The 'Science and Technology Mania' award program is an annual nationwide award activity organized to provide teenagers with opportunities for engaging in a high-technology-based long-term project work. The task involves designing a model ship propelled by the Lorentz force (a Lorentz ship) that allows diverse approaches irreducible to one right answer, and thus adopts features of science and technology in-the-making, In this study, we attend to opportunities for learning science that the uncertain aspects of artifact-designing project provide with participants, particularly when students communicate with scientists about their design practices. We analyze oral presentation sessions of the program and articulate two findings. First, students articulate embodied knowing in the presence of scientists. Second, students enact discursive resources deployed in concrete action. We conclude that students' design practices constitute referent that communication is directed toward and therefore become resources for developing scientific discourse.

2008 KAA(Korean Architecture Award) Architecture Tour is a part of KAA Annual program and given to award winners as a reward. In the year, 22 award winners including architects, contractors and members of award committee had travelled to $M{\ddot{u}}nchen$, Saltburg, Wien, Budapest and Praha from Oct. 24. Chun Gyu Shin is a presidential award winner in the private sector with his Aimsak Factory Project in the year.

This paper reviews major aspects of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and introduces some evidences that the Baldrige criteria can assess the quality of management to some extent. It is also discussed that how can we improve our national quality award program.

본 연구는 도시의 기반환경을 다루는 조경분야와 공공영역 간 협력체계의 구축이 크게 요청되는 오늘날, 조경계의 최고권위 시상제도인 조경대상의 정체성을 고찰한 내용이다. 연구방법론으로 내적 자기인식으로서의 동일성과 외적 상관적 인식으로서의 개별성으로 구성되는 정체성의 세부특성을 활용하였으며, 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 조경대상은 지자체와 공공기관을 시상하는 조경분야의 유일한 상으로서의 내적 가치를 보유한다. 그러나 관련되는 여러 시상제도와 비교할 때 지속성 측면에서의 짧은 연원과 부분적으로 파행을 겪은 점, 제도운용방식의 개편으로 공공영역에 대한 관심이 반감될 가능성이 야기되고 있는 점, 사회적 권위와 부합되는 정도의 참여와 호응도를 형성하지 못하는 점의 취약한 측면들이 발견되었다. 또한 오늘날 녹색도시를 지향하는 패러다임에 의해 도시계획분야가 시행하고 있는 도시대상의 세부분야가 상정하고 있는 가치들과 상당부분 중복되는 측면 역시 노정된다. 이에 조경대상은 도시계획분야의 도시대상과 비교한 수월성을 더욱 강화하면서 특화와 발전전략을 구축해 나가야 할 것으로 판단된다. 즉, 국토해양부에 국한되지 않는 다양한 행정영역과의 공조체계의 강화가 바로 그것으로, 이는 다양한 영역과 분야를 포괄하는 학문과 실무분야로서의 성격을 더욱 공고히 하는 측면과도 상통될 것이다. 이렇듯 다양하게 복합되어 있는 세부특성으로서의 정체성은 조경대상의 경쟁력 강화방안과 직결되는 것으로, 조경분야 내 외부의 폭넓은 관심과 논의, 그리고 민주적인 공론화과정을 필요로 하고 있다.

1987년 미국 기업의 종합적 품질 경영을 촉진하기 위한 목적으로 제정된 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award(MBNQA)는 이제 경영 품질의 세계 기준으로 제시되고 있다. 제정 이래 기업 경영 분야에 국한하여 평가되었던 MB상은 1999년도부터 교육 부문과 의료부문까지 확대 시행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 MB상의 평가 프로세스 및 2000년도 교육 부문 평가 기준의 변화에 대하여 소개하고, 이 평가 기준을 우리나라 대학교육기관에 적용 가능성을 확인하기 위해 연세대학교 공과대학 기전공학부 정보산업 전공과 전기공학 전공에 대하여 적용하여 보았다. 평가 결과 정보산업 전공과 전기공학 전공의 종합점수는 각각 522.5와 548.5이었으며, MB상 평가 기준에서 분류한 기준에 의하면 이 점수대는 많은 세부 영역들에 대해 효과적인 접근 방법이 사용되고 있으나, 일부 세부 영역에 대한 전개는 아직 초기 단계에 머무르고 있다고 기술되어 있다.

Dr. Haruyuki Ogino, a member of the Japan Health Physics Society (JHPS), was awarded the 2021 Bo Lindell Medal by the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP). To commemorate this, the "Joint JHPS-KARP-ARPS program for young radiation protection (RP) scientists to discuss the future of RP" was organized via a web meeting system. First, Dr. Ogino gave a lecture, and then young researchers selected from each academic society made presentations on the future of RP. After the presentations by the three researchers, a free talk was held-young researcher groups of each country being active is a great opportunity to collaborate and exchange information. It was emphasized that the low awareness of knowledge related to radiation has been common to all of the participating countries. Thus, it is necessary to utilize communication via web technology, as done for this program, effectively. One of the biggest advantages for Asia and Oceania is that we do not have a significant time difference. The round-table discussion was concluded by expressing the hope of active exchange and development of young researchers in the future.

To implement total quality management(TQM), firms and institutions have strategically used quality awards models. In this paper we analyzed the national quality awards of G-20 members such as United States, Europe, Japan, Canada, Australia and Korea. There are three main points to analysis; First, "which type of model is good for Korea?", even though Korea already has adopted MBNQA model. Second, "Are the core values really different from each models?". And third, "Is there any difference in the criteria structure and value points system?" This study aims to design a National Quality Award which is good for the Korean companies and organizations. After analyzing the current quality awards models, we propose some suggestion about core value setting Korean-specific criteria development and value points system change.

The function and the role of school are changing according to various future-oriented education models such as open-ended learning cycle, community learning center, re-schooling, network system and de-schooling, which reflect recent social demands related to discussions on sustainability, low birth rate and ageing. what changes to our school buildings have been there? This study is aimed that shows the architectural change of school buildings and environments in 2000's. It reveals the architectural tendancy through some school buildings, 'the excellent facility school award' winner which Ministry of Education, Science and Technology have chosen annually since 1998. In the past decade, it is outstanding change that mass composition, window patterns and exterior wall materials are diversified greatly. The most of them have a opened main hall and multi-purpose spaces which give effective educational environment to students. Although visual changes are outstanding, we still need qualitative educational space program and improved school building design according to future-educational demands.

Purpose - Loyalty programs enable retailers to maintain longer and better customer relationships. In successful services, customers actively use and value these programs. As the proximity to the goal (goal gradient) might signal active participation, this study empirically examines customer's goal gradient behavior in a multi-vendor loyalty program. We also consider the effect of customer's accrual diversity on goal gradients, which is a differentiating feature in a multi-vendor loyalty program, and is further examined. Research Design, Data, and Methodology - The data consists of6,646 OK Cashbag members' individual transaction records from 2006 to 2009. The goal gradient hypothesis was tested as an increase in both the speed and the amount of accumulated award points. Result - The findings suggest that the goal gradient is also observed in a multi-vendor loyalty program, occurring more strongly among members with high accrual diversity. Conclusions - The results indicate that customers with high accrual diversity attend strongly to goal gradients in multi-vendor loyalty programs; hence, it is important for such program managers to better inform members about affiliated partners.

본 연구는 서울과 청주에 거주하는 일반 국민들의 지질자원기술과 연구성과 인식 정도를 조사 분석하였다. 지질자원기술 및 연구성과에 대한 국민들의 인식 조사결과를 토대로 지질자원기술 위상 제고를 위한 홍보 전략과 방안을 SMTCR 모델에 입각하여 도출하였다. 실행주체(S) 측면에서는 홍보위원회 운영 및 홍보가산점 평가제, 메시지 창출(M) 측면에서는 미디어 캐러반 투어 및 지질자원기술 관련 기고문 활성화, 도구 및 채널(T/C) 측면에서는 지질과학대상 신설 및 지구과학의 해 활용, 공중 반응(R) 측면에서는 공중 반응 측정 상시화 및 홍보 목표/실적 주기적 평가 등을 제시하였다.
