  • The selection and operation of tower cranes at construction sites are dependent on the personal experience of engineers in charge of lifting work. It often causes to overestimate the safety factor resulting in increase of construction cost, or underestimate it resulting in disastrous accident. Therefore, selection of tower cranes needs to consider cost, safety and maximum lifting condition. This study, for resolving such problems, was intended to propose the algorithm designed for even the inexperienced person to select the optimal lifting equipment in timely manner. The algorithm presented herein is an optimization algorithm that enables automatic arrangement of tower crane and minimization of costs by analyzing such conditions as vertical height and lifting load, etc.

  • An adjusted assessment model based on benefit-cost analysis (BCA) is proposed for evaluating the economic efficiency of automated construction technologies. In contrast to conventional BCA, the model does not compare monetary values, but the differences in benefits and costs between traditional and automated construction methods. To verify the usefulness of the model, it was applied to a real-scale building construction project that used a fully automated building construction system, and the face validity of the model was confirmed. The results indicate that the model can support decision makers in identifying valuable benefit factors and in assessing the cost effectiveness of the system.

1일 작업량 미만 공사의 공사비 산정 방식의 개선방안에 관한 연구 (Study on Improvement of Cost Calculation Method in Construction less than One Day Workload)

  • 표준품셈과 실적공사비 적산방식은 건설공사의 예정가격을 산정하는 가장 대표적인 기준자료이다. 하지만 이러한 공사비 산정방식은 1일 작업량 미만의 작업에서 정의, 할증 또는 보정기준 등이 명확하지 않아 적정 공사비의 산정이 어려운 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구는 1일 작업량 미만의 작업에서 표준품셈과 실적공사비의 문제점을 파악하고 이에 대한 개선방안을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 경기도내 44개의 전문건설업체에 대하여 설문조사를 실시하여 빈도분석을 하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 표준품셈에서는 인건비, 실적공사비에서는 장비비, 공종별로는 도로포장 및 유지공사의 장비비가 각각 가장 높은 비율로 초과되었다는 결과를 도출하였다. 결과를 바탕으로 표준품셈과 실적공사비는 공사의 규모에 따른 구분 등 각각 3가지의 개선이 필요하다. 본 연구의 결과는 1일 작업량 미만의 작업에서 공사비 산정 제도의 개선을 위한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • Traditional construction planning based on historical data and heuristic adjustment can no longer incorporate all the operational details and guarantee the expected performance. The variation between the expected and the actual production leads to cost overruns or delay. Although predicting reliable productivity on construction site is getting more important, the difficulty of this increases. In this regard, this paper suggested to develop BIM-integrated simulation framework. This framework could predict productivity dynamics by considering factors affecting on construction productivity at operational phase. We developed the following processes; 1) enabling a BIM model to produce input data for simulation; 2) developing the construction operation simulation; 3) running simulation using BIM data and obtaining productivity results. The BIM-integrated simulation framework was tested with structural steel erection model because steel erection work is one of the most critical process influencing on the whole construction budget and duration. We could improve to predict more dynamic productivity from this framework, and this reliable productivity helps construction managers to optimize resource allocation, increase schedule reliability, save storage cost, and reduce material loss.

Crafting an Automated Algorithm for Estimating the Quantity of Beam Rebar

  • Precise construction cost estimation is paramount to determining the total construction expense of a project prior to the initiation of the construction phase. Despite this, manual quantification and cost estimation methods, which continue to be widely used, may result in imprecise estimation and subsequent financial loss. Given the fast-paced and efficiency-demanding nature of the construction industry, trustworthy quantity and cost estimation is essential. To mitigate these obstacles, this research is focused on establishing an automated quantity estimation algorithm, particularly designed for the main rebar of beams which are recognized for their complicated reinforcement configurations. The exact quantity derived from the proposed algorithm is compared to the manually approximated quantity, reflecting a variance of 10.27%. As a result, significant errors and impending financial loss can be averted. The implementation of the findings from this research holds the potential to significantly assist construction firms in quickly and accurately estimating rebar quantities while adhering strictly to applicable specifications and regulatory requirements.

  • 최근 건설공사의 기계화로 인한 많은 장비 투입으로 인하여 주변 주민들이 현장 소음에 인한 피해보상을 요구하는 민원이 증가하고 있다. 하지만 현장소음은 예방차원이 아닌 공사 진행과정에서만 제한적으로 관리되며 민원이 발생하고 나서야 대부분의 대처가 이루어지고 있는 실정이다. 또한, 이러한 민원을 해결하기 위해서는 비용과 시간이 과다하게 소요되는데 이는 건설사에 부정적인 영향을 미치게 된다. 이에 본 연구는 착공 전부터 계획된 공사기간과 장비투입 조건을 활용하여 최적 공사비를 찾는 알고리즘을 제안하고 최적 공정표를 도출할 수 있는 스케줄링 프로세스 모델을 개발하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 또한, 이를 활용하여 현장관리자가 공사계획 수립 시 소음발생 여부에 따라 민원이 발생할 때 예측되는 비용정보 및 소음제한에 따른 공사비와 공사기간의 변화 정도를 비교 분석함으로써 보다 합리적이고 효율적인 공사 관리를 수행할 수 있도록 한다.

  • Along with the changing pattern that the construction project is getting complicated, large-scaled and up-to-dated, necessity of efficient management of manpower and resources of the construction site is being increased. In particular, considering that the construction site requires a lot of labor force and in terms of the construction cost, labor cost shares 30-40%, labor management has become a very important factor. In this study, in order to support a stable and successful construction project implementation and supplement the existing system being utilized at the current site, construction site access management automation system based on hand vascular pattern, a biometrics system, is intended to be developed. Relevant theory for the system development and the problem of existing RFID system were evaluated and based on this findings, a system design and DB composition chart were envisaged. Applying Unit Modular In-Fill Construction Method for High-Rise Buildings

  • A modular construction method includes factory-prefabricated room-sized volumetric units. Although low-rise buildings have been constructed worldwide using this method for more than 30 years, it is a relatively new technology in high-rise construction. There are three basic methods of constructing high-rise buildings using modular construction: the core method, the core-and-podium combination method, and the modular in-fill method. While the first two have been used in the USA and in several European countries, the third method, introduced in 2011 by an international cruise ship development firm, is a rather new approach for which there are few case histories. Therefore, its applicability and construction feasibility should be verified. As a pilot study to test the applicability of the modular in-fill method, a 12-story residential building was built in Korea. This paper describes a case study of the pilot project. The advantages and disadvantages of the method and its applicability in terms of cost effectiveness and construction schedule management were evaluated.

  • 건축물의 총 소유비용을 분석하기 위해서는 초기단계의 설계와 시공비용 이외에도 기획비용, 유지관리 및 운영비용을 고려해야 한다. 이를 LCC(Life Cycle Cost)라고 부른다. 현재, 충분한 데이터와 기준의 부족으로 인해 LCC의 분석에 많은 어려움을 겪고 있다. 본 연구에서는 건축물의 LCC 분석 방법을 제시하고, 현대식 아파트와 전통 한옥 주택에 대한 LCC 사례 분석을 수행하고자 한다. 사례 연구의 결과 한옥이 현대식 아파트에 비해 유지보수와 운영 비용에 있어서 보다 효율적인 것으로 조사되었다.

  • 산업안전보건관리비는 산업 현장에서 발생하는 인적 안전사고를 사전에 방지하기 위한 목적으로 1988년에 시행되었다. 그러나 다섯 개의 공사종류와 세 개의 공사금액을 기준으로 한 산업안전보건관리비의 계상기준은 다양한 건축현장의 특성을 반영하지 못하고 있다. 이를 연구하기 위해, 본 연구는 국내건설업체 현장의 건설업 산업안전보건관리비의 사용률과 사용세부항목을 분석하였다. 그 결과, 상당수의 현장에서 산업안전보건관리비를 초과 사용한 사실과 그 원인을 밝혀낼 수 있었다. 이를 토대로 본 연구에서는 건설업 산업안전보건관리비의 계상기준 개선의 필요성과 방향성을 제시하고자 하였다.
