  • Recently, the importance of 'character' is widely acknowledged by practitioners and academic arena. Character is the archetype of design product. Unfortunately, however, there have been limited character design studies. The purpose of this study is to identify the components of character design and then to verify the causal relationships among them. The research model of the current study is developed based upon the past studies on the consumer response model related to the product design. The result of the study shows that the dimensions of character design are converged into upper dimensions, including such as character appearance, character image, and character attachment with each lower dimensions, respectively. An analysis of relationship among these variables indicates that while the character appearance tends to trigger character image, the character image leads to character attachment. In addition, both the character image and the character attachment have a positive influence on the loyalty of the character. Understanding of the paths among consumers' responses will be able to be a good guideline for establishing character design strategy. And, finally, the authors discuss some theoretical contributions and managerial implications.

  • This writing establishes identity of JinSeBaek, a male protagonist from a classical novel Hajinyangmunrok, through examining his relationship with a female character named HaOkJu. The character JinSeBaek was analyzed with attachment theory. JinSeBaek is a type of character who openly expresses his emotions. The evidence that JinSaeBaek falls in love with HaOkJu at a first sight was mainly shown through his physical affection with her. After the breakup, JinSeBaek expresses sadness, depression, and anger, as well as sheds tears. Although JinSeBaek repeatedly breaks up and gets back together with HaOkJu, JinSaeBaek consistently shows his desire to be with HaOkJu. Expressing true emotions was not ideal characteristic for men in this era. JinSaeBaek develops attachment to HaOkJu after he loses his parents, whom he has previously developed attachment to, but repeated break ups with HaOkJu leads to separation anxiety. Although his separation anxiety is caused by HaOkJu, it is also HaOkJu who can resolve the anxiety. The fact that JinSaeBaek honestly expresses his emotions and develops abnormal attachment to woman makes JinSaeBaek unique from other male protagonists. A character like JinSaeBaek is not common in other fictional novels or romance novels as well. Thus, JinSaebaek is claimed to be extraordinary character in literature.

  • This study was conducted to find out the degree of paternal attachment to neonate, and to identify factors affecting paternal attachment. The main purpose was to make the base data for nursing intervention to improve parternal attachment. The subjects of this study were 20 fathers whose partners have delivered premature neonate and 30 fathers whose partners have delivered normal neonate in 3 university hospitals in Seoul. Data were collected from Feb. 10 to Apr. 10 1994 by self report questionaires. The instrument for this study was based on 7 kinds of characteristics of paternal attachment by Greenberg St Morris(1974), and developed by re-searcher The statistical methods for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, 1-test, ANOVA with S.P.S.S. program. The conclusions are as follows. 1. Fathers had the high degree of paternal attachent to neonate, but were afraid of active touch. 2. The factors that affect paternal attachment were delivery odor, past experience about own father except delivery pattern, pregnancy plan, sex of nonate. 3. There were not significant correlations between paternal attachment and early visual contact frequency of father-neonate. 4. In the degree of paternal attachment, though normal neonate father showed somewhat higher result than premature neonate father, there was not statistically significant difference between two groups(t=-1.83, P=0.076). But in the character of tactail awarness there were significant differences between two groups, hence nursing interventions are needed to help the premature neonate's father bring early tactile con-tact. Pother research about factors affecting paternal attachment to neonate and high risk neonate as well as low birth weight neonate is reguired.

  • CF₄ molecular gas is used in most of semiconductor manufacture processing and SF/sub 6/ molecular gas is widely used in industrial of insulation field. but both of gases have defect in global warming. C₃F/sub 8/ gas has large attachment cross-section more than these gases, moreover GWP, life-time and price of C₃F/sub 8/ gas is lower than them, therefor it is important to calculate transport coefficients of C₃F/sub 8/ gas like electron drift velocity, ionization coefficient, attachment coefficient, effective ionization coefficient and critical E/N. The aim of this study is to get these transport coefficients for imformation of the insulation strength and efficiency of etching process. In this paper, we calculated the electron drift velocity (W) in pure C₃F/sub 8/ molecular gas over the range of E/N=0.1∼250 Td at the temperature was 300 K and gas pressure was 1 Torr by the Boltzmann equation method. The results of this paper can be important data to present characteristic of gas for plasma etching and insulation, specially critical E/N is a data to evaluate insulation strength of a gas.
