오존과 생물활성탄에 의한 합성세제 제거 특성 연구 (Removal characteristics of surfactant by ozone and biological activated carbon)

  • In this article, the removal of surfactant by ozone and BAC was studied. Batch and pilot tests were carried out for these studies. In batch tests, efficiency of ozone oxidation process was evaluated for LAS(Linear Alkylbenzen Sulfonate) and SLS(Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) removal. Under oxidant conditions, the removal of LAS was more effective than that of SLS. The removal of surfactant was more enhanced with increasing pH in oxidant systems. Pilot tests are carried out with BAC single process and ozone oxidation/BAC combined process. The removal of LAS was more effective in ozone oxidation/BAC combined process than BAC single process about 10-20%. In the case of SLS, the efficiency of BAC single process was similar to that of ozone oxidation BAC combined process. According to temperature, the removal efficiency of SLS changed from 70% to 95% and initial concentration of surfactant had no effects on removal efficiency of SLC under applied temperature above $15^{\circ}C$.

  • In deep drawing of sheet metal, there are many cases in which the uniform and thin wall thickness of the drawn products is more important than the bottom thickness. In this case, we can not easily get the deep drawn products with the uniform and precise wall thickness by only drawing process. Therefore in general the manufacturing processes which both the drawing and the ironing process are proceeded sequentially are used. But this method has the disadvantages of a cost-up, decrease of productivity and degradation of quality, because the ironing process is added after the drawing process. In this study, in order to improve those problems and to enhance the effect of deep drawing, the combined process of redrawing and ironing fur multistep drawing of cylindrical cups is used. In this experiment, we considered the characteristics of the combined process such as the relation between the drawing and ironing rates, the drawing limits and the forces needed for operations. The suggested force prediction shows that it can successfully represent experimental results.

Bacillus Subtilis Spores 불활성화 실험을 통한 오존, UV 공정의 소독 특성 평가 (Evaluation of Disinfection Characteristics of Ozone, UV Processes for Bacillus Subtilis Spores Inactivation)

  • Ozone/UV combined process is an effective technique to enhance generation of OH radical which is non-selective and powerful oxidant. The objective of this study is to evaluate the inactivation rates of B. subtilis spores by three candidate processes (ozone alone, UV alone, ozone/UV combined processes) at 4 and $20^{\circ}$ and to investigate the effects of OH radical on inactivation of B. subtilis spores. On the UV alone process, required UV dosages for lag phase and 3-log inactivation of B. subtilis spores were determined as $8.9mJ/cm^2$ and $47mJ/cm^2$. However, the inactivation of B. subtilis spores didn't occured beyond 4.5-log inactivation despite increasing UV dose. The inactivation of B. subtilis spores by ozone alone and ozone/UV combined process was investigated with ozone CT (Concentration of disinfectant ${\times}$ Contact time) concept. As a result, inactivation of B. subtilis spores by ozone/UV combined process was faster than by ozone alone, and especially $CT_{lag}$ value B. subtilis spores in the presence and absence of t-BuOH, OH radical scavenger, was investigated to evaluate effects of OH radical formed during ozone/UV combined process. We found that OH radical plays important roles on inactivation of B. subtilis spores.

  • Combined cycle power plant is a system where a gas turbine or steam turbine is used to produce shaft power to drive a generator for producing electrical power and the steam from the HRSG is expanded in a steam turbine for additional shaft power. Combined cycle plant is a one from of cogeneration. The temperature of the exhaust gases from a gas turbine ranges from $400^\circC$ to $600^\circC$, and can be used effectively in a heat recovery steam generator to produce steam. Combined cycle can be classed as a "topping(gas turbine)" and a "bottoming(steam turbine)" cycle. The first cycle, to which most of the heat is supplied, is called the topping cycle. The wasted heat it produces is then utilized in a second process which operates at a lower temperature level and is therefore referred to as a "bottoming cycle". The combination of gas/steam turbine power plant managed to be accepted widely because, first, each individual system has already proven themselves in power plants with a single cycle, therefore, the development costs are low. Secondly, the air as a working medium is relatively non-problematic and inexpensive and can be used in gas turbines at an elevated temperature level over $1000^\circC$. The steam process uses water, which is likewise inexpensive and widely available, but better suited for the medium and low temperature ranges. It, therefore, is quite reasonable to use the steam process for the bottoming cycle. Only recently gas turbines attained inlet temperature that make it possible to design a highly efficient combined cycle. In the present study, performance analysis of a dual pressure combined-cycle power plant is carried out to investigate the influence of topping cycle to combined cycle performance.

  • Test results on the deterioration process of concrete under single and combined attacks of chloride penetration have been obtained. After test period of 52 weeks, it is found that the internally penetrated chloride ion contents are less in the single attacks of chloride than the combined attacks of chloride and sulfate. Both the diffusion coefficients and surface chloride concentration derived form the chloride profiles showed a time dependence. Also the performance of fly ash-blended cements was observed to be better than plain cements in retarding chloride attack. However it should be needed that improved chloride diffusion model for the combined deterioration process.

  • This paper presents a study of cold combined forward-backward extrusion product. The case of product with thin wall in piercing process occur defects of deformation and breakdown during piercing process and the center web of product with thin thickness cause flow defect. Such defect is made by the difference of material flow. Methods of the material flow control in the two directions and forming process to remove this flow defect is proposed. The effectiveness of the proposed methods is examined by comparison experiment and finite element simulation.

  • In order to restrain the local necking during stretching of sheet metals, the combined stretching processes with simultaneous compression are proposed. The combined stretching tests with two types of compression to top of the cup were carried out using the pure aluminum sheets; (1) stroke control loading process and (2) pinpoint loading process. It was clarified that the metal flow in the cross-section of the cup is affected significantly both by the magnitude of load and the stroke in the compression process. It was also found that the local necking can be restrained effectively by the metal flow from center of the cup and therefore the forming limit is improved.

  • In the case where the building's rooftop was laid without any foundation, the combined deterioration, such as the repetition of shrinkage and expansion caused by temperature changes, caused further cost generation and damage. To prevent this, the concrete mixing design and construction process shall be established to resist combined deterioration.

  • A combined extrusion process studied here consists of forward and backward extrusion, and it is formed in single operation. The metal flow involved in the operation has appeared to be difficult to analyze accurately because of mixed directions of the flow. In this study, conventional two operations of a forward and a backward extrusions is transformed into one operation of mixed extrusion. A process designed by an industry expert is simulated by the rigid-plastic finite element method to investigate the metal flow and defects. In addition to the FEM simulation, experimental analysis has been carried out to confirm the design in industry, which includes material characterization, preliminary expriment, and whole experimental forming operation. The experimental results show that warm forming of extrusion is more desirable than cold working and hot forming in view of grain growth. Also two conditions of lubrication between workpiece and die has been investigated.

중국인 학습자의 우리말 음운변동 단어의 읽기 발음 훈련효과 (The Effects of Reading Pronunciation Training of Korean Phonological Process Words for Chinese Learners)

  • This study observes how the combined intervention program effects on the acquisition reading pronunciation of Korean phonological process words and the acquisition aspects of each phonological process rules to four Korean learners whose first language is Chinese. The training program is the combination of multisensory Auditory, Visual and Kinethetic (AVK) approach, wholistic approach, and metalinguistic approach. The training purpose is to evaluate how accurately they read the words of the phonological process which have fortisization, nasalization, lateralization, intermediate sound /ㅅ/ (/${\int}iot"$/). We access how they read the untrained words which include the four factors above. The intervention effects are analyzed by the multiple probe across subjects design. The results indicate that the combined phonological process rule explanation and the words activity intervention affects the four Chinese subjects in every type of word. The implications of the study are these: First, it suggests the effect of Korean pronunciation intervention in a concrete way. Second, it offers how to evaluate the phonological process and how to train people who are learning Korean language.
