  • Inorganic binding material was made by recycled resource and its applicability as pile-filling material was examined. The result was that the material had same liquidity with the liquidity of OPC and high reactivity with site soil. According to dynamic/static loading tests by site test-construction, the inorganic binding material met both design bearing capacity and settlement. Since the inorganic binding material showed same or better performance than OPC, the utilization possibility of the inorganic binding material made of recycled resource as pile-filling material was verified.

  • The binding isotherms of ionic dyes with Poly(vinylpyrrolidone) in aqueous solution were determined by the dynamic dialysis technique. The shape of the isotherms of cationic dye, C. I. Basic Red 18 with poly(vinlypyrrolidone) showed a partition type. It suggests that the binding involves a non-cooperative mode. Isotherms of an anion dye, a synthesized dye by coupling of diazotized m-trifluoromethylaniline with 2-naphthol-6-sulfonic acid, were sigmoid type and showed multimode interaction. The results were interpreted by the McGhee von Hippel theory. The thermodynamic parameters for the complex formation of the dyes-polymer were calculated from their temperature dependences of the intrinsic binding constant.

  • The detection and kinetics of mucosal pathogenic bacteria binding on polysaccharide ligands were studied using a surface plasmon resonance biosensor. The kinetic model applied curve-fitting to the experimental surface plasmon resonance sensorgrams to evaluate the binding interactions. The kinetic parameters for the mucosal pathogenic bacteria (Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Pseudomonas fluorescens, Serratia marcescens) with the alginate ligand were determined from a kinetic model. In addition, the binding interactions of the mucosal pathogenic bacteria with polysaccharide binding pairs (Pseudomonas aeruginosa/alginate, Streptococcus pneumoniae/pneumococcal polysaccharide, Staphylococcus aureus/pectin) were also compared with their kinetic parameters. The rate constants of association for Pseudomonas aeruginosa with the alginate ligand were higher than those for Pseudomonas fluorescens. Serratia marcescens had no detectable interaction with the alginate ligand. The adhesion affinity of Pseudomonas aeruginosa with alginate was higher than that for the other binding pairs. The binding affinities of the pathogenic bacteria with their own polysaccharide were higher than that of Staphylococcus aureus with pectin. Measuring the contact angle was found to be a feasible method for detecting binding interactions between analytes and ligands.

  • The binding energy in the n-type $GaAs/Al_xGa_{1-x}As$ quantum well is calculated. The shooting method, modified from the finite difference method, is used for the calculation of the subband energy level and its wave function. In order to account tot the change of the potential energy due to the charged particles, impurities and electrons, the self consistent method is employed. The wave function used for the calculation of the binding energy is assumed to be composed of the envelope function and hydrogenic 1s function. Then, the binding energies calculated by taking into account lot two different types of the hydrogenic 1s function are compared.

  • In this study, it was developed eco-friendly inorganic binding material concrete using ground granulated blast furnace slag and alkali activator (water glass, sodium hydroxides). Eight reinforced concrete beam using inoganic binding material concrete were constructed and tested under monotonic loading. The major variables were mixture ratio of alkali activator, type of admixture and admixture. Experimental programs were carried out to improve and evaluate the flexural performance of such test specimens, such as the load-displacement, the failure mode, the maximum load carrying capacity, and ductility capacity. All the specimens were modeled in scale-down size. The eco-friendly concrete using inorganic binding material encouraged alkali activation reaction was rapidly hardening speed and showed possibility as a high strength concrete. Also, the RC beams using new materials showed similar behavior and failed similarly with RC beam used portland cement. It is thought that eco-friendly inorganic binding material concrete can be used with construction material and product as a basic research to replace cement concrete. If there is application to structures in PC member as well as production of 2nd concrete product, it could be improved the productivity and reduction of construction duration etc.

  • The adsorption and configuration of CO molecules adsorbed on W (110) and W (100) surfaces have been calculated by the atomic superposition and electron delocalization molecular orbital (ASED-MO) method. Referred to as the ASED-MO method, it has been used in the present study to calculate the geometries, binding energies, vibrational frequencies, orbital energies, reduced overlap population (ROP), and charges. From these results adsorption properties of ${\alpha}$-state and ${\beta}$-state were deduced. The calculated binding energies are in good agreement with the experimental result. On the W (110), the calculated average binding energies are 2.56 eV for the end-on configuration and 3.20 eV for the lying-down configuration. Calculated vibrational frequency is 1927 $cm^{-1}$ at a 1-fold site and 1161 $cm^{-1}$ at a long-bridge (2) site. These results are in reasonable agreement with experimental values. On the W(100) surface, calculated average binding energies of the end-on and the lying-down are 2.54 eV and 4.02 eV respectively. The differences for binding energy and configuration on the surfaces are explained on the basis of surface-atom coordination and atom-atom spacing. In the favored lyingdown CO configuration on the W(110) and W(100) surfaces, 4 ${\sigma}$ and 1 ${\pi}$ donation interactions, coupled with the familiar 5 ${\sigma}$ donation to the surfaces and back-donations to the CO 2 ${\pi}^{\ast}$ orbital, are responsible for adsorption to the surface.

  • Photo system II (PSII) is one of the two photosynthetic reaction centers in the chloroplast of higher plants. The chlorophyll a/b-light harvesting complex serves primarily as an antenna for PSII. We isolated a cDNA that encodes a chlorophyll a/b-binding protein (Cab) from Panax ginseng. The small subunit consists of 935 nucleotides long and has an open reading frame of 795 bp with the deduced amino acid of 265 residues (pI 5.63), 28.6 kDa. The deduced amino acid sequence matched to the previously reported Cab genes. Their degree of amino acid identity ranged from 68 to $92\%$. Phylogenetic analysis based on the amino acid residues was showed that the ginseng Cab gene was grouped with P. persica (AAC34983), A. thaliana (AAD28771), G. hirsutum (CAA38025), G. max (AAL29886), and V. radiate (AAF89205).

  • As the high-rise building increase due to the gravitation of population to big cities recently, it requires high quality and high performance of Concrete. As a result, people are keenly interested in Meta-kaolin as new admixture favorable from an economic perspective, which has strength and endurance with admixture at the same level like Silica-fume. Accordingly, as to Meta-kaolin, this study was to set by three levels like domestic one, foreign one, and Silica-fume, the water-binding material ratio 25%, and four level substitute like 0, 10, 20, and 30(%) in order to compare and analyze the quality durability of high-concrete according to the substitute of Meta-kaolin applicable with replacement of Silica-fume. As a result of performing experiment it was found that when water-binding material ratio increases, resistance of neutralization, carbonation, salt damage and sulfate decrease, and when replacement ratio of mineral admixture increases, depth of accelerating carbonation gets greater. Also, the combination of SF and MK-B favored resistance to chloride ion penetration better than MK-A, and it was found that when replacement ratio of binding material increases, the resistance to sulphuric acid increases. Therefore, based on this study, it was understood that meta-kaolin is useable in replacement of silicafume.

  • Plantae of the natural material has been broadly used on cloth dyeing by it's specific properties such as eco-friendly and innoxious. However dyeing with natural material on synthetic fiber is nearly impossible due to poor affinity between natural material and synthetic fiber. The method which is binding with micro-capsulized natural material to cloth, used in this study, has low change on quality by external influence. Also this method has high ability in spray effect by broken capsule which comes to pressure and friction when the treated cloth was dressed. And this method is applicable widely from natural fiber to synthetic fiber. The purpose of this study is to develop the multi-functional synthetic material with micro-capsulized Ginseng on PET. Moreover, it was driven by comparison of colormetric properties and fastness between regular dip-dyeing method and binding with micro-capsulized material method. Dyeability showed a little bit low exhaustion but the PET treated by micro-capsule was more or less better than the dip dyed PET. Through the SEM(Scanning Electron Microscope) of PET treated by micro-capsule, it has good residence of capsules even after 5 or 10 times washing. Wash and light fastness were revealed some different grades by each condition but showed high level, in most and the micro-capsulized PET was more improver than regular dip dyed PET.
