  • Purpose: In this study, the diameter of each implant driver was measured and compared to find out the compatibility of implant drivers. Materials and methods: Drivers from 12 implant systems being used in Dankook University Dental Hospital were included in this study. The shapes of the implant drivers were segregated, and the effective length and the diameter of upper, middle, lower part of driver tips were measured (n=10). The measured data were mathematically analyzed for its compatibility. Results: A driver with the smallest diameter (1.17 mm) had the highest compatibility at the upper part of driver tip. This driver could be used for a bigger driver up to 1.35 mm in diameter. There were several driver groups which had the same diameter so as to be interchangeable each other. In the middle part, the smallest diameter measured was 1.2 mm and this was able to replace a driver up to 1.40 mm diameter. Since the diameter generally became thicker from upper part (the tip of driver) to the lower part (the shank of driver), some drivers with bigger diameter at the upper part so which was failed to show any compatibility became compatible with a driver which had smaller diameter at the upper part but wider in the middle part. The compatibility of torx shape drivers were affected by the inner diameter of the drivers not only by the outer diameter. Furthermore, the inner diameter of torx drivers decided the compatibility between torx and hex drivers. Conclusion: From the study it was found that compatibility in drivers existed among certain implant systems and to check its compatibility the diameter at a certain effective length should be measured. However, there has been not enough studies about long-term use of compatible drivers, so effects of using compatible drivers on drivers and implants are unknown. Therefore, usage in inevitable cases only is recommended and further study is needed.

  • The properties of the mixed prepolymer-urethane in the range of 10-40 phr were observed. LBR and LCR have same functional group but different in structure of molecular. The viscosity of mixture depending on content of rubber, adhesive strength, thermal property and compatibility with a diluted solvent are as follows: 1. The viscosity of the mixture was influenced by solubility of the diluent for urethane resin and liquid rubber. 2. Adhesive strength showed the highest value at 30phr rubber, decreased gradually at above 30phr rubber. And LBR revealed better physical property than that of LCR. 3. The most effective factors affecting adhesive strength are molecular structure of rubber, the type of solvent, and volatility. 4. Urethane resin containing LBR showed better compatibility for solvent and faster drying velocity. 5. LBR showed more favorable compatibility and dispersion state than those of LCR by analyzing the results of SEM.

  • The problem of trajectory planning in two redundant robot systems is considered. The trajectory of each robot for the cooperative task is generated so that the robots assume their optimal configurations while following a given desired task. The cooperative task compatibility in and the weighted sum of manipulabilities are proposed and investigated as quality measures. The cooperative task compatibility includes the velocity and force transmission charateristics to the task requirements and so it measures the compatibilities of robot postures with respect to a given task. The weighted sum of manipuabilities of robot postures with respect to a given task. The weighted sum of manipulabilities is also considered as a quality measure since it is helpful to avoid singularities. The usefulness of the cooperative task compatibility and the weighted sum of manipulabilities are shown by computer simulation studies.

  • This paper presents methods to improve the effectiveness of electromagnetic shielding. The slit appears in an enclosure's surface to ventilate. Slits may also appear due to power supply lines or to serve as a communication link between electronic circuits inside and outside the box. We simulated electromagnetic radiation in different conditions in order to propose a method to improve the effectiveness of electromagnetic shielding to ensure electromagnetic compatibility using CST software (Computer Simulation Technology).

  • This study, drawing upon research in innovation theory and Information systems, investigates the relationship among the organizational and innovation characteristics and the extent of internal and external diffusion of EDI in Korean firms. The data for this study were collected from 131 firms that have implemented EDI. The results of the correlation and the multiple regression analysis show that elapsed time and organizational compatibility are the major predictors of EDI diffusion. Specifically, the extent of communication, elapsed time and organizational compatibility are the major predictors of internal diffusion, while centralization, organizational compatibility and elapsed time are closely related to external diffusion of EDI. The results of this study imply that to facilitate the use of EDI widely within and beyond organizations, EDI system should be compatibile with the organizational tasks, values systems and existing information systems.

  • This paper presetns an iterative relaxation method for stereo matching using matching probability and compatibility coefficients between disparities. Stereo matching can be considered as the labeling problem of assigning unique matches to feature points of image an relaxation labelin gis an iterative procedure which reduces local ambiguities and achieves global consistency. the relation between disparities is determined from highly reliable matches in initial matching and quantitatively expressed in temrs of compatibility coefficient. The matching results of neighbor pixels support center pixel through compatibility coefficients and update its matching probability. The proposed adaptive method reduces the degradtons on the discontinuities of disparity areas and obtains fast convergence.

  • Forty-six isolates of Fusarium oxysporum collected from infected tomato plants and soils in greenhouses in Sedo, Chungnam and Angang, Kyeongbuk and 8 isolates of F. oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici from Japan and USA were used to determine vegetative compatibility groups (VCGs). Vegetative comaptibility was assessed on the basis of heterokaryon formation among nitrate nonutilizing mutants. All Korean isolates of F. oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici used in this study belonged to the same type of VCG (003) regardless of their geographic origin, cultivar and race, but they were incompatible with the foreign isolates of VCG 0030, 0031, 0032 and 0033. Based on the results, the Korean isolates of F. oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici were classified as a new VCG 003.

  • A multi-dimensional design is most easily constructed via the amalgamation of one-dimensional component block designs. However, not all sets of component designs are compatible to be amalgamated. The conditions for compatibility are related to the concept of a complete matching in a graph. In this paper, we give sufficient conditions for unequal-replicate designs. Two types of conditions are proposed; one is based on the number of verices adjacent to at least one vertex and the other is ona a degree of vertex, in a bipartite graph. The former is an extension of the sufficient conditions of equal-replicate designs given by Dean an Lewis (1988).

  • In dyeing PET/Spandex blends with disperse dyes, many disperse dyes are absorbed more readily into Spandex than PET. Inorganic/organic(I/O) values can characterize the affinity of disperse dyes for Spandex and PET fibers. As I/O values of disperse dyes approach that of Spandex, the dye uptake in Spandex increases. On the contrary, the disperse dyes of higher I/O values are absorbed more into PET than Spandex. The dye uptake in PET increases with increasing I/O values of disperse dyes. As I/O values of disperse dyes increase, the rate of dyeing become slower in the dyeing of PET/Spandex blends. Hence, the affinity and the compatibility of disperse dyes in PET/Spandex blends dyeing can be evaluated with I/O value.

  • With the development of a laser scanner of high precision and increased speed, reverse engineering becomes a key approach to reduce the time for the development of new products. But the modeling process is not so automated enough until now. Modeling in real workshops is usually performed by the experienced operators and it requires a skillful technique to get the resultant surface of high quality and precision. In this paper, a systematic solution is proposed to automate the free-form surface generation from the measured point data. Compatibility is imposed to the measured point data during input curve generation. And the compatibility of cross-sectional curve is also considered for the loft surface generation. The data in each step is produced in IGES file format to make an easy interface to other CAD/CAM software without any further data manipulation.
