Resilience Evaluation of Vehicle Driving System Depending on System Architecture (차량 구동 시스템의 구조에 따른 resilience 분석)

  • The vehicle has lots of embedded systems. Each of systems has its own role. In case of the vehicle, simple failure of system can be critical to driver. Therefore all of embedded system should be managed based on importance factors to be effective. In this paper, we consider the resilience as the importance factor for the driving system with ACC(Adaptive Cruise Control). We propose metrics to calculate the resilience of the embedded system. To get the resilience of system, we calculate the reliability and the resilience of nodes in the system using its failure rate. The resilience of whole system can be presented by the resilience of nodes and its weight. We calculate the resilience and compare the centralized structure and the distributed structure.

Development of the Contingency Analysis Program of Korean Energy Management System (한국형 에너지 관리시스템용 상정고장 해석프로그램 개발)

  • This paper describes the development of robust contingency analysis program for Korean Energy Management System. The important function of contingency analysis is to determine the bus/branch model for contingency, and to calculate the state of the power network based on the network model and topology output. In the proposed method, the bus/branch models for contingencies are determined exactly using a fast linked-list method based on the application common model database. To calculate the state of the power system included contingency, the full-decoupled powerflow approach, the partial powerflow method for contingencies and the proposed contingency screening algorithm are also used to contingency analysis. To verify the performance of the developed processor, we performed a file-based test using several structured input data and online test using the database which resides on memory. The results of these comprehensive tests showed that the developed processors can accurately calculate the power system contingency state from online data and can be applied to Korea Power Exchange system.

  • In this paper, an automated structural design tool for evaluating torsional irregularity of Hanok has been developed using GUI based software. The theoretical basis on the determination of torsional irregularity of Hanok is based on the precedent research of one of the authors. The implemented system can provide useful decision criteria on the seismic design of Hanok in early design stage, and can improve flexibility and accessibility on the design of Hanok by helping designer evaluate seismic resistant characteristics according to various plan configurations and frame variations. The implemented system is consisted of the following procedures, that is, 1) define plan type, 2) define plan configuration, 3) calculate mass center, 4) define lateral resistant capacity of the frames and walls, 5) arrange lateral resistant elements in plan, 6) calculate stiffness center, 7) calculate eccentricity and allowable maximum eccentricity, and 8) evaluate torsional irregularity. The developed system was applied to the two cases of Hanok and the results showed the field-applicability.

  • Coupled transverse shaft vibrations have become the target of great concern in high powered ships such as container ships. Due to increasing ship's dimensions and high propulsive power, resonance frequencies of the propeller shaft system tend to decrease and can appear in some cases within the operating speed range of engine. In this connection, the coupled free transverse vibrations of shaft system in two planes are theoretically investigated. This shaft system carries a number of discs and is flexibly supported by a number of bearing stiffness are considered for the calculation. Transfer matrix method is applied to calculate the shaft responses in both planes. A digital computer program is developed to calculate the shaft responses of the coupled transverse vibrations in two planes. An experimental model shaft system is made. It is composed of a disc, shafts, ball bearings thrust bearings and flexible bearing supports. The shaft system is excited by an electrical magnet, and shaft vibration responses in two planes are measured with the strain gage system. From these measurements, the natural frequencies of the shaft system in both planes are found out. The developed program is also used to calculate the shaft vibration responses of experimental model shaft system. From the results of these calculations, the natural frequencies of shaft system in two planes are derived. Theoretical predictions of model shaft natural frequencies show good agreements with its esperimental measurements.

  • In this paper, the fast algorithm to calculate cutting force of milling and its application to NC verification system have been studied. The fast force algorithm can calculate the maximum cutting force fastly during one revelotion of tool. The NC verification using the fast force algorithm can verify excessive cutting force which is the cause of deflection and breakage of tool, and can so adjust the feed rate as to manufacture with the maximum force criterion or maximum machining error criterion. So, the fast force algorithm has been added to the NC verification system, the NC verification system can verify the physical problems in NC code effectively.

  • The stiffness of a suspension system is provided by the bushings and the stiffness of the wheel center controls the suspension's elasto-kinematic (e-k) specification. So the stiffness of the wheel center is very important, but the stiffness of the wheel center is very hard to measure. The paper give a new method that we can use the stiffness of the bushings to calculate the equivalent stiffness of the wheel center, which can quickly and widely be used in all kinds of suspension structure. This method can also be used to optimize and design the suspension system. In the example we use the method to calculate the equivalent stiffness of the wheel center which meets the symmetric and positive conditions of the stiffness matrix.

  • In this paper, to calculate accurate remaining volume, it presents how to figure out nickel-cadmium battery algorithm. A nickel-cadmium battery has widely been used in industrial field and to military. Recent high demands on the battery caused 'How to calculate accurate remaining volume is very important task to be solved. In this paper, it says it is useful using the terminal voltage change of the resistance that can be connected with the battery and the differentiation of the terminal voltage to calculate remaining volume of nickel-cadmium battery. And these can be used for volume inference data so that it is fuzzy based system which can be helpful to inference the remaining volume by the resistance of terminal voltage change. Because of electrochemical complexity, the volume calculating system is inferencing undirectly by experimentally built DB where as current the existing volume models are suffering to be adapted.

  • This paper describes the integrated dynamic stability(IDS) program for tuning the power system controllers, such as PSS, AVR and so on. IDS consists of three modules; power flow module, PWRLF, to calculate large scale power system load flow solutions, IDS/PSS module to calculate eigenvalues and frequency response in the range of frequency from 0.2Hz to 2Hz, and IDS/NEA module to calculate eigenvalues in the range of frequency from 5.0Hz to 55Hz. In addition, IDS provides graphic user interface(GUI) in order to let the user handle and analyze the input data and the results of calculation with convenience.

  • FTA is the most commonly used method among quantitative safety assessment. In case that the observing system become larger, a lot of terms should be calculated to accomplish FTA through complicated process. Many methods have been tried to reduce time, one of tries is How to calculate the reliability using graph theory after changing W to graph. This paper suggests an algorithm that can calculate more rapidly reliability and outset of system expressed by non-linear graph as like as FTA or CCA.
