  • Recently the rural women's role has been changed from assisting men to leading major farm work. However, contribution of women in the rural area has not beers fairly evaluated. Hence, it has been difficult for the rural women to receive the reasonable compensation if they injured, had some disasters or were divorced. Therefore this study tried to suggest economic methods such as market cost approach, opportunity cost method and shadow wage method for evaluating rural women's labor. It might provide some information for helping to establish the status of rural women as a income earner through estimating money value of labor contributed by rural women and furthermore, be useful information to improve the efficiency of farm labor by exploring the relationship between value of labor and actual income. Hence, it might help improve the economic situation and life at home of rural women, solve difficulties in the real life and reduce disparity of economic distribution between urban and rural area.

Moench), hairy vetch, etc. According to the effect of green manure crop grown in summer season, the biomass amount of the silage corn was the highest; 7,630 kg per 10a, the next was haussolgo, 5,620 kg per 10a. In terms of the fertilizer ingredients, the first of forage soybean was 3.84% of nitrogen, whereas hairy vetch was 1.74% of phosphate and kalium, 4.74%. Productivity increase of cabbages was the highest in the haussolgo plot of which the yield of showed 10,090 kg per 10a and the farm household income would be worth 8,053 thousand won. By growing forage crops in the winter season, the biomass amount was the highest in the mixed sowing plot with rye (50%) and hairy vetch (50%) of 3,590 kg per 10a, whereas the productivity in the mixed seeding with rye (70%) and hairy vetch (30%) was highest, 6,249 kg per 10a and the farm household income would be worth 7,387 thousand won. The“NONGCHON ILGAM GATCI”project has been progressing successfully when compared with other rural development projects. However, there are still some problems. Among the problems are the lack of a business mindset and management abilities in individuals, and the fact that the businesses and their products are not well hewn on the market. To remedy these problems, education toward improving business and management skills, a unified public relations system, and institutional support from the government are greatly needed.
