  • Smart card is a useful tool used in electronic payment systems and it is very important to test whether a smart card operates correctly. In this paper, we analyze previous researches on testing smart cards, such as ISO/IEC and KS standard documents, and Guideline of Card Quality Test. We also propose the functional test results done on the Highpassplus card of Korea Highway Corporation. By testing the Hipgpassplus card we can get card systems with reliable functionality and security. Furthermore, this can help developing more reliable security systems. The test results of the Highpassplus card proposed in this paper are the first research on testing smart cards in services in Korea and we expect that the test methods of smart card will be advanced based on our results.

  • The paper aims to explore the factors affecting potential users of international bank cards in Vietnam. With milestones treaties being signed CPTPP and EVFTA, Vietnam is now exposing itself to the international open environment. Bank card market is at the core of this wind of change, and that is the reason for us to research the intention to use international bank cards. Given that the decision to choose international bank cards could either be the switch from domestic cards or adopting a brand new card, we develop some specific constructs to reflect that consideration, specifically PE and PD, asides from traditional constructs used in TPB and TAM frameworks. The analysis work is conducted using PLS-SEM approach. Our findings reveals that most of our proposed hypotheses are supported, in which SN plays the most important direct role to INT, while total effect of PU on INT is similar to that of SN. The newly introduced PD negatively and significantly impacts INT, and PE also has a positive impact on INT. The findings suggest that overall, it is important for bank card issuers to have a balance approach to the market, with focus on increasing usefulness and reducing potential disadvantages of international bank cards.

  • The business card is regarded as the simplest means as well as a tool the most likely to use as a means of sales. Every day, we are exchanging business cards with many customers, but the paper based business card is easy to discard and difficult for searching information on the business card. As a solution, if we take a photographed business card with a smart phone and make it into a database, we can easily obtain customer information we wanted for sales at any time. In this study, we develop an application solution based on electronic business card database that supports sales management. The system operates in a cloud environment and has various decision support functions such as customer's human network management, customer classification, and finding prospective customers.

  • This study aims to develop a theoretical model in order to determine factors affecting consumer intention to use credit cards by combining Theory of perceived risk and Technology acceptance model. Despite of perspective of consequences in prior studies on related research fields, this study focuses on the sources of perceived risk, including transaction, payment and credit risks, which are proposed and measured in a preliminary research. A measurement model and a structural model with the presence of perceived risk in sources are tested in a formal research with data collected from 538 bank customers. An analysis results show that payment risk, usefulness, transaction risk, ease of use, and credit risk influence significantly Vietnamese consumers' intention to use credit cards in decreasing order of influence. These factors account for 64.6% of the variation in intended use. All three dimensions of perceived risk have a negative effect on the intention to use, with the total impact greater than the level of influence of the other two factors of usefulness and ease of use. These findings can be beneficial to banks in enacting policies to attract more consumers and to allocate resources for improving their credit card business.

  • In general, the electronic commerce systems comprise the background system, terminal, network and smart cards. Among them, the smart card systems are expected to take a great portion of applications for the convenience of rapidly improving technology. The technology includes adopting RISC processors or co-processors for cryptography and developing new memory systems based on the standardization. In this paper, we investigate the overall trends of the technology and the standardization process of smart cards. We also propose the guidelines to enhance the capabilities of designing H/W and S/W related to COS(Chip Operating System).

  • Advances in information and telecommunications technology are producing unprecedented shifts in the way businesses conduct their business, Today, electronic commerce is becoming pervasive due to, in large part, the widespread use of Internet and Worldwide Web. One element that plays an important role in shaping the success of electronic commerce is the electronic payment system. Deficiency in its reliability and security may lead to unwanted outcomes, including economic losses and customer dissatisfaction. By far, numerous forms of electronic payment systems have been introduced in the virtual marketplace. However, there exists little research that has focused on the characteristics of the electronic payment systems such that they may be compared with one another. This article is aimed at providing a framework for comparative analysis of electronic payment systems, examining the characteristics of the individual payment systems, and suggesting a choice strategy which enables a firm to select an appropriate payment system suited to their business needs. The framework classifies electronic payment systems into four categories including electronic cash, electronic checks, credit cards, and smart cards, and it can be employed in planning for an electronic commerce system.
