  • Single-orifice plate is wildly utilized in the piping system of the nuclear power plant to throttle and depressurize the fluid of the pipeline. The cavitation induced by the single-orifice plate may cause some serious vibration of the pipeline. This study aims to find the optimal designs of the single-orifice plates that may have weak cavitation possibilities. For this purpose, a new single-orifice plate with a convergent-flat-divergent hole was modeled, a multi-objective optimization method was proposed to optimize the shape of a single-orifice plate, while computational fluid dynamics method was adopted to obtain the fluid physical quantities. The reciprocal cavitation number and the developmental integral were treated as cavitation indexes (e.g., objectives for the optimization algorithm). Two non-dominant designs ultimately achieved illustrated obvious reduction in the cavitation indexes at a Reynolds number Re = 1 ×105 defined based on fluid velocity. Besides, the sensitivity analysis and temperature effects were also performed. The results indicated that the convergent angle of the single-orifice plate dominants the cavitation behavior globally. The optimal designs of single-orifice plates result in lower downstream jet areas and lower upstream pressure. For a constant Reynolds number, the higher temperature of liquid water, the easier it is to undergo cavitation. Whereas there is a diametric phenomenon for a constant fluid velocity. Moreover, the regression models were carried out to establish the mathematical relation between temperature and cavitation indexes.

  • OFDM(orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) signal with high PAPR(peak to average power ratio) produces the nonlinear distortion and/or decreases down the power efficiency of HPA(high power amplifier). So, the IMD(inter-modulation distortion) reduction method was proposed to reduce the nonlinear distortion, which shows better BER(bit error rate) performance than the PAPR reduction methods. However, IMD reduction method has inherent problem which system complexity and processing time increases because the FFT(fast Fourier transform) processor is added in transmitter and decision criterion of IMD reduction method is computed in frequency domain,. In this paper, therefore, we propose a new IMD reduction method to reduce the computational complexity and structure of IMD computation. And we apply this proposed method into OFDM system using PTS(partial transmit sequence) scheme and compare the computational complexity between conventional and proposed IMD reduction method. This method can reduce the system size and computational complexity. Also, the proposed has almost same BER performance with the conventional IMD reduction method.

  • In the high-temperature and high-pressure irradiation environments, the multi-field coupling processes of hydrogen diffusion, hydride precipitation and mechanical deformation in Zircaloy cladding tubes occur. To simulate this hydrogen-induced complex behavior, a multi-field coupling method is developed, with the irradiation hardening effects and hydride-precipitation-induced expansion and hardening effects involved in the mechanical constitutive relation. The out-pile tests for a cracked cladding tube after irradiation are simulated, and the numerical results of the multi-fields at different temperatures are obtained and analyzed. The results indicate that: (1) the hydrostatic stress gradient is the fundamental factor to activate the hydrogen-induced multi-field coupling behavior excluding the temperature gradient; (2) in the local crack-tip region, hydrides will precipitate faster at the considered higher temperatures, which can be fundamentally attributed to the sensitivity of TSSP and hydrogen diffusion coefficient to temperature. The mechanism is partly explained for the enlarged velocity values of delayed hydride cracking (DHC) at high temperatures before crack arrest. This work lays a foundation for the future research on DHC.

  • Computational power of IC chip is improved day after day producing IC chips holding co-processor continuously. Also a lot of wireless terminals which IC chip embedded in are produced in order to provide simple and various services in the wireless terminal market. However it is difficult to apply the key distribution protocol under wired communication environment to wireless communication environment. Because the computational power of co-processor embedded in IC chip under wireless communication environment is less than that under wired communication environment. In this paper, we propose the hey distribution protocol appropriate for wireless communication environment which diminishes the computational burden of server and client by using co-processor that performs cryptographic operations and makes up for the restrictive computational power of terminal. And our proposal is satisfied with the security requirements that are not provided in existing key distribution protocol.

  • Combined cycle power plants are often used to produce power. These days prediction of power plant output based on operating parameters is a major concern. This paper presents an approach to using computational intelligence technique to predict the output power of combined cycle power plant. Computational intelligence techniques have been developed and applied to many real world problems. In this paper, tree architectures of fuzzy neural networks are considered to predict the output power. Tree architectures of fuzzy neural networks have an advantage of reducing the number of rules by selecting fuzzy neurons as nodes and relevant inputs as leaves optimally. For the optimization of the networks, two-step optimization method is used. Genetic algorithms optimize the binary structure of the networks by selecting the nodes and leaves as binary, and followed by random signal-based learning further refines the optimized binary connections in the unit interval. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, combined cycle power plant dataset obtained from the UCI Machine Learning Repository Database is considered.

  • Discriminative correlation filter (DCF) based tracking algorithms have recently shown impressive performance on benchmark datasets. However, amount of recent researches are vulnerable to heavy occlusions, irregular deformations and so on. In this paper, we intend to solve these problems and handle the contradiction between accuracy and real-time in the framework of tracking-by-detection. Firstly, we propose an innovative strategy to combine the template and color-based models instead of a simple linear superposition and rely on the strengths of both to promote the accuracy. Secondly, to enhance the discriminative power of the learned template model, the spatial regularization is introduced in the learning stage to penalize the objective boundary information corresponding to features in the background. Thirdly, we utilize a discriminative multi-scale estimate method to solve the problem of scale variations. Finally, we research strategies to limit the computational complexity of our tracker. Abundant experiments demonstrate that our tracker performs superiorly against several advanced algorithms on both the OTB2013 and OTB2015 datasets while maintaining the high frame rates.

  • In this paper an important stability property of the extremes under power normalizations is discussed. It is proved that the restricted convergence of the Power normalized extremes on an arbitrary nondegenerate interval implies the weak convergence. Moreover, this implication, in an important practical situation, is obtained when the sample size is considered as a random variable distributed geometrically with mean n.

  • In this study, we present an approach to parallelizing OPF that is suitable for distributed implementation and is applicable to very large inter-connected power systems. The approach could be used by utilities for optimal economy interchange without disclosing details of their operating costs to competitors. It could also be used to solve several other computational tasks, such as state estimation and power flow, in a distributed manner. The proposed algorithm was demonstrated with several case study systems.

  • We construct degenerated Euler polynomials of the second kind and find some basic properties of this polynomials. From this paper, we can see degenerated alternative power sum is defined and is related to degenerated Euler polynomials of the second kind. Using this power sum, we have a number of symmetric properties of degenerated Euler polynomials of the second kind.

  • The recent requirement for faster and more frequent solutions has encouraged the consideration of parallel implementations using decentralized processors. Distributed multi-processor environments can potentially greatly increase the available computational capacity and decrease the communication burden, allowing for faster Optimal Power Flow (OPF) solutions. This paper presents a mathematical approach to implementing distributed OPF using the alternating direction method (ADM) to parallelize the OPF. Several IEEE Reliability Test Systems were adopted to demonstrate the proposed algorithm.
