  • The laminar boundary layer along a streamwise corner formed by two flat plates intersecting at right angle is measured by using Particle Image Velocimetry(PIV) technique. The free stream velocity ranges from 2.96m/s to 3.0m/s. The angle of incidence of the corner is set to 1.2 degree providing slightly favourable pressure gradient to ensure a laminar flow in the corner region. A round shape leading edge is used and the length of the model is about 1000mm. In the bisector plane, the measurement data show separation type velocity profiles having an inflection point which is a typical characteristic of laminar corner boundary layers. As the distance away from the bisector plane increases, velocity profiles are found to change into the Blasius profile. The change completes around half length of the boundary layer thickness in the bisector plane away from the bisector plane along the plate. In the bisector plane, the growth characteristic of the boundary layer thickness and the approximate similarity of velocity profiles are confirmed from the measurement data.

  • In this paper we consider some properties of. bisector of interior angle(theorem 1) and exterior angle(theorem 2) in triangle by using analogy. As a result of analyzing various mathematics textbooks we have known that they focused not on relation between two theorems, but on describing two theorems. We have seen that theorem 2 is able to be inferred from theorem 1 by using analogy. After proving theorem 1 by some methods we analyze proof process, extract proof ideas, and analogize some ideas for proving theorem 2. From this we are able to find relationships between theorem 1 and 2.

  • This study is to provide improved teaching methods on classical geometric construction education by a straightedge and compass in school mathematics. In this paper, justifications of construction methods of Korean textbooks, for perpendicular bisector of an segment and angle bisector are discussed, which can be directly applicable to teaching geometric construction meaningfully. Based on these considerations, several implications for desirable teaching methods concerning geometric construction were suggested.

  • Voronoi diagrams are applied in varios field such as NC toolpath generation, VLSI design and robot path planning because of their geometric charcteristics. In this paper, Voronoi diagrams are introduced on polygon constructed by line segments only and with constant offset. Bisector curves for two arbitrary objects, which is the combination of line segment and arc, are defined as parametric fuction where the parameter is used as offset. Offset curves are applied on the generation of laser scanning path for the stereolithography and shows a good result from several examples.

  • A sensor network is composed of a large number of sensor nodes that are densely deployed in a field. Each sensor performs a sensing task for detection specific events. After detecting this event, location information of the sensor node is very important. Range-based scheme of the proposed approaches typically achieve high accuracy on either node-to-node distances or angles, but this scheme have a drawback because all sensor nodes have the special hardware. On the other hand, range-free scheme provides economic advantage because of no needed hardware even if that leads to coarse positioning accuracy. In this paper, we propose a range-free localization algorithm without range information in wireless sensor networks. This is a range-free approach and uses a small number of anchor nodes and known sensor nodes. This paper develops a localization mechanism using the geometry conjecture (perpendicular bisector of a chord). The conjecture states that a perpendicular bisector of a chord passes through the center of the circle.

  • In this study, we study on the length of bisector of angle by the method using the area, the method using the vector and the method using the similarity, also the length of trisector of angle by the method using the sine law, the method using the area and the method using the second law of cosine in triangle, respectively. And we study on the length of trisector of angle with the length of bisector in angle. This study is expected to use the learning materials for the interesting construction and the problem solving using trigonometric functions.

  • The accumulated knowledge of the influence of solar granulation on spectral lines, i.e. their asymmetry, provides a key to analyze stellar spectral line asymmetries. In this paper, a simple line synthesis using a simple 'model' of granulation was calculated. By adjusting the properties of the granule model, the observed imprints of convection on spectral lines can be reproduced. Since we depict convective flows using a continuous function rather than using a few components of flows (cf. Gray and Toner 1985, 1986; dravins 1990), we were able to identify which components of convection are important in line bisector shapes. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: Firstly, the intensity contrast (i.e. temperature fluctuation), and the area coverage of up- and down-flows are the two important factors which determine the line bisector shapes. Secondly, on the contrary to the assumption of other studies, the effect of horizontal flows is non-negligible. This exercise provides a qualitative understanding of the effect of convection on spectral lines. This knowledge serves as a guideline for understanding the characteristic difference in convection for stars on either side of the 'Granulation Boundary' (Gray 1982; Gray and Nagel 1989).
