비대칭 단면을 갖는 박벽 곡선보의 자유진동 해석 (Free Vibration Analysis of Thin-walled Curved Beams with Unsymmetric Cross-section)

  • 비대칭 박벽단면을 갖는 곡선보의 자유진동해석을 수행할 수 있는 유한요소 이론 및 엄밀해를 제시하기 위하여 가상일의 원리를 이용한 3차원 연속체의 운동방정식을 제시한다 박벽단면의 구속된 비틂효과를 고려하는 박벽 곡선보의 변위장을 도입하고 이를 연소체의 운동방정식에 대입하여 단면에 대해 적분함으로써 박벽 곡선보의 운동방정식을 유도한다. 단순지지되고 일축대칭단면을 갖는 박벽 곡선보의 면내 자유진동 모드에 대응하는엄밀해를 산정하였으며 곡선보를 유한요소로 분할하여 요소의 변위장을 요소 변위벡터에 관한 3차의 Hermitian 다항식으로 나타내고 이를 운동방정식에 대입함으로써 탄성강도행렬과 질량 행렬을 유도한다 또한 본 연구에서 얻어진 엄밀해와 곡선보요소를 이용한 유한요소 해석결과를 직선보요소 및 ABAQUS의 쉘요소를 이용하여 얻어진 결과와 비교 검토를 함으로써 본 연구의 타당성을 입증한다.

  • This paper deals with the free vibrations of horizontally curved beams with mu1tiple elastic springs. Taking into account the effects of rotatory Inertia and shear deformation. differential equations governing the free vibrations of such beams are derived, In which each e1astic spring is modeled as a discrete Winkler foundation with very short longitudinal length. Differential equations are solved numerically to calculate natural frequencies and mode shapes. In numerical examples, the circular, Parabolic. sinusoidal and elliptic curved beams are considered. The parametric studies are conducted and the lowest four frequency parameters are reported In tables and figures as the non-dimensional forms. Also the typical mode shapes are presented.

  • In order to automate straightening process of deflected beams an adaptive three-point bending controller is studies which estimates and controls springback of beams under three-point bending. An analytical load-deflection model for three-point bending of beams with circular cross sections is derived nondimensionally. In spite of variation of material and process parameters this model can be applied to springback estimation by measuring real-time values of reactive load and deflection of the beam. A hydraulic punch stroke controller is designed to take real-time controls of the permanent deflection of the beam. The validity of the proposed system is verified through experiments.

  • 미분구적법을 이용하여 전단변형을 고려하지 않은 단면적이 변하는 곡선 보의 면내 자유진동을 해석하였다. 다양한 경계조건 및 굽힘 각에 따른 진동수를 계산하였고, 그 결과를 다른 수치해석들과 비교하였다. 미분구적법은 비교적 적은 요소를 사용하고도 정확한 해석결과를 보여주었고, 수정된 결과를 추가적으로 제시하였다.

  • We firstly develop a straightforward method to generate full $Poincar{\acute{e}}$ beams with any polarization geometry over an arbitrary order $Poincar{\acute{e}}$ sphere. We implement this by coaxial superposition of two orthogonal circular polarized beams with alternative topological charges with the help of a Mach-Zehnder interferometer. Secondly we find the existence of singularity points. And the inner relationship between their characteristics and the order of $Poincar{\acute{e}}$ spheres is also studied. In summary, this work provides a convenient and effective way to generate vector beams and to control their polarization states.

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate the free vibrations of horizontally curved beams resting on Winkler-type foundations. Based on the classical Bernoulli-Euler beam theory, the governing differential equations for circular curved beams are derived and solved numerically. Hinged-hinged, hinged-clamped and clamped-clamped end constraints are considered in numerical examples. The free vibration frequencies calculated using the present analysis have been compared with the finite element's results computed by the software ADINA. Numerical results are presented to show the effects on the natural frequencies of curved beams of the horizontal rise to span length ratio, the foundation parameter, and the width ratio of contact area between the beam and foundation.

  • This paper deals with the free vibrations of circular curved beams with thin-walled cross-section. The differential equation for the coupled flexural-torsional vibrations of such beams with warping is solved numerically to obtain natural frequencies and mode shapes. The Runge-Kutta and determinant search methods, respectively, are used to solve the governing differential equation and to compute the eigenvalues. The lowest three natural frequencies and corresponding mode shapes are calculated for the thin-walled horizontally curved beams with hinged-hinged, hinged-clamped, and clamped-clamped end constraints. A wide range of opening angle of beam, warping parameter, and two different values of slenderness ratios are considered. Numerical results are compared with existing exact and numerical solutions by other methods.

탄성지반으로 부분 지지된 곡선보의 자유진동 (Free Vibrations of Curved Beams Partially Supported on Elastic Foundation)

  • This paper deals with the free vibrations of horizontally curved beams partially supported on elastic foundations. Taking account of the effects of rotatory inertia and shear deformation, differential equations governing the free vibrations of such beams are derived, in which the Pasternak foundation model is considered as the elastic foundation. Differential equations are numerically solved to calculate natural frequencies and mode shapes. The experiments were performed in which the free vibration frequencies of such curved beams in laboratorial scale were measured and these results agreed quite well with the present studies. In numerical examples, the circular, parabolic, sinusoidal and elliptic curved members are considered. The parametric studies are performed and the lowest four frequency parameters are reported in tables and figures as the non-dimensional forms. Also the typical mode shapes are presented.

A study on natural frequencies and damping ratios of composite beams with holes

  • In this study, free vibration and damping characteristics of composite beams with holes are investigated, experimentally and numerically. Two types of samples with different fabrics are used: unidirectional and woven. The effects of diameter, number and location of circular holes on the vibration characteristics of composite beams are examined. The effects of rotation angle and minor to major diameter ratio of the elliptical hole are also investigated numerically. Moreover, the mode shapes of all types of beams are obtained numerically. According to the results, the natural frequency decreases with increasing hole diameter but increases very little with increasing the distance between the hole center and the clamped end. Damping ratio decreases by increasing the diameter of hole. But it fluctuates by increasing the diameters of holes of beam having three holes. Furthermore it decreases by increasing the distance between hole center and clamped end except for the range 50 mm to 100 mm.

  • The development of accelerator science and technology has been accommodating ever increasing demand from scientific community of the beam energy and intensity of proton beams. The use of high-powered proton beams has extended from the traditional application of nuclear and high-energy physics to other applications, including spallation neutron source replacing nuclear reactor, nuclear actinide transmutation, energy amplification reactors. This article attempts to review development of proton accelerator, both linear and circular, and issues related to the proton beam energy, intensity as well as its output power. For related accelerator physics and technical review, one should refer to the recent article in the Reviews of Modem Physics [1]
