In construction of a large cross section NATM tunnel, to keep the tunnel face stability by the ground itself bench cut method is commonly used. In order to necessity of partial face excavation method, we have to look for more enhanced method that can maintain better stress intensity. This paper presents a stress distribution of the Center Diaphragm Method from the partial face excavation methods, with the numerical analysis, and induced the optimal face distance, which is minimizing stress concentration and the optimal excavation step. Commerical 3 dimensional continuum analyzing FLAC-3D Ver. 2.1 program is used for the analysis. Analyses were performed to investigate ground behavior for tunnels with variable bench-length varying from 2m to 40m.

Purpose : The enhancement of abdominal muscles increases the activation and contraction of respiratory muscles, including the diaphragm. Generally, diaphragm exercises are applied to increase the breathing ability of patients with respiratory disease. Previous studies have shown that breathing capacity can be increased through abdominal muscle strengthening exercises. However, studies on breathing ability are rare and it is doubtful whether these affect respiratory ability more than diaphragm exercises. Therefore, this study seeks to compare whether abdominal exercises can improve breathing ability and whether any increase is comparable to diaphragm exercises. Methods : After selecting subjects, the place of intervention was separated for blindness. The plank group was allowed to relax for 30 seconds after 30 seconds of planking; this was set at three and increased by one set each week. Subjects in the draw-in group were allowed to relax for 30 seconds after maintaining the draw-in contraction state for 30 seconds and this was done for 15 minutes. Subjects in the control group underwent abdominal dilation for five seconds of inspiration time and expired air for five seconds by exposing the lips; breathing was performed repeatedly for 15 minutes. Subjects in each group measured their respiration function three times before intervention, three weeks after the commencement of intervention and after intervention. Spirovit SP-1 was used to measure respiratory function. In each group, repeated ANOVA was used to compare the respiratory function over time and one-way ANOVA was used to compare the respiratory function between groups. The post hoc was conducted using the LSD method. Results : There was a significant increase in respiratory ability between the forced vital capacity (FVC), forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) and peak expiratory flow (PEF), forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1)/forced vital capacity (FVC) according to the six-week period. However, there was no difference between each group. Conclusion : For patients with low respiratory muscle strength, plank exercises and abdominal draw-in are beneficial exercises for improving respiratory function. These are expected to be widely used in clinical practice for patients with weak respiratory muscles.

In particle radiotherapy, a shape of the beam to conform the irradiation field is statically defined by the compensator, collimator and potal devices at the outside of the patient body. However the target such as lung or liver cancer moves along with respiration. This increases the irradiated volume of normal tissue. Prior discussions about organ motions along with respiration have been mainly focused on inferior-superior movement that was usually perpendicular to beam axis. On the other hand, the change of the target depth along the beam axis is very important especially in particle radiotherapy, because the range end of beam (Bragg peak) is so sharp as to be matched to distal edge of the target. In treatment planning, the range of the particle beam inside the body is calculated using a calibration curve relating CT number and water equivalent path length (WEL) to correct the inhomogeneities of tissues. The variation in CT number along the beam path would cause the uncertainties of range calculation at treatment planning for particle radiotherapy. To estimate the uncertainties of the range calculation associated with patient breathing, we proposed the method using sequential CT images with respiration waveform, and analyzed organ motions and WELs at patients that had lung or liver cancer. The variation of the depth along the beam path was presented in WEL rather than geometrical length. In analyzed cases, WELs around the diaphragm were remarkably changed depending on the respiration, and the magnitude of these WEL variations was almost comparable to inferior-superior movement of diaphragm. The variation of WEL around the lung was influenced by heartbeat.

In this study, ZnO nanorods and $SnO_2$-CuO heterogeneous oxide were grown on membrane-type gas sensor platforms and the sensing characteristics for carbon monoxide (CO) were studied. Diaphragm-type gas sensor platforms with built-in Pt micro-heaters were made using a conventional bulk micromachining method. ZnO nanorods were grown from ZnO seed layers using the hydrothermal method, and the average diameter and length of the nanorods were adjusted by changing the concentration of the precursor. Thereafter, $SnO_2$-CuO heterogeneous oxide thin films were grown from evaporated Sn and Cu thin films. The average diameters of the ZnO nanorods obtained by changing the concentration of the precursor were between 30 and 200 nm and the ZnO nanorods showed a sensitivity value of 21% at a working temperature of $350^{\circ}C$ and a carbon monoxide concentration of 100 ppm. The $SnO_2$-CuO heterogeneous oxide thin films showed a sensitivity value of 18% at a working temperature of $200^{\circ}C$ and a carbon monoxide concentration of 100 ppm.

This paper proposes a micro gas sensor for measuring $H_2S$ gas. This is based on a $SnO_2$-CuO multi-layer thin film. The sensor has a silicon diaphragm, micro heater, and sensing layers. The micro heater is embedded in the sensing layer in order to increase the temperature to an operating temperature. The $SnO_2$-CuO multi layer film is prepared by the alternating deposition method and thermal oxidation which uses an electron beam evaporator and a thermal furnace. To determine the effect of the number of layers, five sets of films are prepared, each with different number of layers. The sensitivities are measured by applying $H_2S$ gas. It has a concentration of 1 ppm at an operating temperature of $270^{\circ}C$. At the same total thickness, the sensitivity of the sensor with multi sensing layers was improved, compared to the sensor with one sensing layer. The sensitivity of the sensor with five layers to 1 ppm of $H_2S$ gas is approximately 68%. This is approximately 12% more than that of a sensor with one-layer.

In the case of horizontally curved bridges, the use of curved composite box girder bridges are increased due to its functionality and for aesthetical reason. As it compared with the open section, the steel box girder bridges have advantages to resistant of distortion and corrosion. In practice the grid analysis is conducted by utilizing only the cross beam. Since the stiffness of the concrete slab is not included in the grid analysis, the cross beam is induced the distribution of the live load. In this study the affects of the radius of curvature, the number of diaphragm and cross beam to the load distribution of the curved steel box girder bridge was investigated by applying the finite element method. The results indicate that the curvature of curved bridge had a large affect of the load distribution and as the curvature was increased the load distribution factor was increased. A single diaphragm at the center of girder is important role for the load distribution effects and structural stability, but additional diaphragm did not affect it as much. The affects of the cross beam to the load distribution were investigated and its influence was minor. It can be safely concluded that the addition of cross beam does not aid the purpose of the live load distribution. And the stiffness of concrete slab for the load distribution effects should be concerned in the design of curved steel box girder bridges.

With the development of display engineering and technology, the screen and sound quality of information devices such as TVs are improving. The screen used LEDs via LCD and PDP and a large flat panel in the early CRT to create super-high resolution. The sound is improved by directly vibrating a thin and simple panel, such as an OLED. In our previous study, the exciter speaker was attached to the rear of the OLED panel to be used as the diaphragm of the speaker, and the sound quality was as good as that of the TV using the existing dynamic speaker. This method supplied the viewer with the direct sound coming from the panel, delivering clear sound, and the sound and image came from the same location, thus giving the viewer high immersion and maximizing the effect of information transfer. OLED exciter speakers, however, have a special directivity, which tends to slightly attenuate the tone at the very center of the screen. This study improves the sound quality by improving the structure of the exciter speaker and the radiated sound of the flat panel display. A 2-in-1 Exciter is made into a single core to improve the speaker's radiation pattern.
A new planar-type microsensor, which had a platinum heater and a sensing layer on the same plane was fabricated on silicon substrate with stress-relieved PSG(phosphosilicate glass)/$Si_{3}N_{4}$(800nm/150nm) diaphragm. The proposed planar-type microsensor could be fabricated by simple silicon process using only 3 masks for photolithography process compared with 5 or 6 masks of the typical micro-gas sensor. The thermal properties of the microsensor from thermal simulation were compared with those of the fabricated microheater. Although there are some discrepancy between the simulation result and the result from the fabricated microheater, the thermal simulation by FEM was proved to be an useful method to evaluate the thermal properties of microheater. The sensing characteristics of the fabricated microsensor with the planar-type heater were investigated also.

Micronization of sensor is a trend of the silicon sensor development with regard to a piezoresistive silicon pressure sensor, the size of the pressure sensor diaphragm have become smaller year by year, and a microaccelerometer with a size less than 200~300${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ has been realized. Over the past four or five years, numerical modeling of microsensors and microstructures has gradually been developed as a field of microelectromechanical system(MEMS) design process. In this paper, we study some of the micromachining processes of single crystal silicon(SCS) for the microaccelerometer, and their subsequent processes which might affect thermal and mechanical loads. The finite element method(FEM) has been a standard numerical modeling technique extensively utilized in structural engineering discipline for component design of microaccelerometer. Temperature rise sufficiently low at the suspended beams. Instead, larger temperature gradient can be seen at the bottom of paddle part. The center of paddle part becomes about 5~2$0^{\circ}C$ higher than the corner of paddle and suspended beam edges.

Top of the alumina body which is made according to plan has been printed using a screen printer equipment in order to print an electrode pattern. The electrode is connected with the quartz crystal oscillator of the piezoelectricity method which has a piezoelectric characteristic. The pressure contact department has been experimented using three type of the teflon. The teflon is good for pressure delivery vector but it is bad restitution. So we devised the structure which inserts the metal in the teflon. Bottom of the module is connected with the signal processing department which is planned in advance and then has investigated to characteristic. Therefore we have got the best output-voltage and frequency characteristic follows in the pressure.
