This paper describes a comparative analysis of soft switching boost converters through design, production and experiment. Soft switching boost converters are designed to satisfy the condition of input voltage 170-265Vac, output voltage 400Vdc, output current 5A, output power 20W-2000W and unit power factor. In addition, parameter values are designed so that system operation can be compared under this is similar conditions. The efficiency of the combined inductor soft switching boost converter was 97.63% with 1011 load better than that of other boost converter types. The combined inductor soft switching converter has simple circuit construction and low switching loss. EMI resulted by the switching noise, and harmonic distortion.
A new transformer winding method is proposed in this paper. Generally, PWM ZVS topologies use a leakage inductor to achieve ZVS operation. However, the leakage inductance of the transformer is not often enough to meet ZVS condition. Therefore, an additional leakage inductor is necessary, which causes large core loss because high input voltage is applied to the additional leakage inductor during a short commutation period. In this paper, a new separated leakage inductor winding (SLW) method is proposed. With the proposed winding method, a leakage inductor and a transformer can be combined in one ferrite core. Therefore, size and core loss of the additional leakage inductor can be reduced. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed winding method can achieve a significant efficiency improvement in a 1210.8W (12V, 100.9A) prototype converter.
Line width under $100\;{\mu}m$ with good resolution is difficult to achieve using conventional thick-film process utilizing screen printing method. However combined with lithography technology finer line and space for miniaturization and highly integrated package is achievable. In this study, photosensitive Ag paste of optimum formulation used for thick film lithography technology was fabricated by various Ag powder, glass powder and additives. As the result, line width of $30\;{\mu}m$ with good definition and reduced mismatch during co-firing with LTCC substrate was acquired. Formulated Ag paste was used to pattern embedded fine line inductor with over 90% yield.
Buck converter is considered to be one of the most widely used DC-DC converters due to its simple structure and high reliable performance. However, when it be combined with thin-film inductor, its own low inductance requires higher switching frequency in order to maintain optimum output ripple voltage and thus gives rise to extra switching losses. In view to overcoming such a technical in-convenience, soft switching fashion is suggested such as zero-voltage-switching of which an well known example is a Zero-Voltage-Switching clamp voltage(ZVS-CV) converter for which low inductance is imperatively required for ZVS operation. In order to support our suggestion, a 1W of ZVS-CV buck converter( Vo=3.3V, Iomax=0.3A, fs= 1.2MHz) is built by use of thin-film inductor, and then tested for comparing the measured efficiency between ours and conventional one. As the our results. the efficiency is improved about 2% at full load by the application of our concept.

This paper presents DG based droop controlled parallel inverter systems with virtual impedance considering the unequal resistive-inductive combined line impedance condition. This causes a reactive power sharing error and dynamic performance degradation. Each of these drawbacks can be solved by adding the feedforward term of each line impedance voltage drop or injecting the virtual inductor. However, if the line impedances are high enough because of the long distance between the DG and the PCC or if the capacity of the system is large so that the output current is very large, this leads to a high virtual inductor voltage drop which causes reductions of the output voltage and power. Therefore, the line impedance voltage drops and the virtual inductor and resistor voltage drop compensation methods have been considered to solve these problems. The proposed method has been verified in comparison with the conventional droop method through PSIM simulation and low-scale experimental results.

A extension of the high boost voltage-lift DC-DC converter with large conversion ratio has been proposed in this paper. The proposed extension is combined the switched-inductor cell (SL-cell) and modular voltage cell (MV-cell). The proposed structure can achieve the large voltage conversion without high duty-cycle and the low voltage of the components. Moreover, the PID controller for novel SL-MV voltage-lift DC-DC converter also introduces. This technique a good-performance output voltage can kept constant with an good transient performance when the output load is suddenly changed. In order to prove the theoretical analysis, the experimental setup has been built for the DC load of $150[{\Omega}]$ and $300[{\Omega}]$. In addition, the transient of output voltage has been tested to determine the controller. Experimental results validate the effectiveness of the theoretical analysis proving the satisfactory converter performance.
In this paper, a new high step up DC/DC converter with a modified super-lift technique is presented. The coupled inductor technique is combined with the super-lift technique to provide a tenfold or more voltage gain with a proper duty cycle and a low turn ratio. Due to a high conversion ratio, the voltage stress on the semiconductor devices is reduced. As a result, low voltage ultra-fast recovery diodes and low on resistance MOSFET can be used, which improves the reverse recovery problems and conduction losses. This converter employs a passive clamp circuit to recycle the energy stored in the leakage inductance. The proposed convertor features a high conversion ratio with a low turn ratio, low voltage stress, low reverse recovery losses, omission of the inrush currents of the switch capacitor loops, high efficiency, small volume and reduced cost. This converter is suitable for renewable energy applications. The operational principle and a steady-state analysis of the proposed converter are presented in details. A 200W, 30V input, 380V output laboratory prototype circuit is implemented to confirm the theoretical analysis.
This letter presents a power amplifier (PA) with an on-chip power detector for 2.4-GHz wireless local area network application. The power detector consists of a clamp circuit, a diode detector, and a coupled line directional coupler. A series inductor for an output matching network in the PA is combined with a through line of the coupler, which reduces the coupling level. Therefore, the coupler employs a metamaterial-based transformer configuration to increase coupling. The amount of coupling is increased by 2.5 dB in the 1:1 symmetric transformer structure and by 4.5 dB from two metamaterial units along the coupled line.
A resonant converter suitable for applications of wide input variation is proposed. A half-bridge converter and a phase-shift converter are combined in primary and the secondaries of each transformer are connected in series which makes four voltage levels. Furthermore, by adopting resonant converter scheme, a resonant capacitor is connected with the secondaries of the transformers in series and an output inductor is removed. Zero voltage switching is achieved from full load to no load. The analysis of the resonant converter and experimental results of 200W prototype is presented to verify the features of the converter.
