This study, by applying the experiential and psychological thought category of "impression" as the space design strategy for drawing out "sensitivity," aims to break down the psychological mechanism forming the image held by the subject, and based on such segmentation, seek and strategize an effective design methodology. The subject's memory, pure sensation, and movement sensation are set as the preceding determinants comprising the psychological mechanism of space impression. The control determinants for achieving activation of psychological effect are reinterpreted as the relations of memory-cognition, sensation-perception, and movement-sensation and categorized into a cognitive strategy based on association, metaphor and remembrance; a direct sensation strategy based on formation, superposition and transposition of sensation; and a sensation strategy of process-formation based on expectation organization and reversal, contraction and relaxation. Each strategy is achieved through the formal, material and structural control of architecture. As a restructuring of the design methodology that has been experientially applied, the strategy categorization is important in that, by presenting the usefulness and effect by strategy according to space experience, it makes concrete the basic data that are useful for designing experience of sensitivity.
The interests and studies on co-creation activity in metaverse space, or MMO communication applications, increase sharply. The study performed the experiments on the participatory virtual space design that has dedicated to the common goal of creativity, and provides the environments to enhance ideas, technologies, and artistic artifacts sharing and communication. The participants were recruited from a community of artists and musicians. They have been actively participated the design process as photographers, painters, media artists, sound artists, and collectors. During the period, we have preceded 5 consecutive experiments, which were led by 5 independent artists, tested the value of co-creation spaces.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to translate and culturally adapt the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) into the Korean language. Methods: The process of translation and adaptation of the ICF used here followed the translation guidelines of WHO. Implementation of this procedure comprised of four steps; forward translation, expert panel back-translation, pre-testing and cognitive interviewing, and final adaptation. The translators included health professionals with knowledge of ICF and non-health professionals blinded to the ICF. Clinical academics with significant experience in the use of disability survey, medical doctors, special educators, related policy makers, clinicians, architecture professionals, and international experts in ICF were invited to integrate all versions of the ICF for testing; 151 clinicians volunteered from 19 medical institutes across the country. Four different core-sets and a questionnaire were used for testing its practical usability and adaptation. Results: All translations were reviewed and a consensus was reached on any discrepancy from the earlier versions. Over 90% of the newly translated version of K-ICF was found to be different from the 2004 K-ICF version in the ICF language. Understanding of K-ICF language was responded difficult and very difficult by 50% of participants, whereas its practical use was responded 'useful' by more than 50% of subjects. Conclusion: It can be suggested that the new version of K-ICF should be widely used for final adaptation in the field of areas. Future studies will be required for implementation of K-ICF.
Housing Adjustment is a set of creative human activities that take place to meet various housing needs. Thus far, numerous studies have given attention to speculate a typology of those activities on an empirical base. Overall, though, little is known about its theoretical underpinning, due to the independent nature of each individual study in interpreting differences in conclusions. This study examines and compares results from two previous studies on housing adjustment. Previous research on housing adjustment suggests that, other than household and housing characteristics, housing satisfaction as an intervening variable is deeply associated with the choice of housing adjustment involved in mobility, home improvement, or cognitive adaptation. The two studies used similar theoretical schemes, asked similar questions, yet one sample consisted of Korean American residents and the other sample was poor housing residents in Korea. This study shows that differences in sample characteristics lead to a strong discrepancy in interpreting Speare's (1974) satisfaction theory of housing adjustment. For Korean Americans, housing satisfaction turned out to be a good predictor of housing adjustment preference, while it is not the case for poor housing residents in Korea. This implies that findings of any Single study can not be generalized directly to the population as a whole. Thus, continued effort should be made to compare specific findings from various research studies, seeking explanations for differences in conclusions. Theory can be legitimately built and strengthened in this integrated manner.
Urban outdoor playground serves as the space to promote the physical, cognitive, social, creative, emotional and linguistic development of children and the education center to stimulate the imagination and curiosity of them. It is also the place to be used as a basic park for urban residents and the local community space for associating with people of various levels. However, this playground as a banal space did not function properly before now. In 21st century, urban playground requires change and its various changes have been attempted. In particular, there is a need for the change into eco-friendly playground to provide children's health and urban healthy environment. Therefore, it requires much effort to construct and vitalize the eco-friendly playground adequate for domestic circumstances in Korea. This study derived the preferred planning items among eco-friendly playground planning elements focused on the people to use it and provided the data for the construction of local friendly, eco-friendly outdoor playground. For this purpose, we visited the playground of the apartment house built in 10 years with more than 300 households and surveyed 200 adults and investigated the residents' utilization and satisfaction on the current playground and the recognition and preference for eco-friendly playground.

The architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry is yet to formulate a holistic strategy to realign the evolving technological infrastructures with organisational ambitions and adaptive knowledge of the workforce. This study attempts to create an understanding of the underlying processes adopted by technology-enhanced construction organisations to disseminate and maintain knowledge within the workforce in order to keep pace with the evolving construction technologies. The study adopted expansive learning and adaptive expertise constructs to help better explain workplace learning support structures for organisational effectiveness in a turbulent situation. The two theories were tailored to empirically evaluate three case study construction organisations that have embarked on technology-enabled organisational changes. The study concluded on the creation of a facilitating workplace learning environment to enable the workforce to adapt into and resolve any inherent contradictions and cognitive ambiguities of the changing organisational conditions. This could ensure that novel and conflicting features of the emerging technologies can be adapted across the myriad multi-functional project activities in order to expand the frontiers of the technological capabilities to address the eminent issues confronting the AEC sector.

This paper proposes combination of a cognitive agent architecture named Soar (State, operator, and result) and ROS (Robot Operating System), which can be a basic framework for a robot agent to interact and cope with its environment more intelligently and appropriately. The proposed Soar-ROS human-robot interaction (HRI) agent understands a set of human's commands by voice recognition and chooses to properly react to the command according to the symbol detected by image recognition, implemented on a humanoid robot. The robotic agent is allowed to refuse to follow an inappropriate command like "go" after it has seen the symbol 'X' which represents that an abnormal or immoral situation has occurred. This simple but meaningful HRI task is successfully experimented on the proposed Soar-ROS platform with a small humanoid robot, which implies that extending the present hybrid platform to artificial moral agent is possible.

This study intends to derive play attribute words to describe the nature of play by analyzing the correlation between play facilities and play attribute words. To investigate play attributes at playing facilities and supplement areas of weakness can provide a balanced play environment. Play attributes words were compiled via a literature review and the importance of each play attributes word was surveyed by experts. The keywords explaining play derived from news articles and references are defined as play attributes words. These words were classified into six broad categories and twenty-six sub-categories. The importance of major play attribute words show: Communication (0.268%) > Imagination (0.201%) > Amusement (0.190%) > Development (0.167%) > Learning (0.108%) > Intelligence (0.067%). Experts have recognized the most important elements are communication and imagination. Each play attribute associated with an amusement facility was separately identified in the amusement facilities installed in 114 children's parks in Seoul. Of the play attribute words, the amusement facilities at Seoul's Children's Park reflected a high frequency in 'development'. Furthermore, the importance of major playing attribute words such as 'Communication' and 'Imagination' were not fully reflected in cognitive play facilities. Therefore, it was judged that there is a need to actively introduce these attributes. This study proposed future improvements by determining weaknesses of amusement facilities in children's parks and analyzing the features and functions of play so as to suggest future improvements.

Camp Page, which has been located in front of Chuncheon Station for about 50 years since 1958, recently opened to the public. Chuncheon City is currently struggling to construct a park on this site due to an uncertainty of general plans and financial difficulties. Accordingly, this research conducted a cognitive survey about site usage with Camp Page users in order to clarify directions for efficient establishment of parks within the former military base. The course of research includes analytical methods such as a survey targeting Chuncheon citizens and tourists both in the field and online, a frequency analysis of 1,360 index samples, a cross analysis and t-test. As a result, firstly, Chuncheon citizens recognized the image of Chuncheon as a city with a fresh, clean lakeshore whereas tourists think of it as a city for sightseeing and leisure. Hence, it was justifiable to conclude that the city should organize various programs for people to enjoy leisure activities while at the same time protecting the environment. Second, the awareness of tourists about Camp Page was relatively low and both citizens and tourists recognize that it was not sufficient enough for enjoyment of free time. The majority answered "space for culture and art and for experiencing the natural environment" when asked about the direction of space creation at Camp Page, which indicates that the site will need to be available both for cultural art and nature experiences. Lastly, it was thought that the direction of developing leisure facilities in Chuncheon city should include the improvement of worn out installations and developing chain products among programs. This research will be able to use fundamental data for the efficient utilization of the returned U.S. military camps that are constantly merging.

This research investigated the landscape characteristics of the skyline and the cognitive characteristics of Mt. Mudeung (1,186m) from various viewpoints. Mt. Mudeung, the representative landscape of Gwangju City, has been recognized as a natural landmark and theme of paintings. By analyzing the perspective from 32 points with a digital terrain model, some landscape indices of the skyline were derived and the relationships are discussed. Assessment of the semantic differential scale with 21 adjective variables and representativeness to 15 landscape photographs of the mountain were accomplished. 1. Through regression analysis of the skyline indices, significant relationships were found between them the angle from the visual axis and number of skyline jumps, the vertical angle fluctuation and number of jumps per degree, the visual depth fluctuation and vertical angle fluctuation of skyline, and between the vertical angle mean and number of jumps per degree. Meaningful relations were found between the number of jumps of skyline to number of jumps per degree and the angle from visual axis to visual distance. However, in the representative assessment no difference was found on the angle from visual axis of viewpoints. On the other hand, it seemed to relate representativeness with visual clarity based on visual distance. 2. We found 4 factors "familiarity", "fluctuation of skylines", "openness", and "feeling of texture" in the results of factor analysis of semantic differential assessment. When considering the results of assessment for representativeness, adjective words for familiarity and openness seemed to have a close assessment. Specifically, the research showed that the landscape representation was highly assessed in a view which could be seen from the higher parts to the lower part of hills. This result indicates that the management of viewpoints which could get a scene from intermediate to distant, and locating a high elevation is important. 3. In the picturesque expression of Mt. Mudeung, various impressions from the different points, a skyline based on the top of Mt. Mudeung and a mono structure by overlapping hills were common characteristics. These common characteristics were also partially found through the analysis of topographical landscape indices and landscape images. Therefore, the viewpoints for the representative landscape management should be selected in natural or open spaces.
