  • Let (2,2,2,2) be ramification indices for the Riemann sphere. It is well known that the regular branched covering map corresponding to this, is the Weierstrass P function. Lattes [7] gives a rational function R(z)= ${\frac{z^4+{\frac{1}{2}}g2^{z}^2+{\frac{1}{16}}g{\frac{2}{2}}$ which is chaotic on ${\bar{C}}$ and is induced by the Weierstrass P function and the linear map L(z) = 2z on complex plane C. It is also known that there exist regular branched covering maps from $T^2$ onto ${\bar{C}}$ if and only if the ramification indices are (2,2,2,2), (2,4,4), (2,3,6) and (3,3,3), by the Riemann-Hurwitz formula. In this paper we will construct regular branched covering maps corresponding to the ramification indices (2,4,4), (2,3,6) and (3,3,3), as well as chaotic maps induced by these regular branched covering maps.

  • The aim of this paper is to solve the open problem on product properties of digital covering maps raised from [5]. Namely, let us consider the digital images $X_1 {\subset}Z^{n_{0}}$ with $k_0-adjacency$, $Y_1{\subset}Z^{n_{1}}$ with $k_3-adjacency$, $X_2{\subset}Z^{n_{2}}$ with $k_2-adjacency$ and $Y_2{\subset}Z^{n_{3}}$ with $k_3-adjacency$. Then the reasonable $k_4-adjacency$ of the product image $X_1{\times}X_2$ is determined by the $k_0-$ and $k_2-adjacency$ and the suitable k_5-adjacency$ is assumed on $Y_1{\times}Y_2$ via the $k_1-$ and $k_3-adjacency$ [3] such that each of the projection maps is a digitally continuous map, e.g., $p_1\;:\;X_1{\times}X_2{\rightarrow}X_1$ is a digitally ($k_4,\;k_1$)-continuous map and so on. Let us assume $h_1\;:\;X_1{\rightarrow}Y_1$ to be a digital $(k_0, k_1)$-covering map and $h_2\;:\;X_2{\rightarrow}Y_2$ to be a digital $(k_2,\;k_3)$-covering map. Then we show that the product map $h_1{\times}h_2\;:\;X_1{\times}X_2{\rightarrow}Y_1{\times}Y_2$ need not be a digital $(k_4,k_5)$-covering map.

  • We define the coincidence index of pairs of maps p, f : $\widetilde{X}$ $\rightarrow$ X where p is a covering of a polyhedron X. We use a polyhedral transversality Theorem due to T. Plavchak. When p=identity we get the classical fixed point index of self map of polyhedra without using homology.

  • The purpose of this paper is to prove flow induced by a covering map. Lee and Park had studied semiflows induced by a covering map in 1997 [1]. This proof differs from the proof of Lee and Park. Notice that for the proof of this paper, we use the fact that $\mathbb{R}$ is connected space.

  • In this article, we show that the family of all 𝓘𝒦-open subsets in a topological space forms a topology if 𝒦 is a maximal ideal. We introduce the notion of 𝓘𝒦-covering map and investigate some basic properties. The notion of quotient map is studied in the context of 𝓘𝒦-convergence and the relationship between 𝓘𝒦-continuity and 𝓘𝒦-quotient map is established. We show that for a maximal ideal 𝒦, the properties of continuity and preserving 𝓘𝒦-convergence of a function defined on X coincide if and only if X is an 𝓘𝒦-sequential space.

  • We prove that if a given complete Riemannian manifold is roughly isometric to a complete Riemannian manifold satisfying the volume doubling condition, the Poincar inequality and the finite covering condition at infinity on each end, then every positive harmonic function on the manifold is asymptotically constant at infinity on each end. This result is a direct generalization of those of Yau and of Li and Tam.
