  • Let R be an associative ring with identity, M a t.u.p. monoid with only one unit and ${\omega}:M{\rightarrow}End(R)$ a monoid homomorphism. Let R be a reversible, M-compatible ring and ${\alpha}=a_1g_1+{\cdots}+a_ng_n$ a non-zero element in skew monoid ring $R{\ast}M$. It is proved that if there exists a non-zero element ${\beta}=b_1h_1+{\cdots}+b_mh_m$ in $R{\ast}M$ with ${\alpha}{\beta}=c$ is a constant, then there exist $1{\leq}i_0{\leq}n$, $1{\leq}j_0{\leq}m$ such that $g_{i_0}=e=h_{j_0}$ and $a_{i_0}b_{j_0}=c$ and there exist elements a, $0{\neq}r$ in R with ${\alpha}r=ca$. As a consequence, it is proved that ${\alpha}{\in}R*M$ is unit if and only if there exists $1{\leq}i_0{\leq}n$ such that $g_{i_0}=e$, $a_{i_0}$ is unit and aj is nilpotent for each $j{\neq}i_0$, where R is a reversible or right duo ring. Furthermore, we determine the relation between clean and nil clean elements of R and those elements in skew monoid ring $R{\ast}M$, where R is a reversible or right duo ring.

  • Recently, the higher capacity waste heat recovery PDC clean ventilation system has a tendency which is increasing due to the excellent energy reduction in factory, big building, and so on. This system was developed to complement the room environment which is deteriorated. However, the researches and technologies about this system were not well studied. Specially, the characteristic for heat exchanger element used to this system were not well known. Therefore, this study was carried out to evaluate the mechanical properties of the heat exchanger element as the core parts compose of this system. From results, tensile strength and elongation of the plate type heat exchanger element had about 10.11~14.32 kgf/$mm^2$ and 8.0~16.2%, respectively.

  • An element of a ring is called strongly nil clean provided that it can be written as the sum of an idempotent and a nilpotent element that commute. We characterize, in this article, the strongly nil cleanness of $2{\times}2$ and $3{\times}3$ matrices over $R[x]/(x^2-1)$ where $R$ is a commutative local ring with characteristic 2. Matrix decompositions over fields are derived as special cases.

  • A *-ring R is called (strongly) *-clean if every element of R is the sum of a projection and a unit (which commute with each other). In this note, some properties of *-clean rings are considered. In particular, a new class of *-clean rings which called strongly ${\pi}$-*-regular are introduced. It is shown that R is strongly ${\pi}$-*-regular if and only if R is ${\pi}$-regular and every idempotent of R is a projection if and only if R/J(R) is strongly regular with J(R) nil, and every idempotent of R/J(R) is lifted to a central projection of R. In addition, the stable range conditions of *-clean rings are discussed, and equivalent conditions among *-rings related to *-cleanness are obtained.

  • An associative ring R with identity is called a clean ring if every element of R is the sum of a unit and an idempotent. In this paper, we introduce the concept of f-clean rings. We study various properties of f-clean rings. Let C = $\(\array{A\;V\\W\;B}\)$ be a Morita Context ring. We determine conditions under which the ring C is f-clean. Moreover, we introduce the concept of rings having many full elements. We investigate characterizations of this kind of rings and show that rings having many full elements are closed under matrix rings and Morita Context rings.

  • An element in a ring R is strongly clean provided that it is the sum of an idempotent and a unit that commutate. In this note, several necessary and sufficient conditions under which a $2{\times}2$ matrix over an integral domain is strongly clean are given. These show that strong cleanness over integral domains can be characterized by quadratic and Diophantine equations.

  • In this paper, an electromagnet which is used in maglev(magnetic levitation) clean lift is designed and described. The electromagnet is firstly designed by using FEM(finite element method) tool and the simulation results are presented. The nominal airgap is 5mm and the nominal current is 2A. Also, the nominal magnetic force is 200N. From the results, we can get the electromagnet as an actuator used in maglev(magnetic levitation) clean lift for LCD process.

Using Volunteer Programs to Encourage the Adoption of Clean Technologies in the United States

  • The paper reviews the movement in the United States to supplement environmental regulations with volunteer programs that encourage institutions and industry to go beyond compliance to achieve greater reductions in their waste and emissions than might otherwise be accomplished through the exclusive reliance on increasingly rigorous "end of the pipe" regulations. These volunteer programs have as a common element the encouragement of "pollution prevention" as a preferable strategy. Pollution prevention is a term used in the US to describe strategies, technologies, policies, etc. that focus on eliminating waste and emissions at the source rather than just treating and controlling them. In some countries the term "Clean Technologies" is used rather than pollution prevention. In the paper the author reviews selected voluntary programs and reports on accomplishments to date for those programs.

  • The objective of this study is to analyze, design and evaluate a new gas cleanup or sampling system that will remove erosive, corrosive, and fouling contaminants present in an effluent stream as either solid or liquid particles providing a clean gas stream. The gas clean-up or sampling system considered in this study is an irrigated, rotating element device. The device consists of a central disk-like hub from which emanate radially wires or cylindrical elements. (omitted)

  • In this paper, we introduce a class of rings generalizing unit regular rings and being a subclass of semipotent rings, which is called idempotent unit regular. We call a ring R an idempotent unit regular ring if for all r ∈ R - J(R), there exist a non-zero idempotent e and a unit element u in R such that er = eu, where this condition is left and right symmetric. Thus, we have also that there exist a non-zero idempotent e and a unit u such that ere = eue for all r ∈ R - J(R). Various basic characterizations and properties of this class of rings are proved and it is given the relationships between this class of rings and some well-known classes of rings such as semiperfect, clean, exchange and semipotent. Moreover, we obtain some results about when the endomorphism ring of a module in a class of left R-modules X is idempotent unit regular.
