In this work, single photon avalanche diodes (SPADs) were fabricated using the standard 180 nm complementary metal-oxide semiconductor process. Their small size of 15-16 µ m and low operating voltage made it possible to easily integrate them with readout circuits for compact on-chip sensors, particularly those used in the radiation sensor network of a nuclear plant. Four architectures were proposed for the SPADs, with a shallow trench isolation (STI) guard ring and different depletion regions designed to demonstrate the main performance parameters in each experimental configuration. The wide absorption region structure with PSD and a deep N-well could achieve a uniform electric field, resulting in a stable dark count rate (DCR). Additionally, the STI guard ring was implanted to mitigate the premature edge breakdown. A breakdown voltage was achieved for a low operating voltage of 10.75 V. The DCR results showed 286.3 Hz per ㎛2 at an excess voltage of 0.04 V. A photon detection probability of 21.48% was obtained at 405 nm.
Objective : The purpose of this study was to examine the changes in work performance and motor function of stroke patients in the Lee Silverman Voice Treatment-BIG (LSVT-BIG) program and to confirm its clinical applicability. Methods : Two stroke patients underwent the LSVT-BIG program for a total of 16 sessions (60 minutes per session and, four days a week for four weeks). To assess any changes between before and after the intervention, the Canadian Occupational Performance Measurement (COPM), Berg Balance Scale (BBS), Timed Up and Go (TUG), Functional Reaching Test (FRT), Manual Function Test (MFT) were used. Differences in scores between before and after the intervention were analyzed. Results : The performance and satisfaction of occupational performance increased after the intervention in both subjects. The performance time of the TUG decreased to 0.91, 8.42 seconds for each subject, increasing the walking speed. In FRT distance change, the subject increased in both the affected side and unaffected side. The BBS score increased by 3 points in one subject and by 6 points in the other, indicating improved balance. In addition, in the MFT score, subject A showed an improvement of 1 point on the unaffected side, and subject B showed an improvement of 1 point on the unaffected side and 3 points on the affected side. Conclusion : We confirmed the applicability of the LSVT-BIG program as a new intervention technique for stroke patients. Future, complementary research on the effects of the LSVT-BIG program on stroke patients will be needed.

OFDM(orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) communications system is very attractive for the high data rate transmission in the frequency selective lading channel. Since OFDM has high PAPR(peak-to-average power ratio), OFDM signal may be distorted by the nonlinear HPA(high power amplifier). In this paper, we propose the DSI(dummy sequence insertion) method for OFDM communication system. Some sub-carriers are inserted for PAPR reduction. They carry the specified dummy data sequence which are used for only PAPR reduction and do not work as side information like the conventional PTS(partial transmit sequence) or SLM(selected mapping) method. We use the complementary sequence and the combination of the correlation sequence as the dummy sequence. Flipping technique is used for the DSI method to get the effective PAPR reduction. It is important that BER of the proposed method is independent of the damage of the dummy data sequence. And DSI method has better spectral efficiency than the conventional block coding. On the other hand, threshold PAPR method is applied to cut down the processing time. However, this DSI method is not better than the conventional PTS method in the respect of the PAPR reduction performance. The DSI method includes the threshold PAPR lower than the PAPR of the OFDM signal, reduces the processing time and improves the BER performance.
Background: The incidence of facial palsy has been increasing. Many patients consult both Korean and Western physicians; however, no critical pathway (CP) for facial palsy has been established based on integrated medicine including Korean medicine, Western medicine, and complementary and alternative medicine. Thus, we developed and implemented an integrated CP for patients with acute facial palsy and investigated the satisfaction with CP. Methods: Overall, 20 patients who received treatment following the CP and 20 medical staff members involved in their care responded to a questionnaire survey. The questionnaire was developed based on a review of previous studies and focused on the satisfaction with the CP. Results: Patients' satisfaction score with the integrated CP was ≥ 4.4 for all items using a 5-point Likert-type scale. Smooth and cooperative treatment procedures, time-saving practices, and a clear explanation of the integrated treatment plan were satisfactory factors. Additionally, they preferred incorporating specialized facial massage and receiving education on self-exercise or massage techniques as complementary therapies. The medical staff members expressed a high level of satisfaction with the CP; however, the work division and treatment guidelines must be improved. Conclusion: An integrated CP program for acute facial palsy was implemented, and the satisfaction levels of patients and medical staff members were assessed. The results revealed high levels of satisfaction, and several improvements identified will be incorporated into clinical practice going forward.

The government, in order to settle and activate the use of Construction Management (CM) method, clarified the legal Issues pertaining to infrastructure development and is taking an active role to promote CM through government sponsored pilot projects. However, when a CM method is applied to a turn-key protect, many applicational difficulites are expected. With design and construction are performed under the simple responsibility in a turn-key method, roles of CM's is overlapped. Also, the characteristics of turn-key method are not reflected to the present $\lceil$CM Work Guideline$\rfloor$. Over the years, various problems have been identified from turn-key projects. Korea's $\lceil$CM Work Guideline$\rfloor$ is more inclusive compared to the CM services of CMAA and overlooks the importance of CM's roles in pre-design phase. In this study, CM's roles of pre-construction phase (pre-bidding, bidding, detail design, contracting) in construction turn-key projects were identified and complementary policy for institution was suggested. We further look into dividing the roles of the CM at turn-key project Into professional role and emotional role. Also, we speculate problems of the existing experience in turn-key projects and suggest a rough methodology on how these concepts can be adjusted for improve the turn-key method.
For decades, we have filled our theme parks, shopping malls, a streets and etc. with complementary or competing medias. These spaces have remedied newspapers, magazines, radio, TV and film or have been the object for remediation. Because there has been no remediation in traditional theatrical stage design, many problems come along with the design, which makes audiences hard to feel the sense of presence. It's time to have systematic research to find a way out for the solution of traditional theatrical stage design. This study suggests the solutions for remediation of traditional theatrical stage design, so we are going to research with laying emphasis on the cooperative works between the fields of theatrical stage design and the Visual Effects par that forms extensive and diverse portions. The proposal for remediation of traditional theatrical stage design with practical use of Visual Effects will create economical higher value-added through the systematization of close and cooperative work between the fields of Visual Effects and theatrical stage design. In addition, the systematization of the cooperation of these two parts will make another communicative paradigm that audiences have never been able to experience before in traditional theatrical stage design.
Background : Integrative cancer treatment is a holistic approach embracing body, mind, and spirit incorporating conventional treatments of surgery, chemotherapy, radiation and personalized complementary treatments. Wheel Balance Therapy (WBT) of East-West Cancer Center(EWCC), Dunsan Oriental Hospital of Daejeon University was developed to balance out all factors involved in cancer care based on the traditional theories of oriental medicine. Objective : This work aims to analytically review literatures on WBT and its related components. The composition of the formulas, their use in clinical settings as well as the background studies and other therapeutic efficacies are explained. Information on incorporating anti-cancer dietary support and breathing and meditation techniques, other therapies practiced as part of the center's integrative cancer care are also covered. Conclusion : WBT based on holistic theories of oriental medicine embracing body, mind, and spirit is expected to further contribute in promotion of cancer patients' quality of life and prolonged survival time.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of case management in child welfare facilities to determine what the inhibiting factors as well as complementary factors are. For this purpose, data from 181 workers in community children's centers and 96 workers in child protection agencies and foster care centers were analyzed, the analyzed by using SPSS 21.0 program. In the case of community children's center interpersonal skills, case management guidelines, super vision, and network utilization were the influential factors while in other child welfare facilities, personal inhibitory factors, social welfare work experience, case management experience, and network utilization were the affecting factors. The implications reveal that social welfare practice should enhance the interpersonal skills of the workers, strengthen the supervision system, and provide a clear case management guideline. It is also important to set up a network of all local child welfare facilities and strengthen cooperation and mutual support among the institutions within the network.
Chronic wounds, pressure sores, lesions, and infections of microbial origin in bedridden, paralyzed, or malnutrition patients remain the object of study of many researchers. A variety of factors behind the development of these disorders are related to the patient's immune system, making it unable to respond effectively to the treatment of the wound. These factors can be properly controlled, giving particular importance to the ethiology and stage of the wound, as well as the time periods corresponding to the replacement of the dressings. The present research reports a novel foam/soft material, ${{\small}L}$-Cys-g-PCL, with an application for decubitus/pressure ulcers, especially for wounds with a difficult healing process due to infections and constant oxidation of the soft tissues. During this work, the interactions between S. aureus and ${{\small}L}$-Cys-g-PCL foam were studied under conditions that simulate decubitus ulcers; namely, pH and exudate. The effects of duration of grafting (1 or 8 h) and pH (7.0 and 8.9) on wettability, surface energy, swelling, and porosity were also evaluated. Results showed an effective microbicidal activity exhibiting an inhibition ratio of 99.73% against S. aureus. This new ${{\small}L}$-Cys-g-PCL soft material showed saftey to contact skin, ability to be shaped to fill in sunken holes (craters) - pressure ulcers stage III - and to act as a smart material responsive to pH, which can be tailored to develop better swelling properties at alkaline pH where exudates are normally higher, so as to address exudate self-cleaning and prevention of desiccation.

In this paper, a phase locked loop structure with parallel dual loop which have a different bandwidth has been proposed. The bandwidths depending on transfer functions are obtained through dual loops. Two different bandwidths of each loop are used to suppress noise on the operating frequency range. The proposed phase locked loop has two different voltage controlled oscillator gains to control two different wide and narrow loop filters. Furthermore, it has the locking status indicator to achieve an accurate locking condition. The phase margin of $58.2^{\circ}$ for wide loop and $49.4^{\circ}$ for narrow loop is designed for stable operation and the phase margin of $45^{\circ}$ is maintained during both loops work together. It has been designed with a 1.8V 0.18um complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) process. The simulation results show that the proposed phase locked loop works stably and generates a target frequency.
