An Analysis of Femme Fatale Image's Costume Form in Paintings viewed from DeLong's Theory (DeLong 이론에 의한 회화속 팜므 파탈 이미지의 복식 형태 분석)

  • This thesis, concerning Femme Fatale Images Costume Form in paintings viewed from DeLong's Theory, analyzed frequency and traits on the basis of DeLong's Form Observation Theory and drew out the result as followings. First, Costume Form was mostly open, whole, planer integration, rounded, and indeterminate. The styles were similar each other. Second, surface structure was expressed by line & shape, color, texture, and pattern of which color had the highest priority. Next, line & shape and texture had the priority in order. They were expressed through intereaction. Third, the traits of Costume Form were a similar color harmony or large light and darkness contrast+soft quality+interaction by ambiguous line & shape. So, Femme Fatale Image in paintings was expressed by soft and pure images and erotic images.

A Study of the Image in Men's Hairstyle Depending on Hair Color and Texture (색채와 질감에 따른 남성 헤어스타일 이미지 연구)

  • The objectives of this study were to investigate the images in men's hairstyle by hair color, tone, texture, and perceiver's gender, and to examine the characteristics of hairstyle appropriate to seasons. A quasi-experimental method by questionnaire was used, and the experimental design was $4{\times}3{\times}2{\times}2$(hair color$\times$tone$\times$texture$\times$perceiver's$\times$gender) factorial design. The subjects were 372 men and women in their 20s through 50s. five factors of men's hairstyle image were derived by factor analysis: individuality, dignity, romanticism, refinement, and activity. Black hair was perceived to be high in dignity and activity. Bright tone was perceived to be high in individuality, but low in dignity. Men's wave hair was perceived to be higher in individuality than straight hair, but lower in dignity. Perceiver's gender did not give significant influence on evaluation of all image factors. In brown, neutral tone was perceived to be higher in dignity. romanticism, and activity than dark or bright tone. In black, wave hair was perceived to be more refined than straight hair. Black hair matches with winter the most, and yellow matches with spring the most. In terms of tone, dark tone matches with winter; neutral tone matches with autumn; bright tone matches with summer. The results of this study verified that hair color and texture affect men's image perception, and matching hair colors are associated with seasons.

The Influence of the Interval of Polka Dots on the Image of Clothes - Focused on One-Piece Dress - (물방울무늬의 간격이 의복이미지에 미치는 영향 - 원피스드레스를 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is the image of clothing according to the change of the dots' interval was analyzed and its influence on the formation of the image of polka dots clothing was investigated. White waterdrop patterns were designed on the 12 kinds of black texture using Photoshop and CAD program in regular arrangement of diamond figure, composed of white waterdrop(0.5 cm, 1.0 cm, 1.5 cm and 2 cm in diameter) and interval(diameter : interval - 1 : 1, 1 : 2, 1 : 4). Applying above specification, the photograph stimulus of 12 kinds of X-line one-piece dress with wide square neckline and without sleeve or detailed ornament was presented on a screen in the same size as when putting it on. The image of polka dots clothes was investigated by questionnaire survey. The object of the study was 320 females aged between 16 and 29. Factor analysis, one-way ANOVA, Scheff$\acute{e}$ verication and two-way ANOVA using SPSS 10.0 were carried out for data analysis. The research finding are as follows. First, the image of polka dots clothing consists of 4 factors as aesthetics, brevity, dynamism and lightweight. Secondly, the interval of the dot has a great influence on the formation of the image of polka dots clothing. Lastly, the evaluations of the image of polka dots clothing were different depending on the age and physical image, the personal characteristics of the object of investigation.

  • The industry-wide development of digital technologies has also affected the textile and fashion industries immensely. The applications of 3D technology, virtual reality, and/or augmented reality systems have helped to create novel fashion brands based on the marriage of IT and textile/fashion industries. 3D digital virtual clothing systems have been developed to help the textile and fashion industries in terms of the planning, manufacturing, marketing and sales sectors. So far, most of the development effort for the 3d virtual clothing systems has been focused on the woven fabrics. The characteristics of woven fabrics differ from those of knitted fabric. Since the physical structures and mechanical properties of the knitted fabrics are definitely different from those of woven fabrics, the simulation process for the knitted fabrics should follow different approaches. The loops in a knitted fabric deform easily. The deformation results in a readily stretchable fabric appearance. Cloth simulation mostly employs models that approximate the mechanical properties of linear elastic planes. This simulation scheme does not, however, describe well enough the behavior of knitted fabrics, which deviate largely from the linear isotropic material characteristics. This study aims at characterizing the tensile deformation and surface textures of a knitted fabric product. Tensile deformation curves for the wale, course, and bias direction are analyzed. The surface texture of the knitted fabric is analyzed by using a 3-dimensional scanning device.

A Study on Consumer Complaints over Lables on children's Clothing (유.아동복 레이블의 불만에 관한연구)

  • This study investigated material the type(sewn-in stamped-on etc) of the label and its placement(location on the product) on children's clothing in order to survey consumer complaints to suggest the improvement. The data were collected from label-producing companies by surveying children's clothing displayed at department store as well as by questionnaire to 205 consumers who were mothers of preschool children. The results were as follows : 1. 100% polyester was the most used raw material for brand labels and nylon was for care labels. 2. Most brand labels were one piece labels and located inside the back of neck line by sewn-in either on the top on each sides or on all four sides, Care labels were usually sewn-in on the inside of left-side seam line. The texture of care label was softer than that of brand label and two pieces of care labels were widely used, 3. 67.3% of consumers complained of its stiffness while 36.1% of consumers complained of rough surface and edge 85.4% of consumers complained of an itch caused by brand labels and claimed to detach labels. For care labels 36.6% expressed displeasure of stiffness of labels while 39% complained of annoyance due to too many pieces of labels. 4. Major suggestions from the consumers were change of raw materials and relocation of brand labels. For the care labels changes of material form and type of labels were suggested and one piece of label and smaller size were preferable.

A Study on the Development of Fashion Sensibility (패션감성의 측정도구 개발에 관한 연구(제1보))

  • The purpose of this study was to develop the measurement of the fashion sensibility. The stimulus were 91 photos selected in fashion magazines and had dominant visual power under detail, color, texture and pattern in the elements of fashion design. The semantic differential scale was constructed bipolar 25 pairs. The obtained data were analyzed by cluster analysis, factor analysis, ANOVA and t-test. The results were as follows; 1. The hierarchical structure was combined a natural and interesting, sensitive and lovely fashion sensibility. 2. The constructing factors of fashion sensibility were found out as aesthetic value, maturity, character and femininity·masculinity.(total variance: 55.7%) 3. Fashion sensibility by elements of fashion design was significantly different regarding all factors. 4. Fashion sensibility by demographic variables sex, age, marriage, education, occupation and expenditure was significantly different regarding partial factors.

  • This study analyzed image components of make-up image between fashion and advertisement of Christian Dior, also, this study examined, compared and analyzed their aesthetic characters. Then, it researched whether brand image was shaped exactly as the same method or not. The study was theoretical and established method; using more than a graduate student-major in clothing and make up, survey$(2004.5{\sim}6.)$ and SPSS 10 program statistics method. As the results, in Dior fashion and make-up, this study analyzed the factors of shape, color, material and texture, and both of them indicated the aspects of chic, classic, gorgeous and romantic image. Also, consumers understood them as a same image. This demonstrated that Christian Dior fashion and make-up have been shaping toward a same image as a same meaning.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the trends of, the ugliness images expressed in Modern Make-up from 1995 to 2003, especially focusing on color, and to enlarge the possibility of expressions through formative elements such as shape·texture·details and to anticipate the prospect of the Make-up in the future. The results can be summarized as follows. First, Ugliness is the most negative aesthetic value which is lack of beauty, and ultimate beauty is achieved through the combination of beauty with ugliness. Second, the images of ugliness have been expressed in paintings and fashion. The 20 century paintings, representing the ugly shape are extremely exaggerated with yellow, red, black, blue, white, green. The shape have been distorted, deformed, destroyed. And Pluralism and De-constructivism with its traits of indeterminacy have become the background of ugliness images in Fashion.

  • This study was performed to help on the activation plan the purchase of apparel by shopping(catalog/TV/Internet) through investigating and analyzing elements related with apparel purchasing practice, purchasing satisfaction degree, and information demand. The subjects were 165 housewives residing in Cheongju who had bought apparel through home shopping more than once. The questionnaire survey was conducted from July to August, 2002. The results of this study were as follows: 1) Housewives had most a lot of occasions that purchased clothing through TV shopping among home shopping method. 2) Major clothing items that purchased through home shopping were underwear and casual wear. 3) Satisfaction for apparel product purchased via home shopping was difference partially item wise. 4) Respondents were satisfied with design, color, sewing state, but dissatisfied with size and materials. 5) When purchasing apparel through home shopping, respondents recognized the necessity of information on size, exchange/refund/returned policy, color, design, resolution of the product picture, care of instruction, texture and detail of apparel.
