  • In this paper, we present two methods for obtaining prediction intervals for the times to failure of units censored in multiple stages in a progressively censored sample from proportional hazard rate models. A numerical example and a Monte Carlo simulation study are presented to illustrate the prediction methods.

  • Multistate survival data with censoring often arise in biomedical experiments. In particular, a four-state space is used for cancer clinical trials. In a four-state space, each patient may either respond to a given treatment and then relapse or may progress without responding. In this four-state space, a model which combines the Markov and semi-Markov models is proposed. In this combined model, the generalized maximum likelihood estimators of the Markov and semi-Markov hazard functions are derived. These estimators are illustrated for the data collected in a study of treatments for advanced breast cancer.

  • In this paper, optimal change times are determined for fully three-step stress accelerated life tests, which minimize the asymptotic variance for maximum likelihood estimator of logarithm of the failure rate at the usual condition and exponential distribution is given for life time data.

  • In this paper we considered the problem of estimating the bivariate survival distribution of the random vector (X, Y) when Y may be subject to random censoring but X is always uncensored. Adapting conditional Koziol-Green model, simplified estimator for bivariate survival function is proposed. We perform simulation to compare the proposed estimator with popular estimators and discussed the performance of it.

  • We propose a nonparametric test procedure for checking the proportionality assumption between hazard functions using a functional equation. Because of the involvement of censoring distribution function, we consider the large sample case only and obtain the asymptotic normality of the proposeed test statistic. Then we discuss the rationale of the use of the functional equation, give some examples and compare the performances with Andersen's procedure by computing powers through simulations.

  • In this paper, we consider the asymptotic properties of regression quantile estimators for the nonlinear regression model when dependent variables are subject to censoring time, and propose the sufficient conditions which ensure consistency and asymptotic normality for regression quantile estimators in censored nonlinear regression model. Also, we drive the asymptotic relative efficiency of the censored regression model with respect to the ordinary regression model.

  • The problem of trend change in the failure rate is great interest in the reliability and survival analysis. In this paper we develop a test statistic for testing whether or not the failure rate changes its trend using random censored data. The asymptotic normality of the test statistic is established. We discuss the efficiency values of loss due to censoring.

  • Computational algorithms to calculate M-estimators and rank estimators of regression parameters from left-truncated and right-censored data are developed herein. In the case of M-estimators, new statistical methods are also introduced to incorporate leverage assements and concomitant scale estimation in the presence of left truncation and right censoring on the observed response. Furthermore, graphical methods to examine the residuals from these data are presented. Two real data sets are used for illustration.
