  • This study was based on the experience of dental hygienists' role conflict, and attempted to grasp the nature of the dental hygienist role conflict factor, constituent factor and coping. Giorgi's phenomenological method was used to analyze data collected through in-depth interviews with nine dental hygienists working in a dental clinic. The analysis revealed three central meanings: task scope, role conflicts, and role conflict management style and limitations. In the first category, task scope, the range of the legal scope, and the duties performed by the dental hygienist differed slightly. The second category included role conflict due to interpersonal relationship, work, work environment, competence, and identity as a professional because of role conflict. The third category included the role conflict management style and limitations. Dental hygienists tried to solve the role conflict situation through various efforts. In the face of the reality that the conflict is not solved despite such efforts, the dental hygienists felt the limitation and chose to leave. Dental hygienists are dissatisfied with their roles because of confusion regarding professional values and lack of awareness of the professional workforce due to differences between legal scope and actual practice. Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to develop a tool to quantitatively measure the level of role conflict in dental hygienists and to conduct follow-up studies on the effects of coping strategies by role conflict situations.

  • Students who have correct conception didn't show big changes in a test of cognitive conflict, while students who have misconception made significant changes Most students who had misconception were considerably curious about demonstration of an actual phenomenon. On the other hand, according to their own confidence of preconception, the higher confidence of misconception is, the bigger conflicts are and when they meet some different phenomenon unlike their ideas, their psychological shock was big. After a cognitive conflict lesson, students' conception was significantly changed regardless of students' confidence of preconception and the persistence effect new conceptions showed similar result as preceeding research regardless of confidence of preconception. That is, the change decreased from immediate after demonstration of an conflict situation to a week after. After conceptual change, students' confidence of correct conception was generally increased, so it turned out that cognitive conflict lesson had a positive effect on students who had a misconception.

  • Thisstudy presentsthe development of a fast-time airport surface simulator. The simulator usesthe output from a first-come first-served (FCFS) scheduler and has adopted one-dimensional dynamic model to simulate the movement of the aircraft on the surface. Higher collision risks situations in the airport surface traffic are analyzed to classify those situations into six cases. A conflict detection and resolution algorithm is implemented to maintain separation distance and to prevent deadlock. The simulator was tested with a scenario at the Incheon International Airport that contains 72 aircraft. Without the conflict detection and resolution, various conflict situations are identified. When the conflict detection and resolution algorithm is managing the traffic, it is confirmed that the conflicts are removed at the price of additional delays. In the conflict resolution algorithm, three prioritization strategies are implemented, and delayed aircraft count and average additional delays are compared. Prioritization based on remaining time or distance showed smaller total additional delay compared to choosing minimum delay priority for each situation.

  • This study aimed to investigate the relationship of life stress, self-esteem, social support, and marital conflict coping, and to identify the factors influencing marital conflict coping in middle-aged adults. The data were collected using questionnaires from 324 middle-aged adults who were in J city, from April to July 2019. The collected data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression with SPSS/WIN 24.0 version program. The study results showed that life stress and self-esteem affected negative marital conflict coping, which was 10.1% of the overall explanatory power. The self-esteem and social support affected positive marital conflict coping, which was 20.1% of the overall explanatory power. In other words, it has been confirmed that the higher level of life stress and the lower the level of social support, the more tend to act negative marital conflict coping. Also, the higher level of social support, the more tend to act positive marital conflict coping. Based on this study, it is necessary to develop and apply various programs for couples to participate together in order for middle-aged adults to avoid negative conflict coping and purse positive conflict coping action in a conflict situation that occurs during their married lives.

  • This study analyzed how the situation of the elderly problems around the issue appeared on theory and field. First was to identify elderly issues with a theoretical argument about the elderly problem, from the perspective of structural functionalism, conflict theory, symbolic interaction theory. The issues of older issues was selected to increase, divorce increases and remarried decline in the elderly, exclusion from the labor market, and dilemmas, such as political participation and volunteering in the elderly households study the current situation and their problems for them. the results in terms of social issues the first solution to the problem, the elderly, it is necessary to switch recognition for the elderly. Second, we need to remove negative perceptions about older people. Third, we must establish a complementary relationship between the state and the private sector. In conclusion, it should be full in order to solve the elderly problem in terms of social issues, not limited to the elderly problem in the elderly subject matter of an individual or family corresponds to publicize it as a social problem social preemptively.

  • The purpose of this study was to understand the undergraduate students' response characteristics by their cognitive conflict levels and result predictions when they were confronted with the learning tasks of action & reaction and electric circuits. The 147 engineering college students who were enrolled at the introductory physics classes were selected as the subjects for this study. The students were grouped by cognitive levels and result predictions. First, in action and reaction task, the trend of suspecting experimental results and finding the reasons was dominant; however, in electric circuits, the trend of accepting the results was dominant. Second, the reasons for the responses on the subcategories of cognitive conflict were different by the level of cognitive conflict. The responses were influenced by students' preexisting knowledge, former experiences, learning habits, learning motivation, and epistemological beliefs, etc. The high conflict group recognized what they do not consider and was positive to reappraise their preconceptions, while the low conflict group showed the tendency of accepting the situation without doubt and low interest on learning physics. In conclusion, students responses showed differences in cognitive conflict levels, result predictions and presented conflict tasks. The research results, especially the response characteristics, suggest that more research on effective cognitive conflict strategies appropriate for different tasks and students' conflicts are necessary for effective physics teaching.

  • This study aims to look closely picture books regarding bullying and to analyze people directly involved in resolution to bullying problems and conflict-coping method in those picture books. 71 picture books on bullying were examined in this study. Results are as follows: (1) As person directly involved in resolution to bullying problems, 'victim by himself' settles a conflict situation over half of the books, followed by 'victim and other character' and 'other character alone'. (2) various types are described relatively evenly such as 'getting positive mind or building confidence', 'distancing bullies group or making new friends', 'gaining recognition by showing one's competence off', 'helping bullies or being nice to bullies' for conflict-coping method to bullying problems. In conclusion, the necessity of community effort rather than an individual's own effort to solve bullying problems and possibilities of teaching of language use in those books were discussed.

  • In this article, I examined the conflict of youth reflected in Bae Bong Ki's plays based on theory of 'conflict'. Bae Bong Ki has been questioning the 'youth rights' in determining the content of performances, along with 'the magnetic field of college entrance examination' where most of the youth feel under huge pressure in his play. In the and , I focused on the students with the highest grade and the students with the lowest grade in the context of university entrance examination. Students who are struggling to keep the grades up are captured in this play as the educational reality of adolescents in distress. The situation of the top and bottom students is different, but both top and bottom students were too stressful to go to school. And 'the rights of the youth in deciding the content of the performance' in was a difficult topic because it collides with the right for the teacher to educate. It is expected that many plays will be created reflecting the conflict of youth in the future, and youth theater as well as discussions upon it will be enriched.
