Development of non-fragile $H_{\infty}$ controller design algorithm for singular systems (특이시스템의 비약성 $H_{\infty}$ 제어기 설계 알고리듬 개발)

  • In this paper, we consider the synthesis of non-fragile $H_{\infty}$ state feedback controllers for singular systems and static state feedback controller with multiplicative uncertainty. The sufficient condition of controller existence, the design method of non-fragile $H_{\infty}$ controller, and the measure of non-fragility in controller are presented via LMI(linear matrix inequality) technique. Also, the sufficient condition can be rewritten as LMI form in terms of transformed variables through singular value decomposition, some changes of variables, and Schur complements. Therefore, the obtained non-fragile $H_{\infty}$ controller guarantees the asymptotic stability and disturbance attenuation of the closed loop singular systems within a prescribed degree. Moreover, the controller design method can be extended to the problem of robust and non-fragile $H_{\infty}$ controller design method for singular systems with parameter uncertainties. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the design method.

The Performance Improvement of Fuzzy Controller using the Shifting Method of Rule Base Table (규칙기반 표의 추이 방법을 이용한 퍼지제어기의 성능개선)

  • It is essential for a fuzzy logic controller to have an appropriate set of rules to perform at the desired level. The linguistic structure of the fuzzy logic controller allows a tentative linguistic policy to be used as an initial rule base. At the design stage, if one can reasonably assemble a good collection of rules, it may then be possible to be tuned to improve the controller performance. In this paper, we proposed the shifting method of rule base table to improve the performance of fuzzy controller. The proposed method is based on the principle of that the effect of the output to regulate the system would be greater when the error increases and the effect of output would be less when the error decreases. According to simulation results, it is an effective method to improve the fuzzy control rule base and the performance of fuzzy logic controllers.

High-speed Integer Operations in the Fuzzy Consequent Part and the Defuzzification Stage for Intelligent Systems (지능 시스템을 위한 퍼지 후건부 및 비퍼지화 단계의 고속 정수연산)

  • In a fuzzy control system to process fuzzy data in high-speed for intelligent systems, one of the important problems is the improvement of the execution speed in the fuzzy inference and defuzzification stages. Especially, it is more important to have high-speed operations in the consequent part and defuzzification stage. Therefore, in this paper, to improve the speedup of the fuzzy controllers for intelligent systems, we propose an integer line mapping algorithm using only integer addition to convert [0,1] real values in the fuzzy membership functions in the consequent part to integer grid pixels $(400{\times}30)$. This paper also shows a novel defuzzification algorithm without multiplications. Also we apply the proposed system to the truck backer-upper control system. As a result, this system shows a real-time very high speed fuzzy control as compared as the conventional methods. This system will be applied to the real-time high-speed intelligent systems such as robot arm control.

The Position Control of Induction Motor using Reaching Mode Controller and Neural Networks (리칭모드 제어기와 신경 회로망을 이용한 유도전동기의 위치제어)

  • This paper presents the implementation of the position control system for 3 phase induction motor using reaching mode controller and neural networks. The reaching mode controller is used to bring the position error and speed error trajectories toward the sliding surface and to train neural networks at the first time. The structure of the reaching mode controller consists of the switch function of sliding surface. And feedforward neural networks approximates the equivalent control input using the reference speed and reference position and actual speed and actual position measured form an encoder and, are tuned on-line. The reaching mode controller and neural networks are applied to the position control system for 3 phase induction motor and, are compared with a PI controller through computer simulation and experiment respectively. The results are illustrated that the output of reaching mode controller is decreased and feedforward neural networks take charge of the main part for the control action, and the proposed controllers show better performance than the PI controller in abrupt load variation and the precise control is possible because the steady state error can be minimized by training neural networks.

  • The temperature difference occurs at the test points of chamber, because the traditional Test Handler consists of a heater and a fan. To reduce the temperature variation at different points in the chamber, we divided the heater to three parts which are controlled independently. First, we identified the chamber's parameter and then designed a LQG controllers by the identification model. RTD sensors and VME system were used to construct the temperature control system. In our experiment for the proposed control system, the temperature variation was reduced from ${\pm}1.5^{\circ}C$ to ${\pm}0.35^{\circ}C$ at 50$^{\circ}C$ ${\cdot}$ 80$^{\circ}C$ and 120$^{\circ}C$.

Physics-based Simulation of a VTVL Vehicle for 2D Games (2D 게임을 위한 수직 이착륙 비행체의 물리 기반 시뮬레이션)

  • In this paper, we consider a physics-based 2D flight simulation game where users can easily control realistic flight of a vehicle equipped with two thrusters that allow vertical takeoff and vertical landing. The flight vehicle can be manipulated by directly controlling the thrusting force at each thruster using a pair of analog input devices such as joysticks. However, it might require too much practice to make aerobatic flying solely with this kind of control. We propose a set of fly-by-wire methods that provide easy-to-use, intuitive control of a VTVL vehicle. Based on PD controllers, the proposed methods allow users to specify the velocity or position of the vehicle directly. Furthermore, they are easy to understand and simple to implement. We expect that the proposed vehicle model and control mechanism could be used in various 2D games.

Design and performance evaluation of a storage cloud service model over KREONET (KREONET 기반의 스토리지 클라우드 서비스 모델 설계 및 성능평가)

  • Compared to the commercial networks, R&E networks have the strength such as flexible network engineering and design. Based on those features of R&E networks, we propose our storage cloud service model which supports general-purpose network users in a central region and experimental network users in distributed regions simultaneously. We prototype our service model utilizing multiple proxy controllers of OpenStack Swift service in order to deploy several regions via experimental backbone networks. Our experiments on the influence of the network latency and the size of data to be transmitted show that the bigger size of data is preferable to the smaller size of data in an experimental backbone network where the network latency increases within 10ms because the rate of throughput decline in the bigger object is comparatively small. It means that our service model is appropriate for experimental network users who directly access the service in order to move intermittently high volume of data as well as normal users in the central region who access the service frequently.

  • A practical method to investigate the user interface of web based Flexible Manufacturing System(FMS) on the internet environment is established. Because the industrial FMS controller requires a lot of gadget, such as switch, dial, button, etc., for actual work-site flexible operation sufficiently, the user interface of the controller is significantly complex. The support for operational convenience of FMS controller can increase productivity and efficiency of the user, operational personnel of FMS. While most FMS provide their application programming interface(API) and graphical user interface(GUI) with adequate mechanism itself when used in stand alone, there is increasing demand for FMS that can operate with the intuitional user interface find virtual reality(V/R) environment. This thesis considers the intuitional user interface of Web-based FMS first, and from this, goes a step further, improves as virtual reality environment of FMS on the internet environments by using the feature based modeling technique approach and cartoon rendering. The feature-based modeling technique approach is applied to FMS line which is consist of facilities such as machining center, CNC lathe, autonomous guided vehicle, rail guided vehicle, and various controllers. In this study, the FMS established the intuitional user interface is able to obtain not only the operational convenience but also the enough productivity and significant efficiency.

The Study on the Controller for Supplying Stably Power with a Stand-Alone Photovoltaic/Wind/Small Generator Hybrid Power Generation System (독립형 태양광, 풍력, 소형발전기 복합시스템에서 안정적인 전력공급을 위한 컨트롤러에 관한 연구)

  • The object of this paper is the controller for supplying stably power in a separate house in which a hybrid electrical storage system with a stand-alone photovoltaic/wind power generation system and a small generator is applied. In the photovoltaic/wind hybrid power system used in the separate house, when only the battery is used in sunless days, the capacity of the battery is become larger. In particular, as in recent days, if cloudy days are frequent due to anomaly climate, it is difficult to estimate the number of sunless days. Accordingly, it is preferable to build the electrical storage system that numbers of sunshineless days are to be controlled and a shortage amount of the power generation capacity is to be handled by a small generator system. In order to supply stably power of new renewable energy such as solar to any separate houses, it is preferable to reduce the capacity of battery by decreasing the number of sunless days when estimating the capacity of battery and to drive the small generator for compensation of the power shortage. Such system needs components including inverters for photovoltaic and wind power generation system, batteries and controllers for automatically driving the small generator, based upon the nature of the stand-alone house, and it is preferable to use the controller having a simpler and higher stability by adopting the all-in-one scheme to facilitate its maintenance.

Optimization of wire and wireless network using Global Search Algorithm (전역 탐색 알고리즘을 이용한 유무선망의 최적화)

  • In the design of mobile wireless communication system, the location of BTS(Base Transciver Stations), RSC(Base Station Controllers), and MSC(Mobile Switching Center) is one of the most important parameters. Designing wireless communication system, the cost of equipment is need to be made low by combining various, complex parameters. We can solve this problem by combinatorial optimization algorithm, such as Simulated Annealing, Tabu Search, Genetic Algorithm, Random Walk Algorithm that have been extensively used for global optimization. This paper shows the four kind of algorithms which are applied to the location optimization of BTS, BSC, and MSC in designing mobile communication system and then we compare with these algorithms. And also we analyze the experimental results and shows the optimization process of these algorithms. As a the channel of a CDMA system is shared among several users, the receivers face the problem of multiple-access interference (MAI). Also, the multipath scenario leads to intersymbol interference (ISI). Both components are undesired, but unlike the additive noise process, which is usually completely unpredictable, their space-time structure helps to estimate and remove them.
