Correlations between Users' Characteristics and Preferred Features of Web-Based OPAC Evaluation

  • This paper examines the correlations between user characteristics and their perferences for two selected features of Web-based OPAC systems. User characteristics identified in this study were age, gender, educational status, computer skills and OPAC experience. Usability features included interaction styles, character and image on screen, browsing and navigating style, screen layout, and ease of learning, whereas availability features attended to availability of information, quality of information and up-to-date information. Individual variables and features are described, and the correlation between the variables and the features are explored using Pearson's correlation coefficient(r). Although based on a small-scale sample survey, a considerably large number of statistically significant correlations were found between the users' characteristics and the selected evaluation features of interactive Web-based OPACs. From these observations, it seems to be suitable to recommend that system designers should make a more considered appraisal of the users' demographic characteristics in the design of the new generation of OPAC such as in user-tailored interactive Web-based OPAC systems.

주거지역에 따른 여자고등학생의 라이프스타일과 의생활 탐색 -서울과 인천을 중심으로 하여- (Lifestyle and Clothing Behavior of Female High school Students according to Residential Area)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences of lifestyle and clothing behavior of high school girls according to their residential area. The focus group interview was executed with 29 high school students and picture analysis was carried with 400 pictures of their outfits on weekends. The results show that they borrow their clothing one another taking turns, and there has lesibean dress code in common regardless of residential area. Students residing in Seoul wear brand products, and buy at department store, discount store and the stores in Myongdong or Sinchon, while students residing in Inchon wear Bose products, and buy at the stores in subway. Most of adolescents wear easy casual, and those of Inchon sometimes wear formal with high heel and young character casual, and often wear make up and get hair permanant/dyeing.

한국 전통기물을 이용한 Found Objects 개념의 가구디자인 제안 (A Study on Found Objects Furniture with Korean Traditional Objects)

  • There are several way to classify the furniture. The furniture can be classified into use, style, and function, but if the furniture is classified into the way of production, it can be the industrial furniture and the studio furniture. Especially, technology and function of the furniture are important elements in industrial furniture. However, it could be considered artists' character and concept as more important elements in the studio furniture. The studio furniture had come out one of the historical movement in American furniture field after the World War II. This case to apply found objects began to increase after the 1970s. Using objects In furniture design field had built up sprightly after end of 1950s. This expression could be the statement of new expression that essential properties of matter in objects is removed. I try to suggest original and interesting furniture design to apply found objects in this thesis. Especially, I use the Korean traditional objects for the furniture and try to make their essential function to be changed. Also, I focus on furniture design to have formative element in their shapes.

  • This design plan aims at the designing of the pharmacy counter as the space in which the two inter-related elements of the pharmacy, for example, the pharmacist and the customers, selling medicines and transmitting health informations, etc. keep in contact with each other. To create an ambience of intercommunication for health care and relaxation, it must be set up the basic concepts like Functionality, Flexibility, Transparence and Material-Change. As the design solutions : - first of all the long counter must be divided into the independent places with character and function. - in accordance with the basic concepts functionality and flexibility each small counter must represent a one's own form language that is determined according to a given function and also open and flexible to the change of the situation. - the various kinds of display module are introduced to bring out the functionality and the aestheticity simultaneously. - to make a contrasting image to each other various materials are arranged on and around the counters.

고려 초중기 기녀의 고증복식 캐릭터 연구 (A Study on the Design of Gisaeng Costume in Early-Middle Goryeo Dynasty)

  • This study was undertaken to design Ginyeo's character and costume in the early-middle Goryeo Dynasty which had a few relics, and to make practical cultural contents. The famous Goryeo Ginyeos who had real names are costume characters. Goryeo women dressed in delicate white ramie jarket in "Goryeo-dokyung", and the shape of Jacket can be two kinds: long-wide jacket enough to tie a belt, and long caftan cover the knee. Goryeo women enjoyed wide yellow skirt, but Ginyeo in "Dongguk-isanggutjip" put on pink, flower, pomegranate, red skirt for high class ladies. In the case of Mong-su(a head cloth with black gauze train), it is thought that Ginyeo fold up train like lower class or just hang down like ordinary women, because of their status. As underwear, a ramie jacket and wide underpants were set up. It is needed that many Golden bells and jade trinkets must be attached to Goryeo Ginyeo's waist to stress their characteristics. Ginyeo's hair style can be designed so that a bunch of right hair was dropped down and the rest hair was rolled on reft shoulder. To design a Ginyeo's costume chatacter of the early-middle Goryeo, the richness of wide skirt, delicacy of white ramie, a great deal of trinkets must be emphasized correctly as a characteristic of Goryeo women's costume in that period.

여성의 외모가 직장생활에 미치는 영향 - 은행근무 대상자를 중심으로 - (The Effects of Physical Appearance of Business Women on their Career - Focused on the Women workers at Commercial Banks in Korea -)

  • With the women's education level higher and gender equality more promoted, women's opportunity of taking part in business is increasing. Entering the emotional age which counts self-image as being important, there is a view that woman's appearance has a direct relation to their social life. The research is to examine the hypothesis and important factors for women workers at banks for their successful career, that is, to verify the effects of women's appearances on their social life, furthermore, to help female applicants for a bank and the bank clerks have a desirable social life. The subjects were 200 male and 100 female bank clerks and the research was analyzed on the basis of a total of 300 questionnaires. The results are as follows: first, 52 percent of male subjects responded that the factors of "sociability" and "character and good manners" are the most important in social life, while 47 percent of female subjects answered the factor of "ability" is so. Second, 61.5 percent of male and 84 percent of female respondents answered that woman's appearance has a potent influence on their social life. Third, 76 percent of male and 90.9 percent of female respondents answered that when the companies employ woman workers, they take woman's appearance into consideration. It shows even at job interviews that good-looking applicants are in a better position, for bankers must consult with many customers and so their neat and tidy appearance such as their natural make-up and decent hair style (short-hair style) is one of significant factors to perform their jobs. Therefore, appearance managements are primary for women bankers to work at their workplace.

<배가본드>에 나타난 캐릭터의 대척적 구조화 전략: MBTI 성격유형론의 심리기능에 근거하여 (Antipodal Structuralization Strategy of Character Appearing in : Based on Psychological Functions of MBTI Personality Types Theory)

  • <배가본드>는 요시카와 에이지의 소설 <미야모토 무사시>를 원작으로 하는 만화이다. 1998년부터 연재를 시작한 이래 단행본으로는 현재 34권까지 출간되었으며 권 평균 170만부로 누적 판매량 5400만부 이상을 기록한 대작이다. <배가본드>는 '사람을 사람답게 그린다'는 작가의 원칙에 의하여, 캐릭터의 성격을 자연스럽게 따라가는 방식으로 서사를 진행하기 때문에 매우 독특한 캐릭터라이징 특징을 보인다. 본 연구는 <배가본드>의 수많은 캐릭터들이 강렬한 개성을 갖고 있음에도 불구하고, 대척 관계의 캐릭터 구도 설정을 통해 구조적 균형을 유지하고 있다는 것에 주목했다. 이러한 캐릭터의 관계를 분석하기위해 심리검사 도구인 MBTI 성격유형론을 분석틀로 활용하였다. 먼저 MBTI의 기질적 특성으로 성격유형을 추론하고, 가장 중요하다고 여겨지는 심리기능인 인식과 판단의 조합을 기준으로 대척적 캐릭터 구도를 분석하고자 했다. 이를 통해 캐릭터에 적용된 3가지 구조를 찾을 수 있었다. (1) 중심캐릭터 무사시와 거울캐릭터 코지로의 대척성이 작품의 중심을 이룬다는 점, (2) 그들의 양육자와 멘토 역할 캐릭터의 대척관계는 무사시와 코지로의 캐릭터성을 확장한다는 점, (3) 무사시와 코지로에게 영향을 주고받는 역할로서 요시오카 일문 역시 대척적 구도로 설정되었다는 점이다. 이와 같이 <배가본드>는 대비를 이루는 캐릭터들의 쌍이, 마치 변증법적 합을 이루듯이 설정되었다는 결론을 도출할 수 있었다. 이와 같이 <배가본드>에서 나타난 캐릭터 구도의 대척적 구조화 전략은, 개성 있는 수많은 캐릭터의 내면을 차별화하며 깊은 수준으로 묘사할 수 있게 했다고 여겨진다. 끝으로 비평과 흥행에서 성공한 만화와 애니메이션 분야의 작품들은 캐릭터 중심이라는 공통된 흐름을 읽을 수 있는데, 이는 소설이나 영화와는 구별되는 특성으로서 캐릭터에 대한 수요자의 관심이 상대적으로 높기 때문이라고 판단할 수 있다. 따라서 캐릭터라이징 분석 결과를 데이터베이스화하여 콘텐츠 생산 시 참고할 수 있기를 기대한다.

E-branding관점에서 본 감정이입 가상 캐릭터의 연구 (A Study on virtual character from the viewpoint of E-branding)

  • 아바타로 불리는 가상 캐릭터가 새로운 비즈니스 모델로 각광을 받고 있으나 역사가 일천한 관계로 아직 충분한 연구가 이루어지지 않고 있는 실정이다. 한국을 시작으로 인터넷상에서의 아바타의 E-transaction 시대가 도래했고 점차 아시아뿐만 아니라 유럽까지 그 사업 영역을 확장해 가고 있다. 디자이너는 이제 단지 기능적인 디자인이 아닌 시장을 바로 읽고 폭넓은 시각을 가지면서 또한 가상 공간에 존재하고 있는 잠재 고객들을 어떤 경로와 유인과정을 통해서 직접적인 구매를 창출시킬 수 있는가를 연구해야 할 시점이다. 이에 사용자로 대변되는 잠재고객과 만나는 접점에 디자인이 존재하고 있음은 명징한 사실이다. 지금까지는 가상공간에서의 가치창조(Value-Creation)는 주로 마케팅부가 고민해야 할 일로 여겨져 왔지만 21세기의 키워드로 떠오르는 E-branding, Personalization, Individualism, Network 등 어느 하나도 디자인을 배제하고서는 논의되어질 수 없는 상황이며 촉매제(Catalyst)로서 디자인의 역할은 더욱 그 중요성을 더한다고 하겠다. 이에 본 연구자는 가상공간에서 감정이입을 촉발하는 캐릭터가 어떠한 방법으로 사용자에게 접근되어 지는지, 어떠한 기능을 가지고 체험, 관계 마케팅적으로 이해될 수 있는지를 온라인 브랜드 관점으로 해석해본다.

RFID/OCR 기반의 자동화 게이트시스템 개발 (Development of the automated gate system based on RFID/OCR in a container terminal)

  • 각국의 항만들은 중심항만으로 자리매김하기 위해 첨단기술을 항만건설, 하역장비, 운영시스템 등에 적용함으로써 항만 효율성 및 생산성 향상에 박차를 가하고 있다. 최근에는 RFID(radio frequency identification)와 OCR(optical character recognition) 기술의 등장으로 자동화 게이트시스템에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 국내에는 RFID 기술과 OCR 기술을 적용하여 컨테이너 터미널 게이트의 효율성 및 생산성을 향상시키고자 하는 연구과제들이 수행되고 있으나, 100%에 미치지 못하는 인식률 때문에 현실에 적용하기에 부족한 부분이 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 RFID와 OCR기술을 동시에 적용해 이들이 가진 장점을 활용한 RFID/OCR 기반의 자동화 게이트시스템을 개발하고, 이를 컨테이너 터미널 게이트에 적영하여 컨테이너 터미널 게이트의 인식업무를 개선시킬 수 있는 효율적인 게이트 운영 시스템을 제시하고자 한다.
