수평평판의 층류 막응축에서 압력의 영향 (The Effect of Pressure on Laminar Film Condensation along a Horizontal Plate)

  • Laminar film condensation of saturated vapor in forced flow over a flat plate is analysed. The problem is formulated as exact boundary-layer solution and integral approximate solution. From numerical solutions of the governing equations, it is found that the energy transfer by convection and the effect of inertia term in the momentum equation in negligibly small for low pressure but quite important for high pressure. The condensate rate, liquid-vapor interfacial shear stress and local heat transfer are strongly dependent on the reduced pressure $P_r$ and the modified Jacob number Ja/Pr.

  • A numerical study on the hydrodynamic properties of a floating flexible breakwater consisting of triple vertical porous membrane structures attached to a floating rigid pontoon restrained by moorings is carried out in the context of two-dimensional linear wave-flexible body interaction theory. The tensions in the triple membranes are achieved by hanging a clump weight from its lower ends. The clump weight is also restrained properly by moorings. The dynamic behavior of the breakwater was described through an appropriate Green function, and the fluid multi-domains are incorporated into the boundary integral equation. Numerical results are presented which illustrate the effects of the various wave and structural parameters on the efficiency of the breakwater as a barrier to wave action. It is found that the wave reflection and transmission properties of the structures depends strongly on the membrane length taking major fraction of water column, the magnitude of tensions on membrane achieving by the clump weight, proper mooring types and stiffness, the permeability on the membrane dissipating wave energy.

항내응답에 대한 해석해 (Analytical Solution for Harbour Oscillations)

  • 직사각형 항만의 항내응답에 대한 두 가지 해석해를 제시하였다. 본 논문에서 올바른 정합점근 근사법의 해가 제시되었고 이 해는 Mei (1989)에 의해 처음 유도되었다. 다른 해석해는 특성함수 전개법을 이용하여 유도되었으며 보다 정밀한 수치적분 방법이 사용되었다. 해의 검증을 위해 해석적인 방법 및 수치방법인 경계적분요소법으로 내만에서의 파고증폭비를 계산하여 도시하였다.

주기파의 최대 처오름높이에 관한 연구 (A Study of Matimum Run-up Heights of Periodic Waves)

  • 본 연구에서는 정현파와 크노이드파를 입사파로 이용하여 주기파의 최대 처오름높이를 수치해석하였다. 크노이드파의 최대 처오름높이는 파장이 매우 짧아지면 정현파의 처오름높이에 접근하며, 파장이 길어지면 고립파의 처오름높이와 유사한 성질을 갖는다. 동일한 파고로 입사할 경우, 크노이드파의 최대 처오름높이는 정현파의 처오름 높이보다는 항상 큰 반면에, 고립파의 처오름높이보다는 항상 작다는 것을 보였다.

  • A numerical method for solving the boundary-value problem related to potential flows with a free surface and an experimental work are introduced in this paper. The forced heaving motion of cylinders with arbitrary shapes in water of finite depth are Considered here. The Fredholm integral equation of the first kind is employed in determining strengths of singularities distributed on the body surface. And the results obtained by the present method for the case of a heaving circular cylinder on water of finite depth agree well with existing results of earlier investigators.

On the Hydrodynamic Forces of Oscillating Cylinders in the Presence of a Free Surface

  • The integral equation method to solve the boundary-value problem of a 2-dimensional body oscillating in the presence of a free surface generally breaks down at and near irregular frequencies due to the hypothetical flow inside the body. In this paper singularity distributions were extended to an inner free surface to remove the irregular frequency as Ohmatsu's work in 1978, and the solution for the above problem was found by using stream function. For various bodies including Lewis form cylinders, the hydrodynamic forces were calculated numerically at various wave numbers. From the results we concluded that the irregular frequencies can be removed even for the Lewis form cylinder as Ohmatsu done for circular cylinders, and calculated hydrodynamic forces by the present method are little higher than those of Ohmatsu's when the singularities are put on the inner free surface of the body. We specially point out that the solution for heaving motion converges in an oscillatory manner but not for swaying and rolling motions.

  • 산란파 감소 등의 목적으로 PEC 상에 코팅된 매질은 임피던스 경계조건을 사용하여 효과적으로 모델링되며, Yan이 제안한 SDIE 방법을 이용하여 임피던스 경계조건 MLFMM 방법을 쉽게 구현할 수 있다. SDIE MLFMM 방법은 매질의 임피던스가 불균일한 경우에도 적용될 수 있으나, PEC 또는 PMC 영역을 포함할 경우에는 결과가 부정확해질 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 Yan의 SDIE MLFMM 방법을 변형하여 PEC 또는 PMC 영역을 포함하는 불균일 임피던스 매질을 효율적으로 해석할 수 있는 방법을 제안하고, 그 정확도를 시뮬레이션으로 검증한다.

Effect of Pasternak foundation: Structural modal identification for vibration of FG shell

  • Employment of the wave propagation approach with the combination of Pasternak foundation equation gives birth to the shell frequency equation. Mathematically, the integral form of the Lagrange energy functional is converted into a set of three partial differential equations. A cylindrical shell is placed on the elastic foundation of Pasternak. For isotropic materials, the physical properties are same everywhere, whereas the laminated and functionally graded materials, they vary from point to point. Here the shell material has been taken as functionally graded material. The influence of the elastic foundation, wave number, length and height-to-radius ratios is investigated with different boundary conditions. The frequencies of length-to-radius and height-to-radius ratio are counter part of each other. The frequency first increases and gain maximum value in the midway of the shell length and then lowers down for the variations of wave number. It is found that due to inducting the elastic foundation of Pasternak, the frequencies increases. It is also exhibited that the effect of frequencies is investigated by varying the surfaces with stainless steel and nickel as a constituent material. MATLAB software is utilized for the vibration of functionally graded cylindrical shell with elastic foundation of Pasternak and the results are verified with the open literature.

  • BEA(Boundary Element Analysis) based on Kirchhoff-Helmholtz integral equation is widely used in the prediction of sound radiation problems of vibrating structures. Accurate estimation of sound pressure distribution by BEA can be [possible if and only if dynamic behavior of the relating structure was described correctly. Another plausible method of sound radiation phenomena could be the NAH(Nearfield Acoustic Holography) method. NAH also based on the identical governing equation with BEA could be one of the best acoustic imaging schemes but it has disadvantages of the complexity of measurement and of the need of large amount of measuring points. In this paper, modal expansion method is presented for taking accurate dynamic data of the structures efficiently. This method makes use of vibration principle an arbitrary dynamic behavior of the structure is described by the summation of that structures mode shapes which can be calculated by FEA easily and accurately. Sound pressure field from a vibration flat plate is calculated using the combination of vibration signal on that flat plate from experiment, and of the natural mode shapes form FEA. When sound pressure field from vibration signal is calculated the importance of the phase information was emphasized.

투수층에 적용 가능한 흐름함수방식의 확장형 완경사방정식의 개발 (Development of Complementary Mild-slope Equation for Stream Function Over Permeable Bed)

  • 본 연구에서는 유한한 깊이의 투수층에 의한 파랑 감쇠 현상을 흐름함수에 대한 확장형 완경사방정식을 사용하여 해석하였다. 에너지 감쇠율을 흐름함수에 대한 완경사방정식에 고려할 수 있도록 감쇠항을 제시하였다. 수치실험 시 계산영역에서 반사된 파가 경계에서 재반사되는 문제를 극복하기 위해서, 델타함수 형태의 원천함수를 유도하여 계산영역 내에서 조파하였다. 경사면 위의 파랑의 반사율 측정 실험을 다양한 주기에 대해서 수행하였다. 투수성이 있는 수중둔덕에 대해서, 수치실험 결과는 해석해인 적분방정식의 결과와 대체로 잘 일치하였다. 그러나, 투수계수가 크고 파장이 길수록 본 연구의 결과가 상대적으로 높은 투과율을 보였다.
