Hand-Eye Laser Range Finder based Welding Plane Recognition Method for Autonomous Robotic Welding (자동 로봇 용접을 위한 Hand-Eye 레이저 거리 측정기 기반 용접 평면 인식 기법)

  • This paper proposes a hand-eye laser range finder (LRF) based welding plane recognition method for autonomous robotic welding. The robot welding is the process of joining a metal piece and the welding plane along the welding path predefined by the shape of the metal piece. Thus, for successful robotic welding, the position and direction of the welding plane should be exactly detected. If the detected position and direction of the plane is not accurate, the autonomous robotic welding should fail. For precise recognition of the welding plane, a line on the plane is detected by the LRF. For obtaining the line on the plane, the Hough transform is applied to the obtained data from the LRF. Since the Hough transform is based on the voting method, the sensor noise can be reduced. Two lines on the plane are obtained before and after rotation of the robot joint, and then the direction of the plane is calculated by the cross product of two direction vectors of two lines. For verifying the feasibility of the proposed method, the simulation with the robot simulator, RoboticsLab developed by Simlab Co. Ltd., is carried out.

  • In this paper, the application of Parallel Distributed Compensation (PDC) controller for fixed pitch rotary wing system was studied. For nonlinear modeling, T-S fuzzy model was utilized to advance system control including the tilt type UAV. PDC controller was designed through the Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI). Experiments for determining the applicability and feasibility of PDC were performed using the 1 axis attitude control equipment and simulation. To verify the performance and characteristics of the controller, Mathworks Co. Simulink was used. After then, the PDC controller performance was verified and the results with developed controller using a 1 axis attitude control equipment were compared. Verification of the feasibility of PDC controller for the fixed pitch rotary wing system and identification of the overall performance and improvement analysis was conducted based on the experimental results.

Development of Simulation Technology Based on 3D Indoor Map for Analyzing Pedestrian Convenience (보행 편의성 분석을 위한 3차원 실내지도 기반의 시뮬레이션 기술 개발)

  • Increasing transportation dependence on the metro system has lead to the convenience of passengers becoming as important as the transportation capacity. In this study, a pedestrian simulator has been developed that can quantitatively assess the pedestrian environment in terms of attributes such as speed and distance. The simulator consists of modules designed for 3D indoor map authoring and algorithmic pedestrian modeling. Module functions for 3D indoor map authoring include 3D spatial modeling, network generation, and evaluation of obtained results. The pedestrian modeling algorithm executes functions such as conducting a path search, allocation of users, and evaluation of level of service (LOS). The primary objective behind developing the said functions is to apply and analyze various scenarios repeatedly, such as before and after the improvement of the pedestrian environment, and to integrate the spatial information database with the dynamic information database. Furthermore, to demonstrate the practical applicability of the proposed simulator in the future, a test-bed was constructed for a currently operational metro station and the quantitative index of the proposed improvement effect was calculated by analyzing the walking speed of pedestrians before and after the improvement of the passage. The possibility of database extension for further analysis has also been discussed in this study.

Effects of Interference Signals on the Performance of EFTS (간섭신호가 EFTS의 성능에 미치는 영향)

  • A radio communication system has interference caused by other radio transmitters operated in co-channel or adjacent channels. Therefore technical specifications are made by considering and investigating the effects of interference between the new system and present systems when the new system will be started to serve in the near future. FTS is used for preventing an abnormal mission and guaranteeing public protection. Recently the next generation FTS's are researched to reinforce the security and to increase the operating capability of simultaneous use. EFTS known as one of the next generation FTS's is suitable for such purposes. In this paper the effects of interference signals on the performance of EFTS are investigated. Noncoherent DPSK and noncoherent CPFSK are considered for the modulation method of EFTS and a FMCW and a pulse RADAR considered as a interferer. The power of FMCW is 20.3dB lower than the power of EFTS and the power of pulse RADAR is 19.1dB lower than that of EFTS. Simulation results show that FMCW interferer reduce $E_b/N_o$ of about 1dB and $E_b/N_o$ of EFTS deteriorates about 0.5dB due to interference signals generated from pulse RADAR.

Three-dimensional Simulation of Wave Reflection and Pressure Acting on Circular Perforated Caisson Breakwater by OLAFOAM (OLAFOAM에 기초한 원형유공케이슨 방파제의 반사율 및 작용파압에 관한 3차원시뮬레이션)

  • In this study, we proposed a new-type of circular perforated caisson breakwater consisting of a bundle of latticed blocks that can be applied to a small port such as a fishing port, and numerically investigated the hydraulic characteristics of the breakwater. The numerical method used in this study is OLAFOAM which newly added wave generation module, porous media analysis module and reflected wave control module based on OpenFOAM that is open source CFD software published under the GPL license. To investigate the applicability of OLAFOAM, the variations of wave pressure acting on the three-dimensional slit caisson were compared to the previous experimental results under the regular wave conditions, and then the performance for irregular waves was examined from the reproducibility of the target irregular waves and frequency spectrum analysis. As a result, a series of numerical simulations for the new-type of circular perforated caisson breakwaters, which is similar to slit caisson breakwater, was carried out under the irregular wave actions. The hydraulic characteristics of the breakwater such as wave overtopping, reflection, and wave pressure distribution were carefully investigated respect to the significant wave height and period, the wave chamber width, and the interconnectivity between them. The numerical results revealed that the wave pressure acting on the new-type of circular perforated caisson breakwaters was considerably smaller than the result of the impermeable vertical wall computed by the Goda equation. Also, the reflection of the new-type caisson breakwater was similar to the variation range of the reflection coefficient of the existing slit caisson breakwater.

  • 본 연구는 필드 작업 시 작업조건에 따른 정식기의 PTO 부하를 측정하고, 이를 이용하여 작업조건에 따른 안전율 시뮬레이션을 목적으로 수행하였다. 부하 계측 시스템은 PTO 축의 부하를 측정하기 위한 토크 센서, 토크 센서에서 발생한 신호를 수집하기 위한 데이터 수집장치, 노트북에 전원을 공급하기 위한 파워 컨트롤러로 구성하였다. 토크센서에서 입력된 부하 데이터를 처리하기 위한 소프트웨어는 Labview(Version 2011, National Instrument, USA)를 사용하였다. 포장시험은 유사한 토양 조건에서 4회 반복 시험을 수행하였으며, 작업속도 고속 조건에서 4개의 주간거리(26, 35, 43, 80cm)와 3개의 식부깊이 (85, 105, 136mm)에 대하여 수행하였다. 안전율 시뮬레이션을 위한 소프트웨어는 KISSsoft(Version 2016, Kissling & Co. AG, Switzerland)를 사용하였다. 식부깊이 85mm에서 주간거리 26, 35, 43, 80cm일 때 작업시 각각 굽힘 안전율은 2.2874, 2.4507, 2.7139, 2.8064로 나타났으며 접촉 안전율은 1.1787, 1.2799, 1.3205, 1.3275로 나타났다. 식부깊이 105mm에서 주간거리 26, 35, 43, 80cm일 때 작업 시 각각 굽힘 안전율은 2.1261, 2.2781, 2.4879, 2.5866로 나타났으며 접촉 안전율은 1.1296, 1.1425, 1.2710, 1.2507로 나타났다. 식부깊이 136mm에서 주간거리 26, 35, 43, 80cm일 때 작업 시 각각 굽힘 안전율은 1.6587, 1.6651, 1.7824, 2.2198로 나타났으며 접촉 안전율은 1.0030, 1.0104, 1.0450, 1.1931로 나타났다. 주간거리에 따른 식부깊이의 굽힘 안전율과 접촉 안전율은 가장 차이가 큰 주간거리 80cm에서 식부깊이가 85, 105, 136mm일 때 작업 시 각각 굽힘 안전율은 2.8064, 2.5866, 2.2198로 나타났으며 접촉 안전율은 1.3275, 1.2507, 1.1931로 나타났다. 시뮬레이션 결과 정식기 베벨기어의 안전율은 주간거리가 짧을수록, 식부깊이가 깊을수록 더 낮게 나타났다. 그러므로 정식 작업 시 정식기의 부하와 내구성을 고려하여 적절한 작업조건을 선정해야 함을 알 수 있다. 또한 향후 다양한 토양 조건 및 작업 단수 등에 따른 포장시험을 추가로 진행하여 여러 조건에서의 안전율 시뮬레이션을 수행할 예정이다.

Feasibility Study of a Series Hybrid-Electric Propulsion System for a Fixed Wing VTOL Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (고정익 수직이착륙 무인항공기를 위한 하이브리드-전기 추진시스템의 타당성 연구)

  • General VTOL aircraft uses gas turbine engine which has high power to weight ratio. However, in the VTOL UAV in small sector, the gas turbine as a prime mover is not adequate because of the limitation of the high fuel consumption ratio of the gas turbine. In this research, The Series Hybrid-Electric Propulsion System(SHEPS) has been proposed and technology survey & comparison analysis has conducted to constitute propulsion system for engine, electric motor and battery. To achieve this object a 65kg-class P-UAV from "Company I" was used. And to estimate the validity of power control algorithm and developed power management control, Matlab/simulink$^{(R)}$ has been used for the simulation. As a result, the developed algorithm worked comparatively well and the research has predicted that SHEPS was satisfied enough for 7 hour of endurance for mission profile.

Interpretation of Simultaneous Nitrification & Denitrification Reaction by Modifying Activated Sludge Models(ASMs) (활성슬러지 모델 수정을 통한 동시 질산화.탈질 반응 해석)

  • Simultaneous nitrification and denitrification means that nitrification and denitrification occur concurrently in the same reaction vessel under low DO concentration. Some mathematical models developed to simulate simultaneous nitrification and denitrification reaction, but they have the complex model structures or have limitations of model application. To solve these problems, if possible that predict the behavior of simultaneous nitrification and denitrification reaction by activated sludge model, structures of the model is less complex than previous models and applies the various operation conditions. But original activated sludge models have difficulties in representing the denitrification reaction under aerobic condition. So the aim of this study is to interpret simultaneous nitrification and denitrification reaction by modifying activated sludge model. Original activated sludge model No.1(ASM1) was selected and modified. The simulation result in modified ASM1 predicted appropriately for the measured data. This indicates the structures of ASM1 are properly improved for interpretation of simultaneous nitrification and denitrification reaction.

  • Because of the important role LD converters play in the production of high quality steel, various dynamic models have been attempted in the past by many researchers not only to understand the complex chemical reactions that take place in the converter process but also to assist the converter operation itself using computers. And yet no single dynamic model was found to be completely satisfactory because of the complexity involved with the process. The process indeed involves dynamic energy and mass balances at high temperatures accompanied by complex chemical reactions and transport phenomena in the molten state. In the present study, a mathematical model describing the dynamic behavior of LD converter process has been developed. The dynamic model describes the time behavior of the temperature and the concentrations of chemical species in the hot metal bath and slag. The analysis was greatly facilitated by dividing the entire process into three zones according to the physical boundaries and reaction mechanisms. These three zones were hot metal (zone 1), slag (zone 2) and emulsion (zone 3) zones. The removal rate of Si, C, Mn and P and the rate of Fe oxidation in the hot metal bath, and the change of composition in the slag were obtained as functions of time, operating conditions and kinetic parameters. The temperature behavior in the metal bath and the slag was also obtained by considering the heat transfer between the mixing and the slag zones and the heat generated from chemical reactions involving oxygen blowing. To identify the unknown parameters in the equations and simulate the dynamic model, Hooke and Jeeves parttern search and Runge-Kutta integration algorithm were used. By testing and fitting the model with the data obtained from the operation of POSCO #2 steelmaking plant, the dynamic model was able to predict the characteristics of the main components in the LD converter. 분포형모델을 이용한 지형특성변화에 따른 유출해석

  • 분석에 이용된 격자망은 동곡, 고로, 미성, 병천, 효령 및 무성지점에 각각 12개, 30개, 45개, 76개, 46개 및 1265개의 조격자를 구성하였으며 하천의 수로방향 및 경사형태를 세분화하기 위하여 각 지점에 대하여 8개, 24개, 24개, 44개, 12개 및 64개의 세격자로 분할하였다. AGNPS를 이용한 첨두유량의 모의발생 결과치가 동곡, 고로, 미성, 병천, 효령 및 무성지점에서 측정값과 비교하여 각 호우사상별로 상대오차가 1.0~25.0%, 4.0~27.0%, 7.0~29.2%, 2.0~23.9%, 3.0~25.0% 및 3.6~21.0%의 차이를 나타내었다. 분석결과에서 AMCII조건에서는 관측치와 분석결과치가 유사하게 나타났으나 AMCI조건에 대해서는 상대적으로 작은 값을 보였으며 AMCIII조건에서는 다소 큰 값으로 분석되었다. SCS방법에서 제안하는 AMC조건별 CN값을 우리 실정에 적합하도록 수정 보완하기 위한 수정 유출곡선지수 $CN_{m}$ /I과 $CN_{m}$/III을 재구성하였으며, 여기에 적용되는 수정 유출 곡선지수식의 계수 a를 추정한 결과, 기왕에 발표된 연구결과와 거의 일치된 경향을 나타내었다. 제안된 수정 CN식을 이용하여 산정한 결과치와 관측치는 거의 유사하게 나타났다. AGNPS모델에 의한 유출량 산정에 있어 수문학적 토양피복형수(CN)의 결정을 위하여 선행강우량과 토양의 공극율 및 지형인자인 각 셀마다의 유역경사를 이용하여 관계식(CN =f($X_1$, $X_2$, $X_3$))을 유도하였으며, 분석 결과에서 CN이 선행강우량과 가장 밀접한 관계가 있음을 알 수 있었으며 유역경사, 토양의 공극율 순으로 나타났다..88mg/$\ell$~의 범위로 나타났다. 무태교 지점에서의 총인의 농도는 0.52mg/$\ell$~0.99mg/$\ell$~의 범위이었다. 신천에 금호강물을 혼합한 이후에도 부유물질, 생화학적산소요구량, 암모니아태 질소, 총인 등의 농도가 개선되지 않았다. 즉 금호강물의 혼합은 신천수질환경사업소에서 배출되는 방류수에 함유되어 있을 2차 오염물질의 희석이라는 이점외의 수질개선효과는 확인되지 않았다.l years and a new type of transfer crane has been developed.
