The purpose of this study is (a) to investigate the general characteristics of bookjacket of children's books in Korea and (b) to observe general directions of the changes of those characteristics. For that purpose, children's books are gathered in alphabetical order of titles which has been published in the past 30 years and classified into three groups: 'books of 1966-1975', 'books of 1976-1985' and 'books of 1986-1993' according to the date of publication of those books. The important elements of the bookjackets belonging to these three groups are analyzed and compared. Main findings and conclusions made in this study are summarised as follows : (1) The style of illustration which has been appeared very often on the bookjacket of children's books is realistic art style. But a new tendency is that cartoon art style is above everything else. (2) The media which has been commonly used for illustration is watercolor. A new tendency is that various media is used for illustration. (3) People have been most commonly used as characters of illustration, and this tendency is continued from the past. (4) Visual representation of characters is usually simplified, and simple outlines is used for objects. The latest tendency is the same. (5) Visual content is arranged within bookjacket illustration as a whole, and this tendency is continued. (6) Lines for special emphasis are commonly used in depicting objects wi thin bookjacket illustration. (7) Realistic color has been most commonly used in depicting objects within bookjacket illustration. But the tendency is turned into unrealistic color. (8) Light grayish and strong as tone have been commonly used for bookjacket. A new tendency is that pale as tone is above everything else. (9) Gothic type has been commonly used for title within bookjacket. A new tendency is that various types are used for titles.

The objective of this study is to develop naturalistic knit designs inspired by Yann Arthus-Bertrand's works. For this purpose, we examined the present style of naturalism and history of naturalism though literature research, and then developed designs. The results are as follows: First, as scientific realism originated from a philosophical concept was adopted in literature and other genres, its meanings have been altered and comprehensively expanded according to the genres of which the term is being used. Naturalism of the modern times carries strong message of ecology and environmental protection. Second, the modern naturalism in fashion is manifested in expressing the image of nature and plasticity, instead of a mere use of the natural materials. As the aspects of ecology become more significant, elements of retro, recycle, or grunge are additionally integrated in fashion. Third, Naturalism expressed in knitwear is similar with that of other clothing in terms of color and textile, however, silhouette in knitwear is unique in its general naturalness and flowing effects. Embroidery, knitting of Jacquard and Intarsia, or crochet is used to express forms of objects from nature. Visual effects regardless of the contents of yarn, and pattern effects after knitting by using yarn, have influences on the material. Forth, the eight knit designs in expressing naturalism presented in this study took a motif from the works of Yann Arthus-Bertrand. They were created by rendering rhythm of the landscape with emphasis on brown color. Contour and surface touch were expressed through yarn and the structure of knit.

The purpose of this study is to provide the bakery franchise chains with practical suggestions through the analysis of the product quality that leads to customer trust and long-term reliance. For this study, I collected corresponding materials and made an inquiry survey with special emphasis on the covariance analysis to produce trustworthy results along with the analysis of factors. For the empirical analysis, among 350 copies of questionnaire distributed in the Seoul metropolitan area, 322 copies with 96% of usable response rate were used for the analyses using SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0. Then, the covariance analysis was carried out for the verification of the hypotheses of the study. A summary of the results are as follows. First, texture, color and decoration, flavor and feel showed a positive effect on customer trust. Second, customer trust had a positive effect on the long-term orientation. Third, texture, color and decoration, flavor and feel showed a positive effect on the long-term orientation.

This study analyzed the influence of MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) personality types on preferences for user interface (UI) design in music applications. Through an online survey, 535 responses were collected, and data were processed using ANOVA analysis in Python. The analysis revealed that certain MBTI types tend to prefer combinations of warm and neutral color tones, aligning with their artistic sensibilities and emphasis on harmony. Conversely, other MBTI types show a preference for colder color tones or combinations of cold and neutral tones, reflecting their practical and systematic tendencies. Additionally, it was found that UI layout preferences also vary according to personality types. Some MBTI types exhibit a preference for the 'Mostly Fluid' model, reflecting their efficient and systematic nature. These findings underscore the importance of considering users' individual personality types in UI design for music applications.

This research was conducted to define the different conventional meanings of face painting, we can come across easily in recent days, in different times and different cultures. The conclusions of the research are as followed. First, the face painting was mainly done for the symbolic function. Second, in un-cultivated groups, face painting was one way of body art expression and in some cases, the color and the pattern was the tool to give a symbolic massage that was more powerful than a language. The characteristics of the patterning was that they adopted wide range of patterns include geriatrics, abstract, animals, plants and especially the abstract patterns have the groups unique symbolic meanings such as specific pattern appears guard god which was the effort of having a wholeness with the pattern. Third, it is known that in un-cultivated cultures, face painting has a symbolic function whereas in modern society, there is an emphasis on a decorative function. Lastly, the various expressions of modern body decorations are seen as a result of social/cultural states of the settlement ethnic culture and the modern life style of the people who want to have direct and active opinions and individualize and differentiate themselves.

This is a study on a landscape planning along the street 1~4, which are gateways to Taegu city and an important scenery. Therefore, emphasis was given to provide a bright, clean and beautiful first impression to visitors and citizens. The area is being developed for education and athletic park. Plans to construct a fountain, pergolas and a pond were set up to complement the active and passive facilities to the existing a athletic facilities in the area. Since D part in the area have alkali soil (pH 8.1), soil amendment is necessary for successful growth of trees and ground covers. When the area is filled or added with new soil for soil amendment, it will be important to use fresh soil which can support plant growth. It will be ideal to use ground covers and shrubs on the existing retaining walls along the street for keeping natural vegetation and slope stability instead of further cutting and reconstruction. It is not reasonable in technical and economic sense to remove rocks of the slope for planting trees. In order to harmonize plant color distribute, tall needle and broad leaf trees in the background as a screen, flowering trees were arranged in groups at front, and annuals were mass-planted along the footway. Natural-form-trees will be planted because they not only serve as a greenbelt but also are more economics in maintenance than formative trees.

The purpose of this study is to discuss the modern fashion design that incorporates national flags, by each country, methods of their expressions and distinct characteristics. Moreover, it intends to contribute in creating the image of Korea and our own unique fashion identity through creative designs that coincides with the modern trend by adopting Taegeukgi. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: The American flag and the British Union Jack were molt widely used and even though it was less frequent, flags of the France, Korea, Israel, Germany as well as Argentina have been featured in modern fashion. The expression methods also varied and it demonstrated the unlimited options as to how a flag can be presented. Some used the traditional flag as is. Some only used a portion of a flag or its colors as a motive or sometimes the flags were completely redesigned. There are distinctive characteristics when flags are incorporated into fashion. First, the shapes or colors of the flags were used to emphasize the image of a country in rather simple silhouette without many details. Second, through altered shapes, shades, colors or rearrangement, the country's image is presented in more subtle, indirect manner. Third, a flag is a mere element of a formation with various changes to its shape or color, and it no longer holds the traditional significance of a flag. It may also represent the playful or ironic image by combining with other items or execution techniques.

This study is to be focused on the sportswear combining common wear with the design elements of activewear. The objectives of this study are four designers in compliance with the book of Ann Marie Fiore and Patricia Anne Kimle; Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Ralph Lauren and Anna Sui and the times to be studied are limited to the early 21st Century from 2001 to 2005. Main results are as follow. This research divides sportswear into four groups; 'Function oriented style', 'Sensible style', 'Retro American sports style', and 'Street sports style'. Comparison of four designers' sportswear shows that Calvin Klein is function oriented, Donna Karan is function oriented and sensitivity driven, whereas Ralph Lauren focuses on retro American sports style along with function oriented characteristics. Anna Sui places emphasis on youth oriented street sports style. In terms of color, Calvin Klein and Donna Karan use White & Black and natural tone while Ralph Lauren uses pastel tone, and Anna Sui uses mostly vivid colors. In terms of material, Calvin Klein and Donna Karan use mostly elastic and synthetic materials whereas Ralph Lauren and Anna Sui use natural materials.

This study compares architecture with dress, investigates the image of transparency expressed in modern dress, and reveals its modern meaning. That is the purpose for this study. The study results are as follows. First, purity was expressed with simple, white color which has not any exaggeration or decoration, and transparent veils of wedding dress express clean and pure image which represents the original meaning of wedding dress. Second, eroticism conveys being erotic by exposing human body through transmission of light over transparent materials. Eroticism expressed by wearing thin and transparent dress with body-conscious line almost like being nude or emphasizing the sexually curious area in human body. The biggest difference in this study is that eroticism is delivered in dress, but not in architecture. Third, playfulness shows synchronism which recognizes human body with transmission of light over ,linear, transparent materials or recognizes inside dress. Playfulness expressed with location switch between inside and outside, exaggeration, distortion , and emphasis. Forth , openness makes dress atmosphere soft by putting transparent materials over opaque materials, expressed separation from restriction by wearing transparent dress over a naked human body, and expressed open ad free image by expressing human emancipation and freedom. Transparent dress expressed modern human being's sensitivity desire for living with light and joyful mood departing from heavy through, and also open and free image which pursues for freedom of human boedy departing from the restriction of human body.

In this study, simultaneous mordanting method of dyeing in the Caesalpinia sappan dye liquor mixed with the rice straw ash solution was employed. The dyeing effects were compared and reviewed according to the changes of dyeing mechanisms of pre-mordanting and simultaneous mordanting using ash solutions. By the direct addition of the ash solution, the pH of the liquor was abruptly changed. In the case of maintaining the pH value of the ash solution at about 7 or 8, compared to the pre-mordanting, $a^{*}$ values increased and $b^{*}$ values decreased. As a result, it is highly desirable in terms of selective emphasis on the reddish hue. The color development, differentiated from that obtainable by the dyeing of chitosan pre-treated fabric, was obtained due to the effect of the water soluble chitosan component on the dyeing mechanism.
