  • TRIZ, the theory of inventive problem solving, is widely used not only in traditional engineering fields such as mechanical, electrical, and electronic engineering but also in IT field and generated good results. Therefore, recently many universities have opened TRIZ as a regular course. Especially, 40 inventive principles of TRIZ are not only creative thinking tools that beginners can learn relatively easily but also very effective problem solving tools, but it is not that easy to utilize it properly for solving real problems as you think. In order to use inventive principles as powerful tools for creative problem solving, it is important to educate learners to use it repeatedly through stimulating their interest about the inventive principles. So, in this paper, we introduce various inventive principles hidden in the cards that can be easily accessible in everyday life, and propose how to educate learners to evoke their interest in the inventive principles through making cards by utilizing the inventive principles.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a test tool for convergence problem solving skill. To this end, constructs of convergence problem solving skill were defined in three domains: convergence attributes, convergence thinking, and convergence literacy domains. Thirty-seven pilot items were developed on the basis of the sub-categories for each domain that was defined through intensive literature review; problem solving & convergent thinking and creative thinking for convergence thinking domain, individual and social propensity for the convergence attributes domain, and convergence literacy as convergence literacy domain. Through an exploratory factor analysis, 30 items in the constructs of the test tool were confirmed. A confirmatory factor analysis result showed that the five construct models well captured the covariance between all the items well. Finally a statistical result shows that the reliability of the items and constructs were well established (Cronbach's α value= .963). Thus, the test tool for convergence problem solving skill developed in this study was statistically reliable.

In the last five years, there has been a substantial surge in research publications addressing digital therapeutics (DTx) interventions, signaling a sustained upward trajectory in this field. The dynamic nature of computer science, marked by continuous innovation and development, underscores the need for agile adaptation to rapid changes. Consequently, computer science education is compelled to offer students insights into the latest trends. This research endeavors to contribute to the evolving landscape by developing textbooks that impart knowledge about DTx, an integration of information technology. The study focuses on the application of these textbooks to elementary and middle school students in South Korea. The instructional materials have been carefully organized to enable students to learn about the principle of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) DTx at the elementary level and the DTx that can prevent and address the digital drama at the middle school level. Based on the application of the textbook, students who received instruction using the textbook showed statistically significant improvements in all subcategories of creative problem-solving ability, including idea modification, visualization, task focus, analogy, idea generation, and elaboration (p<.01). Additionally, there were statistically significant changes in students' self-efficacy before and after using the textbook, with negative efficacy decreasing, and positive efficacy and social efficacy increasing (p<.001).

  • The science in elementary school has the purposes of having interest and curiosity in nature phenomena and things, of understanding basic concepts of science, realizing experimental know-how for students. And it also intends students to develop self-leading research ability and creative problem-solving ability through looking-in and experience about nature. However, existing science is accepted very hard and no interesting, just bothering to prepare more then a ability-developing or interest. In this report, I will analyze the study problems suggested in science textbook from 3rd to 6th grade, then find a new way for study problem suggesting and adopt it. It would help students have interest, approach problem without tense, understand problem exactly, and stand a concreat study schedule of experiment, observation, rearrangement, result interpretation that have students study by themselves. Because the suggesting way of science study problem statement is important thing to develop students' creativity and problem- solving abillity and to make self-leading attitude, I wish the exiting, veneficial, and waiting-for science class, through apply the newly developed methology suggested in this report.

  • With the introduction of the 2015 revised curriculum, software education became mandatory in elementary school. The practical subject in the content for the software education consists of information ethics, algorithms, programming, and computer science. Especially, elementary school encourages the unplugged activities. Unplugged activities are preferred among the teachers in the education field as a teaching-learning method. However, those teachers pointed out that the lack of suitable unplugged activity materials was the biggest challenge. In addition, it was pointed out that the existing materials were not suitable for achievement standards, and there are many simple playing-oriented educations that are not linked to computing activities. In this study, we developed an unplugged activity-oriented robot that can be used for the elementary students to learn the basic control structure suggested in the achievement criteria SW education and to develop creative problem solving ability through various activities using sensors. The effectiveness was verified through the software class using the developed robot in this study.

  • In order to investigate elementary school students' readiness to write on scientific subject, we analyzed the participants' draft in elementary student section [National Student Science Writing Contest] which is sponsored by a daily press. As a first step, we designed an assessment framework to analyze the students' writing. It is composed of three domains: scientific thinking, logical validity, creativeness. Each domain has three sub-domains. By using the framework, seven raters scored the students' inquiry reports. The findings reveal that the students needed the training for scientific writing. Especially they had great difficulty in the sub-domain of 'suggestion of rational alternative solution' in scientific thinking domain, the sub-domains of 'clearness' and 'coherence' in logical validity domain, and in the sub-domains of 'creative problem solving' and 'creative presentation' in creative domain.
