The purpose of this study is to evaluate the applicability of tailing in the ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$ mine as a grout material. For the purpose, XRD analysis was performed for mineralogical properties of tailing. In addition, flow, velocity, and uniaxial compressive strength tests were carried out for physical and mechanical properties of a grout material with the mixing ratio of cement and tailing and curing periods. By the result of XRD analysis, tailing of the mine was found to mostly consist of quartz, galena, and pyrite. The flow observed by the flow test showed decreasing tendency with increasing the mixing ratio of tailing. The velocity was also lowered with increasing the mixing ratio of tailing regardless of curing periods. The uniaxial compressive strength as well as Young's modulus also show a tendency to decrease with increasing the mixing ratio of tailing independently on the curing periods. Considering only the physical and mechanical properties of a grout material with tailing, the results are considered to be sufficiently used as a grout material. However, since metallic minerals such as galena and pyrite in tailing contents and these are causing environmental contamination, countermeasures should be considered for this problem in future.
The purpose of this study is to present criteria of selection of optimum grout materials through analyzing the limitation of permeability of each materials(MSG-N, OPC), in various ground conditions by comparing presentation of strength and permeability of MSG method and LW method(or SGR method). To do that, physical and chemical characteristics of grout materials were analyzed and compressive tests of homogel, mixed coagulation materials and hardening materials in certain mixing ratio, and of milk paste. In addition, permeability tests for each ground soil, each injection pressure, and each materials in combined stratum were performed with massive chamber. The results of tests showed that ultra fine grout materials like grout of MSG is necessary to construct effective grouting in sand and silty sand ground. Also, it is expected to become chemical grouting guide data to layout construction engineers because presented proper injection pressure by kind of object ground in case using ultra-fine grout material.
This paper reports on analyzing the free and restrained shrinkage characteristic of ternary grout used cementitious admixture. In this study, the cementitious admixture was used such as fly ash, ziricania silica fume by combination of expansive additive (a, b) and shrinkage reducing agent. And a number of basic performance tests were conducted to investigate bleeding, volume change, fluidity and compressive strength behavior. According to the results, within appropriate mixing ratio, even the fluidity is not influenced by expansive additive and shrinkage reducing agent, the resistant properties of bleeding, volume change, shrinkage and compressive strength are increased. Comparing with plain grout, the free shrinkage reduced by a minimum of 29% which specimens are added expansive additive and shrinkage reducing agent. The combination of expansive additive a and shrinkage reducing agent is the most effective for reduction of shrinkage. And increasing the mixing ratio of expansive additive and shrinkage reducing agent extended cracking time. Nevertheless, combined addition of expansive additive a 2.0% and shrinkage reducing agent 0.50% has best shrinkage reduction behavior and not appeared cracking. From the above, the mixing ratio of 2.0% of expansive additive a and 0.50% of shrinkage reducing agent is high performance ternary grout for PSC bridge.
The engineering characteristics of synthetic polymer-silica sol, which has the effect of reducing leakage, was evaluate and compared with typical grouting material, the water glass-based SGR injection material in this study. The result of the laboratory tests on strength and durability about the synthetic polymer-silica sol showed more than twice as high as LW-based injection materials in uniaxial compressive strength, significantly lower values in shrinkage rate and permeability. The result of pH was less than 8.5 (the drinking water quality standard). As a result of the leaching test, the Na2O elution amount of the synthetic polymer-silica sol was measured to be 3 to 4 times smaller than that of the water glass grout. These results be assumed that the synthetic polymer-silica sol has better durability and permeability than those of the typical water glass-based grout.

In this experimental study, effect of milled glass fibers was investigated on corrosion resistance of PSC grout mortar. In order to check whether the mortar mixture with milled glass fibers satisfy the required properties as a PSC grout, time of flow, bleeding and compressive strength measured. The corrosion resistance were investigated through chloride ion migration test, mortar absorption test and surface resistivity measurement. It is confirmed that all proportions with milled glass fibers have better corrosion resistance than that with only OPC binder. Time of flow was reduced but the bleeding was increased to unacceptable level by using milled glass fibers. Consequently, the mix proportion with milled glass fibers for a PSC grout should be modified to have lower water/binder ratio.
Tubular joints have been widely used in offshore platforms and space structures due to their merits such as easy fabrication, aesthetic appearance and better static strength. For existing tubular joints, a grouted sleeve reinforced method was proposed in this paper. Experimental tests on five tubular T-joints reinforced with the grouted sleeve and two conventional tubular T-joints were conducted to investigate their mechanical behaviour. A constant axial compressive force was applied to the chord end to simulate the compressive state of the chord member during the tests. Then an axial compressive force was applied to the top end of the brace member until the collapse of the joint specimens occurred. The parameters investigated herein were the grout thickness, the sleeve length coefficient and the sleeve construction method. The failure mode, ultimate load, initial stiffness and deformability of these joint specimens were discussed. It was found that: (1) The grouted sleeve could change the failure mode of tubular T-joints. (2) The grouted sleeve was observed to provide strength enhancement up to 154.3%~172.7% for the corresponding un-reinforced joint. (3) The initial stiffness and deformability were also greatly improved by the grouted sleeve. (4) The sleeve length coefficient was a key parameter for the improved effect of the grouted sleeve reinforced method.
This paper presents the results of full-scale loading tests performed on 54 passive anchors and 4 group anchored footings grouted to various lengths at several sites in Korea. The test results, the failure mechanisms as well as uplift capacities of rock anchors depend mostly on rock type and quality, embedded fixed length, properties of the discontinuities, and the strength of rebar. Anchors in poor quality rocks generally fail along the grout/rock interfaces when their depths are very shallow (a fixed length of less than 1 m). However, even in such poor rocks, we can induce a more favorable mode of rock pull-up failure by increasing the fixed length of the anchors. On the other hand, anchors in good quality rocks show rock pull-up failures with high uplift resistance even when they are embedded at a shallow depth. Laboratory test results revealed that a form of progressive failure usually occurs starting near the upper surface of the grout, and then progresses downward. The ultimate tendon-grout bond strength was measured from $18{\sim}25%$ of unconfined compressive strength of grout. One of the important findings from these tests is that the measured strains along the corrosion protection sheath were so small that practically the reduction of bond strength by the presence of sheath would be negligible. Based on test results, the main parameters governing the uplift capacity of the rock anchor system were determined. By evaluation of the ultimate uplift capacity of anchor foundations in a wide range of in situ rock masses, rock classification suitable for a transmission tower foundation was developed. Finally, a very simple and economical design procedure is proposed for rock anchor foundations subjected to uplift tensile loads.

Recently, as the size of transportation vessels has increased, there is a growing need for securing the front-water depths of existing port facilities. The method of deepening front-water depth is securing the depth of the port facility, and it is reinforced by grouting after excavating the rubble-mound to the required depth. The purpose of this study is to investigate the reinforcing performance and filling performance of thixotropic grout as a grouting material for reinforcing rubble-mound. Compressive strength tests were carried out for two types of thixotropic grout, and 5 specimens with a diameter of 400 mm and a height of 530 mm were manufactured and evaluated for filling performance. The required strength of reinforced rubble-mound required to ensure the safety of the structure is 6 MPa. All the thixotropic grouts used in this study were found to satisfy the required strength over 9 MPa at 7 days of age. As a result of visual observation of filling state of the filling performance test specimens, it was confirmed that the thixotropic grout was well filled up to the desired fillet height.

The study investigates the effects of the type, replacement ratio and method of use of mineral admixtures on the fluidity, bleeding ratio, volumetric change and compressive strength of the grout in order to provide basic data for the development of high-quality grout for PSC bridges. In view of the results relative to the type and replacement ratio of the mineral admixtures, it appears that fly ash has practically no effect on the improvement of the fluidity nor on the reduction of bleeding and shrinkage of the grout. On the contrary, blast furnace slag and silica fume appear to have significant effect on the improvement of the fluidity or on the reduction of bleeding and shrinkage of the grout. With regard to the combined use of mineral admixtures, the combination of fly ash and blast furnace slag provides satisfactory fluidity but with significant increase of bleeding and shrinkage, whereas the combination of blast furnace slag and silica fume reduces bleeding and shrinkage but with large loss of the fluidity. On the other hand, the combination of fly ash and silica fume results in satisfactory fluidity accompanied with fair reduction of bleeding and shrinkage of the grout. In view of these results, the type, replacement ratio and method of use of the mineral admixtures are seen to influence the fluidity, bleeding and volumetric change of the grout. Accordingly, it is necessary to select the mineral admixtures considering these effects for their exploitation in the grout of PSC bridges.

The advantages of grouting are the simple instrument, the simple procedure of practice and the simple verification of grouting result. but the more grouting practice there is, the more damages of environment from grouting practice and grouting materials there are. so, the grouting materials and methods with the character of environment friendly are introduced in construction field, recently. This paper is to study of the physical characteristics that has thixotropic character and that consists of inorganic and polycarboxylate co-polymer. In study, various testing methods are performed such as a viscosity, a thixotropy, a compressive strength, a heavy metal detection and pH measurement in lab test and a low pressure injection test and a high pressure injection test in field with different soil type. As a result, a optimum mix ratio is proposed by analyzing the result of lab test. the field applicability is verified by checking a injection pressure, a grout volume and a hardened body of grout by excavating the practice site.
