  • The domestic cartoon industry has went through rapid reformation since 2010 incurred by the emergence of webtoon. Most of the students in cartoon schools long to become webtoonists rather than published cartoonists. Cartoon education in middle and high schools rather focuses on webtoons. The growth of webtoons in private education, excluding college entrance examination, is even more promising. In the same train of thought, the number of webtoon private education institution has surged exponentially. Despite provincial colleges experiencing difficulty due to the lack of the student population, the competition for cartoon admission is intensifying. However, college education often maintains curriculums that do not relate to the on-site demands. Cartoon education in the past was mostly carried out through apprenticeship programs. However such programs began to disappear as college education became more common and as people embraced the emergence of webtoons. Instead collective education and author debut programs replaced the old system. Individualization of education is exacerbating as digital writing tools allow individual webtoonists to publish their works on a weekly basis. The background of the growth of webtoon education can obviously be explained by the growth of the market but there are aspects that can't be explained in such a simple manner. This study examines the current webtoon education status and discusses possible methodological and formation development measures for the future. The introduction examines the change in education and market. The main subject examines the current secondary schools and universities cartoon education and conducts a comprehensive study on the various education related changes. This study proposes future directions for universities by looking at the webtoon era and education changes in the conclusion. It also researched how the units of college cartoon education will fuse and deduct practical results via government policies.

  • This paper finds a solution in the social context which cannot be explained thoroughly by well-timed release date, revival of comedy films, and the attraction of Lee Byeong-heon's comedy etc. while it throws question of how the film, Extreme Job captivated 16 million audience. The incredible hits of Extreme Job cannot be explained by analyzing the text alone. After this essay investigates a function and a role of comedy as a public sphere, it examines people's desires and wishes in the comedy and other genres since 2008 when the conservative government has seized power. Since 2008 a series of dark tone's action thriller, social problem film, and disaster film have emerged, these genres showed absence of public security, crisis of democracy and criticism against rulling class. On the other hand, hit comedy films have showed escapism such as weepie, nostalgia, and fantasy at the same time, generally. Although Veteran (2015) is not full-blown comedy, after this film's big success, "comic mode" has gradually revived. A light tone's films which are truer to genre rules has started representing the wishes of people toward social reforms and changes. Meanwhile, "Candlelight Protest" served as a momentum to recover the democracy which has been in crisis, but it could not lead changes in economic and daily lives. Exreme Job can be read as a question how we will survive since "Candlight Protest." The lives of detectives as self-employed workers who has taken over a fried chicken restaurant for going undercover are appearances of ordinary persons who must survive in the edless conpetition. Furthermore, this film shows a dream of a "great success myth" which becomes well-known as a famous restaurant and a self-management such as brand-naming and an exapansion of franchise business. We can read ganster's chicken franchises as a huge distribution industry which disturbs market system by delivering drugs secretly. While applauses that we give to the police having identities of self-employed workers which sweeps the ganster are giving support to oridinary neighborhood like us, they are also wishes of people who long for the restoration of publicness of police in the market which is becoming increasingly privatized today. A significance of this essay is to examine Extreme Job in terms of the geography of film genres and the revival of comic mode sicne 2008 at the macro level, and is to read the film in the perspective of the problems of economic and daily lives which has been still unsolved since "Candlelight Protest" at the micro level.

  • Although there has been a significant technological and representational achievements in domestic animation industry since the beginning of the 21th century due to the high expectation and boost in production, domestic long and short film animations have been less favored compared to foreign animations because they are less entertaining. For small scale productions including students, it is easier to create short film animations due to small budget and short time frame. In addition, as shown in Pixar animation studios case, production of short film animations can lead to success in production of long film animations from better ideas and technology improvements. This research studies factors that contribute to entertainment and humor of short film animation by examining Pixar's short film animations based on Henri Bergson's comedy factors, which are shape, movement, situation and language, and personality. The most noticeable fact is that the humor by situation is found in all short films. Comedy aspect shown in the form of character's internal characteristic is something that has to be considered from the beginning of character design. Contribution of language is minor compared to movement or gesture, which are more often used to cause humor. Finally, character's personality has to be clear and decided beforehand in order to create comedy situations. After studying various short film animations, I found out that the more successfully humorous an animation is, the more it uses various combinations of the above mentioned comedy factors. By fully analyzing and adopting commercially and artistically successful Pixar's short film animations as the benchmark, planning and production of domestic short film animations can perform entertainment role both domestically and globally.

In China, many capital and economic giants have entered into two-dimensional cultural market because the number of users and the interest of the public for two-dimensional culture are increasing day by day. The reason for the rise of the two-dimensional culture into the mainstream culture is not only the switching of the mainstream consumer class but also Two-Dimensional Culture forms a huge industrial chain covering many areas including movies, performances and theme parks in addition to ACGN (Animation, Comic, Game and light Novel), the second is that more people are participating in Two-Dimensional Culture due to the specific audience with high social environment and loyalty and the third is looking for the role of the users in Two-Dimensional cultural content from three characteristics, such as strong cultural prevalence.
