The internal transcribed spacer (ITS) regions including the 3'-end of 18S rRNA gene, 5.8S rRNA gene and the 5'-end of the 28S rRNA gene of Rhizopus spp. were amplified by PCR and analyzed by DNASIS program. Length polymorphism of these region ranged from 564 bp in R. oryzae to 789bp in R. stolonifer. The length and sequence of 5.8S was very conserved with $154{\sim}155\;bp$. The sequence of ITS2 was more variable than that of ITS1. The base substitution rates were ranged from 0 to 0.6069 per site, and higher rate was found in R. stolonifer. In general, transition was usually more frequent than transversion. On the basis of sequencing results, four groups were clustered with value of 61.9% similarity; R. oryzae, R. micros pores, R. homothallicus, and R. stolonifer groups.

A key issue in spoken language processing has become the integration of speech understanding and natural language processing(NLP). This paper presents a parallel computational model for the integration of speech and NLP. The model adopts a hierarchically-structured knowledge base and memory-based parsing techniques. Processing is carried out by passing multiple markers in parallel through the knowledge base. Speech-specific problems such as insertion, deletion, and substitution have been analyzed and their parallel solutions are provided. The complete system has been implemented on the Semantic Network Array Processor(SNAP) and is operational. Results show an 80% sentence recognition rate for the Air Traffic Control domain. Moreover, a 15-fold speed-up can be obtained over an identical sequential implementation with an increasing speed advantage as the size of the knowledge base grows.
Second-order rate constants (k$_{Nu–}$) have been measured for nucleophilic substitution reactions of Y-substituted phenyl benzoates (1a-i) with butane-2,3-dione monoximate ($Ox^-\;an\;\alpha$-nucleophile) and Z-substituted phenoxides in 80 mol% H$_2$O/20 mol% DMSO at 25.0${\pm}$0.1$^{\circ}C$. Hammett plots correlated with ${\sigma}^o$ and ${\sigma}^-$ constants for reactions of 1a-h with Ox$^–$ exhibit many scattered points. In contrast, the Yukawa-Tsuno plot results in a good linear correlation with ${\rho}_Y$ = 2.20 and r = 0.45, indicating that expulsion of the leaving group occurs in the rate-determining step (RDS). A stepwise mechanism with expulsion of the leaving-group being the RDS has been excluded, since Y-substituted phenoxides are less basic and better nucleofuges than Ox$^–$. Thus, the reactions have been concluded to proceed through a concerted mechanism. Ox$^–$ is over 10$^2$ times more reactive than its reference nucleophile, 4-chlorophenoxide (4-ClPhO$^–$). One might suggest that stabilization of the transition-state (TS) through intramolecular general acid/base catalysis is responsible for the ${\alpha}$-effect since such general acid/base catalysis is not possible for the corresponding reactions with 4-ClPhO$^–$. However, destabilization of the ground-state (GS) of Ox$^–$ has been concluded to be mainly responsible for the ${\alpha}$-effect found in this study on the basis of the fact that the magnitude of the ${\alpha}$-effect is independent of the nature of the substituent Y.
The chloroplast DNA sequences of Megaleranthis saniculifolia, an endemic and monotypic endangered plant species, were completed in this study (GenBank FJ597983). The genome is 159,924 bp in length. It harbors a pair of IR regions consisting of 26,608 bp each. The lengths of the LSC and SSC regions are 88,326 bp and 18,382 bp, respectively. The structural organizations, gene and intron contents, gene orders, AT contents, codon usages, and transcription units of the Megaleranthis chloroplast genome are similar to those of typical land plant cp DNAs. However, the detailed features of Megaleranthis chloroplast genomes are substantially different from that of Ranunculus, which belongs to the same family, the Ranunculaceae. First, the Megaleranthis cp DNA was 4,797 bp longer than that of Ranunculus due to an expanded IR region into the SSC region and duplicated sequence elements in several spacer regions of the Megaleranthis cp genome. Second, the chloroplast genomes of Megaleranthis and Ranunculus evidence 5.6% sequence divergence in the coding regions, 8.9% sequence divergence in the intron regions, and 18.7% sequence divergence in the intergenic spacer regions, respectively. In both the coding and noncoding regions, average nucleotide substitution rates differed markedly, depending on the genome position. Our data strongly implicate the positional effects of the evolutionary modes of chloroplast genes. The genes evidencing higher levels of base substitutions also have higher incidences of indel mutations and low Ka/Ks ratios. A total of 54 simple sequence repeat loci were identified from the Megaleranthis cp genome. The existence of rich cp SSR loci in the Megaleranthis cp genome provides a rare opportunity to study the population genetic structures of this endangered species. Our phylogenetic trees based on the two independent markers, the nuclear ITS and chloroplast MatK sequences, strongly support the inclusion of the Megaleranthis to the Trollius. Therefore, our molecular trees support Ohwi's original treatment of Megaleranthis saniculifolia to Trollius chosenensis Ohwi.
Recently, by-products from concrete industry are generated in large quantities because of urban redevelopment. Accordingly, waste concrete powder(WCP) inevitably generated in the course of crushing, screening, and separating the waste concrete also show high emission and be increasing gradually, but which is mostly buried with waste concrete aggregate. This is a basic research to increase the value added utilization rate of WCP. We have examined strength characteristic of extruding panel with WCP, depending on the curing methods. The result of study shows similar strength to the base specimen in autoclave curing condition. And in autoclave curing condition, the specimen with WCP of 20% and 30% satisfy the target strength of 14MPa.

2,7-dibromo-9, 9-dialkyl-substituted-fluorene derivatives were prepared by the alkylation of 2,7-dibromofluorene with various alkyl groups under two-phase phase transfer catalysis (PTC) conditions, as monomers for synthesizing poly(dialkylfluorene)s. Tetra-nbutylammonium hydrogen sulfate (TBAHS) was used as a phase transfer catalyst to enhance nucleophilic substitution. In addition, NaOH in water (25M) was used as a base to generate anions. Compared to conventional alkylation using butyllithium(BuLi), the reaction using the PTC technique attained high selectivity and substantial conversion of reactants, due to the enhanced reaction rate, while the reaction was carried out under moderate conditions. An approximately 90% yield was obtained from the reaction and the reaction time was remarkably reduced. 2,7-dibromo-9,9-dihexyl-fluorene, 2,7-dibromo-9,9-dioctyl-fluorene, and 2,7-dibromo-9,9-di(2-ethylhexyl)-fluorene were effectively synthesized by phase transfer catalytic reaction.
Solvolyses of α-methoxy-α-(trifluoromethyl)phenylacetyl chloride in H₂O, D₂O, CH₃OD, 50% D₂O-CH₃OD, and in aqueous binary mixtures of acetone, dioxane, ethanol and methanol are investigated at 25.0℃. The Grunwald-Winstein plots of first-order rate constants for α-methoxy- α-(trifluoromethyl)phenylacetyl chloride with $Y_{Cl}$ show a dispersion phenomenon. Solvent nucleophilicity N has been shown to give considerable im-provement when it is added as an 1N term to the original Grunwald-Winstein for the solvolyses of α-methoxy- α-(trifluoromethyl)phenylacetyl chloride. The dispersions in the Grunwald-Winstein correlations in the present studies are caused by solvent nucleophilicity. The magnitude of l and m values associated with a change of solvent composition predicts the associative $S_N2$ transition state. The kinetic solvent isotope effects determined in deuterated water and methanol are consistent with the proposed mechanism of the general base catalyzed associative $S_N2$ or $S_AN$ mechanism for the of α-methoxy- α-(trifluoromethyl)phenylacetyl chloride.
PURPOSES : In this study, we analyzed the compressive strength characteristics of lean base concrete in relation to changes in the outdoor temperature after analyzing the cold and hot weather temperature standards and calculated the minimum and maximum temperatures when pouring concrete. We examined the rate of strength development of lean base concrete in relation to the temperature change and derived an appropriate analysis formula for FRC base structures by assigning the accumulated strength data and existing maturity formula. METHODS : We measured the strength changes at three curing temperatures (5, 20, and $35^{\circ}C$) by curing the concrete in a temperature range that covered the lowest temperature of the cold period, $5^{\circ}C$, to the highest temperature of the hot period, $35^{\circ}C$. We assigned the general lean concrete and FRC as test variables. A strength test was planned to measure the strength after 3, 5, 7, 14, and 28 days. RESULTS : According to the results of compressive strength tests of plain concrete and FRC in relation to curing temperature, the plain concrete had a compressive strength greater than 5 MPa at all curing temperatures on day 5 and satisfied the lean concrete standard. In the case of FRC, because the initial strength was substantially reduced as a result of a 30% substitution of fly ash, it did not satisfy the strength standard of 5 MPa when it was cured at $5^{\circ}C$ on day 7. In addition, because the fly ash in the FRC caused a Pozzolanic reaction with the progress into late age, the amount of strength development increased. In the case of a curing temperature of $20^{\circ}C$, the FRC strength was about 66% on day 3 compared with the plain concrete, but it is increased to about 77% on day 28. In the case of a curing temperature of $35^{\circ}C$, the FRC strength development rate was about 63% on day 3 compared with the plain concrete, but it increased to about 88% on day 28. CONCLUSIONS : We derived a strength analysis formula using the maturity temperatures with all the strength data and presented the point in time when it reached the base concrete standard, which was 5 MPa for each air temperature. We believe that our findings could be utilized as a reference in the construction of base concrete for a site during a cold or hot weather period.
