  • The Reverse k Nearest Neighbor (RkNN) query is valuable for finding objects influenced by a specific object and is widely used in both scientific and commercial systems. However, the influence level of each object is unknown, information that is critical for some applications (e.g. target marketing). In this paper, we propose a new query type, Ordered Reverse k Nearest Neighbor (ORkNN), and make efforts to adapt it in an on-demand scenario. An Order-k Voronoi diagram based approach is used to answer ORkNN queries. In particular, for different values of k, we pre-construct only one Voronoi diagram. Algorithms on both the server and the clients are presented. We also present experimental results that suggest our proposed algorithms may have practical applications.

  • In the post genome project era, it is well established that the human genome contains a smaller number of genes than expected. The complexity found in higher organisms can be explained if proteins are multifunctional. Indeed, recent studies are continuing to reveal proteins that are capable of a broad repertoire of functions. A good paradigm for multifunctionality can be found in the amino-acyl tRNA synthetases (aaRSs), an ancient conserved family of proteins. This unique family, which is comprised of 20 different enzymes, is well known for its participation in protein synthesis. Several studies have described numerous examples of these "housekeeping" proteins taking part in extensive critical cellular activities. In this review, we focus on a member of that family, lysyl-tRNA synthetase (LysRS), which has been shown to have a dual functionality. In addition to its contribution to the translation process, LysRS also takes part in the regulation of MITF and USF2 target genes. This phenomenon was first described in mast cells.

  • Objectives To review the epigenetic modifications involved in chronic pain and to improve individualized intervention for the chronic pain. Methods Focused literature review. Results Significant laboratory and clinical data support that epigenetic modifications have a potential role for development of chronic pain. Conclusions Epigenetic approach may identify mechanisms critical to the development of chronic pain after injury, and may provide new pathways and target mechanisms for future treatment and individualized medicine.

  • T In this paper we will observe the critical impact of the changing lifestyles and advancements in various fields of life. Terms like stress, anxiety, hyper tensions are now a days are being commonly associated with today's living patterns. Stress levels are demonstrating a very positive trend across all the demographic profiles of India. Youth is the soft target of this fatal movement. Indian youth is unable to face the challenges of demanding lives and is falling easy prey to the circumstances. There is a steep rise in youth suicide cases all across India.

  • The roll gap set-up in the finishing mill is one of the most important technologies in the hot plate rolling process. As the target thickness can be obtained by the correct set-up of the roll gap, improving the roll gap set-up technology is very critical for plate thickness accuracy. The main cause of thickness variation in hot plate mills is the non-uniform temperature distribution along the length of the slab. The objective of this study is to adjust the roll gap set-up for the thickness accuracy of plate in hot rolling process considering top-end temperature drop. Therefore this study has concentrated on determining the correct amounts of roll gap to compensate thickness variation due to top-end temperature drop. The off-line simulation of compensated roil gap significantly decreases top-end thickness variation.

  • This paper suggests the concept of the innovation management. Above all it is important to make excellent application of the management for the S&T Research Council and Government Sponsored Research Institutes. This paper will discuss three critical issues that is, the first, what makes clear a point of different strategy for the organizational and the technological innovation focused organization. Second, how makes containing the environmental factors and the target of the innovation into the innovation management strategy. Third, how achieves the performance through the managing innovation. We present a modified BSC strategy in order to manage innovation and to set up a platform for sustaining to deal with the innovation.

  • The test and evaluation is a integal part of the radar development process and it consists of two parts, field test and in-house test using a standard simulated signal. To take the in-house test, the test environment is needed to generate the critical signal that is used to determine the system design parameters and consists of general urpose measurement equipments, specialized boards and operating softwares. This paper presents the in-house test environment configuration and its function for radar system. Because this test environment genrates the simulated radar signal which has arbitrary flight path and target condition, the developed test environment makes easily to evaluate the function for radar system. The program ability of test parameters makes it possible to apply a test for 2D and 3D radar system.

  • Twitter is a microblogging service that allows its user to share short messages called tweets with each other. All the tweets are visible on a public timeline. These tweets have the valuable geospatial component and particularly time critical events. In this paper, our interest is in the rapid detection of disaster events such as tsunami, tornadoes, forest fires, and earthquakes. We describe the detection system of disaster events and show the way to detect a target event from Twitter data. This research examines the three disasters during the same time period and compares Twitter activity and Internet news on Google. A significant result from this research is that emergency detection could begin using microblogging service.

  • The shadow enhancer of the short gastrulation (sog) gene directs its sequential expression in the neurogenic ectoderm and the ventral midline of the developing Drosophila embryo. Here, we characterize three unusual features of the shadow enhancer midline activity. First, the minimal regions for the two different enhancer activities exhibit high overlap within the shadow enhancer, meaning that one developmental enhancer possesses dual enhancer activities. Second, the midline enhancer activity relies on five Single-minded (Sim)-binding sites, two of which have not been found in any Sim target enhancers. Finally, two linked Dorsal (Dl)- and Zelda (Zld)-binding sites, critical for the neurogenic ectoderm enhancer activity, are also required for the midline enhancer activity. These results suggest that early activation by Dl and Zld may facilitate late activation via the noncanonical sites occupied by Sim. We discuss a model for Zld as a pioneer factor and speculate its role in midline enhancer activity.

  • ZBTB3 belongs to the Zinc finger and BTB/POZ domain containing transcription factor family; however, its biological role has rarely been studied. We demonstrate for the first time, to our knowledge, that ZBTB3 is an essential factor for cancer cell growth via the regulation of the ROS detoxification pathway. Suppression of ZBTB3 using two different short hairpin RNAs in human melanoma, lung carcinoma, and breast carcinoma results in diminished cell growth. In addition, we found that suppression of ZBTB3 activates a caspase cascade, including caspase-9, -3, and PARP leading to cellular apoptosis, resulting from failed ROS detoxification. We identified that ZBTB3 plays an important role in the gene expression of ROS detoxification enzymes. Our results reveal that ZBTB3 may play a critical role in cancer cell growth via the ROS detoxification system. Therefore, therapeutic strategies that target ZBTB3 could be used in selective cancer treatments.
