가정보육시설의 질적 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on The Quality of Family Child Care)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the current status of family child care. The status of family child care was explored in terms of general characteristics, program quality, and child behavior. The subjects were 17 family child care and their 102 children and 60 parents. Harms & Clifford's (1989) FDCRS(Family Day Care Rating Scale) was used to measure program quality. Child behavior was recorded by time sampling in two 30 min observations during the free play session in each facility. A questionnaire for caregiver and parents was used to investigate general characteristics. The data were analysed by frequency, percentage, and Pearson's r. Results showed that (1) a wide range of variable accounted for the general characteristics of family child care, (2) the level of program quality as rated by the FDCRS was below mid-point, (3) children engaged in solitary behavior much more than in peer interactions or caregiver-child interactions.

보육시설장의 변혁적 지도성에 관한 연구 (Child Care Center Director's Transformational Leadership)

  • The purpose of this research was to investigate factors related to the child care center director's transformational leadership and differences of the awareness about transformational leadership between child care center directors and teachers. A survey was conducted using the questionnaire developed by Lee suk-kyung (1997). Results of this research showed that type of child care center, number of children in the program, director's age, educational degree and years of career related to child care, affected the child care director's transformational leadership as recognized by themselves. From a teacher's point of view, director's transformational leadership was influenced by director's age, educational degree, and years of career related to child care. In addition, different level of awareness about director's transformational leadership between child care directors and teachers was found. Based on the result, a program to enhance director's leadership is strongly needed.

임산부 한의약건강증진프로그램의 효과 (Effect of Korean medicine health promotion program for maternal health)

  • Objectives: The aim of this study is to survey on the effect of Korean medicine health promotion program for maternal health. Methods: We conducted Korean medicine health promotion program for maternal health to pregnant women who agreed to participate in this program among 10 public health center. Before and after program, we surveyed the Knowledge Score of Maternal Health Care, Practice of Health Behavior, (Traditional) Child Care Recognition, Depression, Child Caring Confidence and analyzed DID(Difference In Difference). Results: The Knowledge Score of Maternal Health Care of intervention group was improved about 1 point. The improvement of (Traditional) Child Care Recognition was significant. Depression score of intervention group was improved high significantly. The Child Caring Confidence of intervention group was improved about 1.3 point. Conclusion: As a result of analyzing the effect of Korean medicine health promotion program for maternal health, it is confirmed that this program can have an impact on improving Knowledge Score of Maternal Health Care, (Traditional) Child Care Recognition, Depression, Child Caring Confidence. It will be necessary to continue and develop this program widely.

보육교사 대상 방문 및 스마트폰 앱 기반 감염예방교육 프로그램 효과: 비무작위 대조군설계 (Effect of Visiting and a Smartphone Application Based Infection Prevention Education Program for Child Care Teachers: A Non-Randomized Controlled Trial)

  • Purpose: This study was performed to develop an infection prevention education program for child care teachers and to verify its effects. Methods: The study was conducted using a nonequivalent control group with a pretest-posttest design. Four private daycare centers (2 centers per city) that were alike in terms of the number of children by age, number of child care teachers, and child care environment were chosen. Participants were assigned to the experimental group (n=20) or control group (n=20). As a part of the program, visiting education (90 min) was provided in the 1st week, and smartphone application education (10 min) was provided thrice a week, in the 2nd and 3rd weeks. Results: Child care teachers' self-efficacy for infection prevention revealed a significant interaction effect between the group and time of measurement (F=21.62, p<.001). In terms of infection prevention behavior, a significant difference was observed between the experimental and control groups (z=-5.36, p<.001). Conclusion: The program implemented in this study was effective in improving the infection prevention self-efficacy and infection prevention behavior of child care teachers. Thus, this program may be effective in enhancing their infection control.

신생아돌보기프로그램이 결혼이주여성 임산부의 양육지식, 양육스트레스 및 양육효능감에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Newborn Care Education Program on Child-rearing Knowledge, Child-rearing Stress, and Child-rearing Self-efficacy of Immigrant Pregnant Women)

  • Purpose: This study was designed to evaluate the effects of a newborn care education promotion program on child-rearing knowledge, child rearing stress, and child rearing self-efficacy of immigrant pregnant women. Methods: The subjects were 23 immigrant pregnant women who voluntarily participated in the study in D city. The program was provided, once a week for 90 minutes for a period of 3 weeks. The outcome variables were child-rearing knowledge, child-rearing stress, and child rearing self-efficacy. Data was collected from April 4 to June 24, 2011, through self-administered questionnaires. Results: The program significantly improved child rearing knowledge, child rearing stress, and newborn care self-efficacy for married immigrant pregnant women who participated in the program compared to women who did not participate. Conclusion: The results suggest that the reproductive health promotion program has an affirmative effect on child-rearing knowledge, child rearing stress, and child rearing self-efficacy of married immigrant pregnant women. It is suggested, therefore, that the educational program be presented to married immigrant woman at public health centers to enhance their confidence in child-rearing.

영유아 보육시설의 영양관리 시범 사업(II) : 영양상태 개선 효과 (Improved Nutritional Status of Children by Nutritional Management Programs at Child Care Centers in Korea)

  • The study was carried out to assess whether the nutritional management program by dietician at child center can affect nutritional status of children at child care center. The diet intakes were measured by mother\`s record at home and by direct weighing at child care centers, and the hight and weight of children were measured before and after nutritional management program for 3months to see the effects. The energy intakes were significantly increased 56.29 Kcal after program, and protein 3.61g, lipid 3.12 g, calcium 49.71mg, iron 0.39 mg, vitamin B$_1$ 0.084 mg, vitamin B$_2$ 0.116 mg, and vitamin C 10.10 mg, respectively, except vitamin A and niacin. the significant changes of nutrient intakes were more at higher age group compared to at the lower age group, and more at girls compared to boys, Although the significant increase fo nutrient intakes at child care center, most nutrient intakes at home were not significantly changed, except energy, lipid, iron, vitamin A. The changes at changes of fat and calcium intakes for 3 months were positively correlated to the change of Z-score for weight, and the change of A-score for weight was positively correlated to changes of Z-score for height. The results showed that the nutritional management program for 3 month at child care center can increase nutrient intakes significantly and the incresed nutrient intakes can enhance children\`s growth. 영아반 초임보육교사의 전문성지원 교사교육프로그램이 전문성 및 자아존중감과 교수효능감에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of a Teacher Education Program for Professionalism Support for Beginning Child Care Teachers in Charge of Toddler Classes on Self-respect, Efficacy in Teaching and Professionalism)

  • Objective: This study tried to find out if a teacher education program that supports professionalism for beginning child care teachers in toddler classes is effective in professionalism, self-respect, and efficacy in teaching. Methods: The study subjects were 40 beginning child care teachers in toddler classes teaching in day care centers in Seoul, Incheon, and Gwangmyeong Gyeonggi-do. They were divided into an experimental group (20 teachers) and a comparative group (20 teachers). The collected data were applied to the SPSS 22.0 program. To find homogeneity of the two groups, a t-test was conducted. To analyze an intergroup difference, ANCOVA was conducted in the way of setting a pre-test score as a covariate. Results: The experimental group which participated in the program showed more positive effects than the comparative group in terms of professionalism, self-respect, and efficacy in teaching. Conclusion/Implications: Based on the results of this study, the program is expected to be meaningful in the field of early childhood education, and to lay the foundation for beginning child care teachers in toddler classes to become experts in their field.

학령기 아동을 위한 방과후 탁아 프로그램 연구 (Developing an After-School Child Care Program)

  • This study assessed the needs and aspirations for after-school programs for 421 employed mothers with a school-age child. Furthermore, 20 cases of after-school programs presently opened in Seoul and Kyungkido were analyzed and evaluated in terms of the factors related to quality of child care programs. A tentative after-school program model was developed on the basis of data from the assesment of parental requests and the evaluation of the present programs. The objectives of after-school programs, program activities, caregiver's role, group constellation, supervision of the programs, and care service time were discussed in the model.

초등학생 방과후 돌봄 서비스 분석과 개선방안 (Analysis of an After-school Care Service Program for Elementary School Children and Suggestions for Improvement)

  • The purpose of this research is to suggest some measures to improve policy issues by analyzing policy related to a child care service program in the community. Gilbert and Terrell's social policy analysis framework is used to analyze an after-school care service program for elementary school children. Furthermore, the Elementary Care Class(including the After-school Program), Youth After-school Academy, and Community Child Center, referred to as public care services, are employed to analyze community care service programs for children. The Elementary Care Class, Youth After-school Academy and Community Child Center are very similar in terms of the contents and application of the care service program for children, and mainly serve children in low-income groups. In addition, although user overlapping is an inevitable problem because the operating time of the Elementary Care Class and After-school Program coincides with that of the Youth After-school Academy and Community Child Center, it is structurally very hard to adjust the content of service, operating time, and so on because of differences in the delivery system for each program. Therefore, it is necessary to generate a unified delivery system to manage after-school care service programs for children and create a new special control tower to solve these problems. Furthermore, it is needed to extend the services to children from general double-income family, which is a blind spot of the care service.

보육보조금의 효과 분석: 영아기본보조금을 중심으로 (An Evaluation of a Basic Subsidy Program for Infants)

  • 보육보조금은 일반적으로 여성의 노동시장참여를 용이하게 해주려는 것과 아동이 양질의 보육 및 교육 환경에서 돌보아지는 것을 돕는 목표로 지급된다. 본 연구는 보육시설을 이용하는 영아가구에 보육료를 지원하는 영아기본보조금의 효과를 살펴봄으로써 영아기본보조금이 그 정책목표를 달성하고 있는지 검토한다. 기본보조금이 2006년 민간보육시설에만 도입되었고 유아는 제외하고 영아에게만 지급된다는 준실험적(Quasi-Experiment) 설정을 이용하여 시설 측면과 가구 측면의 효과를 분석한다. 분석 결과, 보조금으로 인해 영아의 이용비중이 높은 보육시설에서는 교사의 처우 및 시설환경이 개선되는 등의 효과가 나타났으나 여성의 노동공급에는 거의 영향을 미치지 않았고, 수요자의 보육만족도에도 부정적 영향을 미친 것으로 나타났다.
