그리고, 전화량($\alpha$)과 전환 속도(d$\alpha$/dt)는 PSF의 함량이 증가함에 따라 감소함을 보였다. 본 연구에서의 유변학적 특성은 레오미터를 이용하여 등온 조건하에서 검토하였고, 겔화 시간과 경화 온도를 이용한 Arrhenius 방정식을 적용하여 가교 활성화 에너지 (E$_{c}$)를 검토한 결과, E$_{a}$ 와 유사한 경향을 나타내었다. 이는 높은 점도를 지닌 PSF의 첨가로 인한 DGEBA와 PSF의 상분리 현상 때문이라 사료된다.다.

열잠재성 개시제에 의한 에폭시/폴리우레탄 블렌드의 경화거동 및 파괴인성 (Cure Behaviors and Mechanical Interfacial Properties of Epoxy/Polyurethane Blends Initiated by Latent Thermal Catalyst)

  • 본 연구는 열잠재성 개시제인 N-benzylpyrazinium hexafluoroantimonate (BPH)로 개시되어진 이관능성 에폭시인 diglycidylether of bisphenol A (DGEBA)와 변성 polyurethane (PU) 블렌드의 PU의 함량에 따른 경화거동과 파괴인성을 연구하였다. 블렌드의 경화거동은 시차주사 열량계(DSC)와 near-IR 을 통해 관찰하였고, 파괴인성은 임계응력 세기인자($K_{IC}$)와 임계 변형에너지 방출속도($G_{IC}$)를 측정하였다. 실험 결과, 경화 활성화에너지($E_a$)와 전환율(${\alpha}$)은 PU의 함량이 10 phr에서 최고값을 나타냈으며, $K_{IC}$는 전환율과 유사한 경향을 나타냄을 확인하였다. 이는 PU의 이소시아네이트기와 DGEBA의 하이드록실기 사이의 수소 결합이 증가함에 따라 블렌드의 가교밀도가 증가했기 때문으로 판단되어 진다.

이피디엠/폴리프로필렌 열가소성 경화물에서 오일의 블렌드 방식이 경화물의 물성에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Blend Mode of Extender Oil on the Properties of EPDM/PP-Based Thermoplastic Vulcanizates)

  • 이피디엠/폴리프로필렌 열가소성 경화물을 오일의 배합 순서를 달리한 두 가지 방식(오일 블렌드 후 가교방식과 가교 후 오일 블렌드 방식)으로 제조하여 가교도(겔분율), 경도, 인장강도, 신율, 용융흐름지수 등을 조사, 오일의 블렌드 방식이 열가소성 경화물의 물성에 미치는 영향을 알아보았다. 오일의 블렌드 방식에 따른 두 경화물의 가교도와 기계적 물성의 차는 크지 않았으나, 가공성에 있어서는 가교 후 오일 블렌드 방식으로 제조한 경화물의 용융흐름지수가 현저히 증가한 결과를 보였다.

Personal experience with microvascular decompression and partial sensory rhizotomy for trigeminal neuralgia

  • Background: Trigeminal neuralgia (TN) is a severe, paroxysmal pain in the distribution of the fifth cranial nerve. Microvascular decompression (MVD) is the most widely used surgical treatment for TN. We undertook this study to analyze the effects of and complications of MVD and to refine the surgical procedure for treating TN. Methods: A total of 88 patients underwent for TN underwent surgery at our hospital. Among them, 77 patients underwent MVD alone, and 11 underwent partial sensory rhizotomy (PSR) with or without MVD. The medical records of these patients were retrospectively analyzed for patient characteristics, clinical results, offending vessels, and complications if any. Results: The mean follow-up duration was 43.2 months (range, 3-216 months). The most common site of pain was V2+V3 territory (n=27), followed by V2 (n=25) and V3 (n=23). The most common offending vessels were the superior cerebellar artery and anterior inferior cerebellar artery in that order. The overall rate of postoperative complications was 46.1%; however, most complications were transient. There were two cases of permanent partial hearing disturbance. In the MVD alone group, the cure rate was 67.5%, and the improvement rate was 26.0%. Among 11 patients who underwent PSR with or without MVD, the cure rate was 50.0%, and the improvement rate was 30.0%. Conclusion: The clinical results of MVD were satisfactory. Although the outcomes of PSR were not as favorable as those of pure MVD in this study, PSR can be considered in cases where there is no significant vascular compressive lesion or uncertainty of the causative vessel at the surgery.

경화제 변화에 따른 WLP(Wafer Level Package)용 신규 Epoxy Resin System의 경화특성 (Cure Properties of Novel Epoxy Resin Systems for WLP (Wafer Level Package) According to the Change of Hardeners)

  • The curing characteristics of naphthalene type epoxy resin systems according to the change of curing agent were investigated to develop a new next-generation EMC(Epoxy Molding Compound) with excellent warpage characteristics, low thermal expansion, and excellent fluidity for WLP(Wafer Level Package). As epoxy resins, DGEBA, which are representative bisphenol type epoxy resins, NE-16, which are the base resins of naphthalene type epoxy resins, and NET-OH, NET-MA, and NET-Epoxy resins newly synthesized based on NE-16 were used. As a curing agent, DDM (Diamino Diphenyl Methane) and CBN resin with naphthalene moiety were used. The curing reaction characteristics of these epoxy resin systems with curing agents were analyzed through thermal analysis experiments. In terms of curing reaction mechanism, DGEBA and NET-OH resin systems follow the nth curing reaction mechanism, and NE-16, NET-MA and NET-Epoxy resin systems follow the autocatalytic curing reaction mechanism in the case of epoxy resin systems using DDM as curing agent. On the other hand, it was found that all of them showed the nth curing reaction mechanism in the case of epoxy resin systems using CBN as the curing agent. Comparing the curing reaction rate, the epoxy resin systems using CBN as the curing agent showed a faster curing reaction rate than them with DDM as a hardener in the case of DGEBA and NET-OH epoxy resin systems following the same nth curing reaction mechanism, and the epoxy resin systems with a different curing mechanism using CBN as a curing agent showed a faster curing reaction rate than DDM hardener systems except for the NE-16 epoxy resin system. These reasons were comparatively explained using the reaction rate parameters obtained through thermal analysis experiments. Based on these results, low thermal expansion, warpage reduction, and curing reaction rate in the epoxy resin systems can be improved by using CBN curing agent with a naphthalene moiety.
