This research examined the development in Korean children of the comprehension of complex sentences. The relative difficulty in comprehension of the temporal conjunctions "before" and "after" was investigated. The order of mention, contextual support, and syntactic appearance was controlled. The role of cognitive strategies and developmental changes in the comprehension of these conjunction was included in this study. Subjects were 90 preschool children between 3 and 5 years of age. The task was a sentence-picture matching problem having 3 types of sentences combining temporally with "before" or "after". The results were that developmental changes in comprehension of the temporal conjunctions "before' and "after" in Korean children depended on the order of mention, contextual support, and such syntactic factors as the position of the subject of the sentence. The importance of the consistency in the occurrence of events and the order of mention in the acquisition of complex sentences among Korean children is similar to the acquisition of complex sentences in other languages.

In this paper, we introduce and investigate a subclass ${\Im}_{\Sigma}({\alpha},{\beta},{\gamma})$ of analytic and bi-univalent functions of complex order in the open unit disk U in complex plane. Here, we obtain an upper bound for the second Hankel determinant of the functions belonging to this class. Moreover, several interesting conclusions of the results obtained here are also discussed.

This paper addresses the free and transient responses of a SDOF linear complex stiffness system by making use of the Hilbert transform and the convolution integral. Because the second-order differential equation of motion having the complex stiffness give rise to the conjugate complex eigen values, its time-domain analysis using the standard time integration scheme suffers from the numerical instability and divergence. In order to overcome this problem, the transient response of the linear complex stiffness system is obtained by the convolution integral of a green function which corresponds to the unit-impulse free vibration response of the complex system. The damped free vibration of the complex system is theoretically derived by making use of the state-space formulation and the Hilbert transform. The convolution integral is implemented by piecewise-linearly interpolating the external force and by superimposing the transient responses of discretized piecewise impulse forces. The numerical experiments are carried out to verify the proposed time-domain analysis method, and the correlation between the real and imaginary parts in the free and transient responses is also investigated.

To increase the stability and bioavailability of Omeprazole(OMP), which is used newly as a proton-pump inhibitor, inclusion complex of OMP with $\beta$-cyclodextrin($\beta$-CD) was prepared by coprecipitation method and its characteristics were ascertained by means of solubility test, DSC, IR, and the accelerated stability analysis. The type of OMP inclusion complex is classified as Bs-type on phase solubility diagram, and the stoichiometric ratio of OMP: $\beta$-CD complex is 1:2 and formation constant is 80.82/mole. The solubility of the complex could be increased remarkably by complexation compare with OMP. Degradation process of both OMP and OMP complex followed apparent first-order kinetics, of which degradation rate constants and activation energies are k$_{25}$=8.1$\times$10$^{-4}$/day, E$_{a}$=22 Kcal/mole (OMP), and k$_{25}$=4.65$\times$10$^{-6}$/day, E$_{a}$=35 Kcal/mole (complex), respectively. These results show the increase of the stability and solubility of OMP markedly, therefore it is believed that the improvement of stabilization for OMP by inclusion complexation might be practically available.

Inclusion selectivity of a three-dimensional piperazine-ligated cyanocadmate host complex, $[Cd_x(CN)_{2x}\{HN(CH_2CH_2)_2NH\}_y]{\cdot}zG$, has been investigated for benzene (B), toluene (T), ethylbenzene (E), o- (O), m- (M), and p-xylene (P) isomers as the aromatic guest molecules. From the binary, ternary and quarternary guest mixtures of E and xylene isomer (X), the order of inclusion selectivity in the host complex is O>E>P>M. From the binary to quinary BTX mixtures, the order of preference in the complex is seen to be B>T>O${\gg}$P>M.

Human posture prediction and motion simulaiton methods try to solve inverse kinematic problems based on the optimization concept. It is of great concern to develop an optimization method which soloves complicated optimization models in an efficient way in order for the models to be biomechanically sound. In this study, a new optimization method for posture prediction, which is named the Complex Method, is presented. The Complex Method demonstrates more flexibility in a way that it can deal with various forms of objective functions with constraints. This is because the method is a function-value-based approach. A two-eimensional whole-body lifting task was selected as an example of posture prediction, and a comparison study with te incrementation method was conducted in order to evaluate the accuracy of the Complex Method.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of exterior spaces used by the elderly of housing complex. The exterior spaces are used for going out in everyday life with the view point that the elderly have to go out from the inside home in order to prevent isolating the elderly from local community. For that Toyoshikidai housing complex in Kashiwa city of Chiba prefecture, Japan is selected and carried out questionnaire survey and field survey targeting residents. The results are following as. For spatial characteristics, the location installed benches, location occupied in one part by roof, wall, or plants, place connecting to moving flow of the aged, and an open expanse getting safety from vehicle are taken advantages for the elderly. For using benches, the elderly of 70.1% do not have experience using benches installed in all those places. The the biggest reason is that they are not tired. However, 36.8% of the elderly are using benches in order to take a rest and 20.8% of them are using benches in order to talk with the other people. Bench is ibasho of the elderly.
