R&D조직의 창의적 팀 특성이 혁신성과에 미치는 영향 : 창의적 풍토의 매개효과 (The Effects of Team Characteristics on the Innovation Performance in R&D Organizations : The Mediating Effect of Creative Climate)

  • This study aims at analyzing the relationship between team characteristic and innovation performance. The mediating effect of creative climate on the team characteristic and innovation performance is also measured. Based upon literature review, individual creative characteristics, team diversity, team cohesion, task characteristics are presented as antecedents of team characteristic. Creative climate affects the creative behavior and innovative performance. Creative climate is measured as the Team Climate Inventory (TCI) proposed by Anderson & West (1998) including goal, participative-autonomy and innovative-support. Data were collected from 186 survey responses (54 Teams) out of total 462 (69 teams) from the R&D department of a major ICT firm in Korea. Empirical results show the diversity, cohesion, job characteristic, individual creative characteristic have a positive effect on the creative climate and innovation performance. The participative-autonomy climate factor appears to mediate the relationship between team characteristic (diversity, cohesion, job and individual characteristics) and innovation performance. However, the mediating effects of goals and innovative-support factors were not significant statistically. It was confirmed that the organization can contribute to improve the team innovation performance by facilitating a autonomy and participative climate as well as fostering the team characteristic.

  • In a situation where the demand for creative talent creating new values and ideas is increasing day by day in the 21st century, students dealing with technology in the IT field have quite insufficient communication skills of materializing ideas and logically visualizing them. Therefore, the importance of systematic means of expression and methodology that can convey ideas more effectively and sensitively in the IT field is increasing. In this study, we recognized the importance of idea visualization education in the IT field by reviewing the relevant theory and examining creative thinking system cases and sought a more systematic visual communication method by investigating the awareness on creative thinking and expression. The results obtained in this study are considered to not only provide academic value as basic research in building new education programs in the IT sector in the future but be an opportunity for further research associated with creative talent training.

프로젝트 기반 STEAM 프로그램 개발 및 적용 효과 (The Effects and Development of Project-Based STEAM Program)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of the Project based STEAM program on primary students' Problem solving process and creative personality. Based on the concept of project based learning and STEAM derived from a literature review, a learning program has been developed and applied to 28 elementary 4-6th students. Problem Solving Process and Creative personality tests were conducted before and after Project based STEAM program lessons. The results of this study are as follows. (1)Project-based STEAM was affected all components of problem solving process. (2) Project-based STEAM was affected all eight components of creative personality positively, (3) after using Project-based STEAM was good reaction by students. As a result, the elementary science class with Project-based STEAM had problem solving process for positive educational effect and creative personality. it means the science class with creative personality has potential possibilities and value to develop problem solving process and creative personality.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the creative visual expression in fashion illustration through the previous general theories on creativity. The creative visual expression, in fashion illustration works, can be summarized eight categories as follows. There are 'maximization & minimization'to emphasize the illustrators'emotions and contemporary trends, proposed specially in body expression, 'inversion' seen as the forms of contra-perspective, upside-down, rearrangement of parts, diverted process, etc, 'Unusual uses'to add the effect of caricature, parody, and humor to the fashion illustration works, 'extraordinary connection'seen as the shapes of various combination between animals, plants, stuff, and man, 'concealment & elimination'used frequently in creative visual expression includes a deformed human body, an abstracted human body, an extreme value contrast, simple colors, and dress in silhouette, 'association'seen in various methods; comparing the similar shapes, describing a certain situation or details for analogizing the whole, ‘illusion’ expressed in surreal, mysterious, and fairy depictions and 'substitution'to imitate the composition and colors of masterpieces, copy the parts.

한국의 창조경제와 창조도시에 관한 정책과 담론 (Policy and Discourse of Creative Economy and Creative City in Korea)

  • 이 논문은 한국의 창조경제 및 창조도시 정책과 담론을 비판적으로 분석하고자 한다. 이를 위해, 이 논문은 우선 '정책 이전'(또는 이동)의 개념을 원용하여 서구에서 등장한 창조경제 및 창조도시 정책과 담론이 국제적 확산과정에서 불가피하게 변화할 수 있음을 지적한다. 이를 전제로, 이 논문은 2000년대 후반 오세훈 전 서울시장이 추구했던 창조 도시 정책과 현 정부의 박근혜 대통령이 제시한 창조경제 정책과 담론이 등장 전개된 배경과 과정을 서술한 후, 이들의 정책과 담론이 실제 개념을 왜곡하거나 구체적 내용을 결여한 통치 수단 또는 정치적 수사로 기능하고 있음을 주장한다. 특히 이 논문은 현 정부의 창조경제 정책 및 담론이 이와 내적으로 연관된 두 가지 기본 개념들, 즉 경제민주화와 창조도시의 개념을 의도적으로 배제하거나 또는 비의도적으로 간과함으로 긍정적 실효성을 거의 가지지 못하게 되었다고 결론짓고자 한다.

Creative Imitation as Catch-up Strategy: A Business Model

  • Catch-up is a well-known and familiar terminology for innovation scholars in developing countries such as Taiwan, Korea and China. The strategy, however, is too difficult to perform in each industry. This study looks into a catch-up strategy that Apple and Xiaomi used and examines the results on the creative imitation of business model in the smartphone industry. It is quite surprising that even Apple is based on catch-up strategy. They wanted to catch-up Nokia. Our case study shows that these two companies quickly caught up with the leaders, and the common feature of their strategy is characterized as creative imitation of business model. Creative imitation of business model is different from creative imitation of innovation. Furthermore, this research confirms that the creative imitation of business model leads to aggressive creative innovation.

초등학교 아동의 과학 창의적 문제 해결과 인지 전략과의 관계 (The Relationship between Creative Problem Solving in Science and Cognitive Strategies in Elementary School Students)

  • This study investigated the relationship between elementary school students' creative problem solving skills in terms of science and cognitive strategies. Creative problem solving in science was measured by 4 variables; appropriateness, scientific ability, concreteness, and originality. Cognitive strategies were measured by 6 variables; surface(rehearsal), deep(elaboration and organization), and metacognitive strategies(planning, monitoring, and regulating). The KEDI Creative Problems Solving Test in Science(Cho et al., 1997) and the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire(Pintrich & DeGroot, 1990) were administered to 72 subjects. Data were analyzed by means of Pearson's correlation and multiple regression analysis. Our findings indicated a positive correlation between creative problem solving in science and cognitive strategies. The surface cognitive strategy (rehearsal) positively predicted the total score, the scientific ability's score, the concrete score, and the original score of creative problem solving in science. The deep cognitive strategy(organization) positively predicted the appropriate score and the metacognitive strategy(planning) positively predicted the original score of scientific creative problem solving skills.

과학영재 학생과 일반 학생의 문제 발견력, 창의적 사고력, 창의적 성향, 과학 탐구 능력 비교 (Comparison of Problem Finding Ability, Creative Thinking Ability, Creative Tendency, Science Process Skill between the Scientifically Gifted and General Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare problem finding ability, creative thinking ability, creative tendency, and science process skill between the scientifically gifted students and the general students. For this study, problem finding ability test, integrating creativity test, and science process skill test were conducted to the elementary gifted students (n=95) in science and the general students (n=149) at the same school district. The results of this study were as follows: The mean scores of problem finding, creative thinking, creative tendency, and science process skill of the gifted students were statistically higher than the general students. The problem finding ability had partially weak correlation with sub-domains of the creative thinking ability, creative tendency, and science process skill. Findings suggest that there are needs of further study about factors affecting problem finding and considering the degree of structure of problem situation.

  • Purpose : This study was aimed at examining the relationships of university students' self-efficacy to creative disposition and creative thinking ability. Method : A descriptive study was conducted with a sample of 320 students enrolled 4-year-undergraduate academic programs major in nursing as well as elderly care management in one University located in Pusan, Korea. This study used: (a) 24 items of Self-Efficacy Scale originally developed by Kim & Cha(1996), and (b) 39 items of creative thinking ability and 16 items of creative attitudes in a Self-Report Form of Integrative Creativity Scale developed by Bak & Kang(2006). The data were analyzed by using Pearson correlation and hierarchical multiple regression methods. Result : University students' self-efficacy has significantly positive impact on creative thinking ability(p<.001) with 26.4% of the variance and creative disposition(p<.001) with 48.9%. Creative thinking ability as well as the disposition related to creativity that university students possessed were significantly influenced by efficacy on self-control and efficacy on taking difficult tasks. Conclusion : This result supports Social Cognitive Theory and Investment Theory of Creativity in terms that self-efficacy is the factor affecting fostering creative ability and demonstration of creativity potential to the real. This also implies that healthcare educational programs reinforcing students' self-efficacy would contribute to breed them to healthcare professionals with creative competency.
