A Study on the Selection Criteria of Science Gifted Children (국민학교(國民學校) 과학영재(科學英才) 선발(選拔) 준거(準據)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究))

  • This stady was carried out to define Gifted student for science, model for selection, the tools and methods and related theory for the selection of the Gifted students for the science in primary school level. Also the developed tools and materials are applied to student and analysed the results to generalize the methods for the selection of Gifted students for science. The definition of Gifted students for science was carried out by the three-ring conception model by Renzulli(1982) and Lee long-Sung which defined the characteristics as three parts such as above average ability, creativity and tesk comitment. The Gifted students for science upper 2 percent which have three characteristics at the same times, namely overlapping three characteristics. The model for the selection of Gifted students consist of four step; such as screeing, selection,differentiation, judgement. The materials for the selection are input at each stage, analysed the results and standard for the selection are made. In the first stage screening, 202 students are selected from the 5060 of 4th and 5th graders according to their achievment, intellecture ability and observation of students activity. In second selection and third differentiation stage, 65 students are seletted according to their achievement In this study it is approved that the Gifted students in science have to be selection by various test such as achievement, intellectual ability, aptitude in science, inquiry activity, manual skill etc, rather rather then simple test such as achievement and intellecture ability. Also it is important to select upper 2 percent who have general abilites overlapping three characteristics mentioned in definition of Gifted students in science and selections model

  • Considering the domestic traffic environment and the increase of traffic accidents, we have been asked to exactly analyze the main causes of accidents for the accident-experienced drivers to be rehabilitated. In this thesis we present the development process and results of a driving simulator using the IPDE method in the interest of safe driving and driving rehabilitation. Through this Driving simulation development the rehabilitated driver has the possibility of experiencing the real driving situation with the driving aptitude and examines the reasons of accidents. Through the examinations the driver has the chance to correct the deformities of driving by choosing the explanatory scenes, and through this process the driver is able to develop the capability to react in the real situation. However this driving simulation system is one of the best developed, depending on weather and road condition the braking distance may change. Therefore the fuzzy rule and neural network have been used in this thesis to solve previously mentioned problem. The simulation exactly calculated the road and weather conditions to adjust the breaking intensity.

Student Nurses' Recognition and Knowledge regarding Clinical Trials after a Clinical Trial Education Program (간호대학생의 임상시험교육프로그램 참여에 따른 임상시험에 대한 인식과 지식 비교)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate recognition and knowledge regarding clinical trials, in particular, after a clinical trial education program (CTEP) among student nurses. Methods: A cross-sectional survey design of 215 student nurses at a university in Seoul was used with structured questionnaires. Results: Respondents had a high level of need for clinical trial and moderate levels in favorable image, safety, and need for education regarding clinical trial. The respondents who had participated in the CTEP felt the clinical trial more favorable and safer than those who did not. However, there were no significant differences in necessity of clinical trials and need for education regarding clinical trial between the CTEP participation and no participation groups. Respondents had a high level of knowledge about clinical trial, even though half of the respondents misunderstood that the physician can convince the subject to participate in clinical trial. There was no significant difference in knowledge level between groups. One third of the respondents had an intention to work in the area related to clinical trial because of aptitude or future prospect. Conclusion: The results of this study demonstrated that the CTEP might have an effect on student nurses' recognition rather than knowledge. The CTEP should be therefore developed targeting specific areas of misconceptions and recognition changes.

A study on relationship of Personality type, Stress, and Job Satisfaction in some firefighters (소방대원의 성격유형, 스트레스 및 직무만족의 관계에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship among the variables, personality type, stress, and job satisfaction in firefighters. Methods: The questionnaire research was conducted for field service firefighters who work in two cities for the period of June 20, 2005 through July 20, 2005. A total number of 308 data were used for this analysis. For analysis of the data, the SPSSWIN 10.0 program was used to analyze descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, t-test and one-way ANOVA. Results: The mean score of subjects' stress was 3.30 and the mean score of job satisfaction was 2.86. There were significant differences on stress and job satisfaction by general characteristics. Stress was significantly differed by field of working. Job satisfaction was significantly differed by marital status and field of working. Also, there were significant differences on stress and job satisfaction by characteristics related to working. Stress was significantly differed by sleeping time at night shift, witness their superior's or companion's death or injury, and a threat to death or injury. Job satisfaction was significantly differed by an aptitude for field of working and wish to change the field of working. But there was no significant differences on stress and job satisfaction by personality type. There was statistically significant negative correlation between stress and job satisfaction. Conclusion: Strategies that can decrease their stress need to be developed to increase job satisfaction.

  • This study was designed to investigate variables influencing the job satisfaction of visiting supervisors for multicultural families in charge of childcare services. It focused on personal characteristics including personal and job characteristics. The subjects in this study were 784 visiting supervisors for multicultural families in charge of childcare services in 140 multicultural family centers located across Korea. The job satisfaction of these visiting supervisors was measured using a self-administered questionnaire, and the collected data were analyzed using a frequency analysis, analysis of variance, and post hoc tests. The findings of this study were as follows: first, these visiting supervisors showed a relatively high level of job satisfaction. However, the job satisfaction subscales of treatment and salary were relatively low. Second, the results revealed significant differences in effects of the variables related to the personal characteristics of the visiting supervisors, such as their age, education level, and their major in college, on their total job satisfaction and subscales (job performance, treatment and salary, work ethic and aptitude). Finally, the results revealed significant differences in the effects of the variables related to the job characteristics of the visiting supervisors, such as their responsibilities, career, number of children to handle, and age of children to handle, on the total job satisfaction and subscales (treatment and salary, relationship with caregivers).

Development of Adventure-Game style Program for Figure Learning (도형 학습을 위한 어드벤처 게임형 학습 프로그램 개발)

  • This study is aimed to develop adventure-game style learning program for offering different levels curriculum in mathematics and figure areas in elementary schools. The 7th mathematics curriculum introduced different levels curriculum considering learners' ability, aptitude, requirement, interest so that it could improve learners' growth potential and educational efficiency. But in reality, it is quite difficult to increase educational efficiency by conducting individual learning classes according to students' ability due to the big differences among students' levels in addition to high population in each classroom. The purpose of this study is to offer different levels curriculum based on van Hiele theory and develop adventure-game style learning program to increase interests of the learners. This program can improve students' academic achievement by offering differentiated curriculums to learners who need advanced or supplementary learning materials. And it also enhances leaners' spatial-perceptual ability by offering various operating activities in figures learning.

  • Last target of architectural acoustics is that people wish to convey voice effectively from the space adaptively in use purpose in building. But, how exactly through space sound (sound source) that wish to deliver from indoor can be passed method to do quantification and evaluate quantity of sound by method to serve indoor architectural acoustics estimation summer period and methods to estimate definition propose. This Study searches special quality of sound source about MLS signal that is occurred short-answer sound source (pistol sound source) and nondirectional speaker among indoor sound estimation method, and measure and analyzed reverberation time (RT60), definition (C80, D50) by regulation of each ISO 3382 in age place (classroom, hall, gymnasium). Analysis result and sound factor among could know that d of two sound sources converges in measurement error extent about reverberation time (RT60) of analysis incidental and sound factors and value shows change irregularly about sound factor of D50, C80, pistol sound source judged there is problem. Also, could know that problem is happened in deflection except reverberation time is in deflection analysis with wave that measure each in fixed distance in branch. Finally, when differ size of sound source and measure about change of sound pressure level in case measure sound pressure level giving difference about 10 dB, sound factor could know that there is no different effect.

The Development of Traffic Accident Severity Evaluation Models for Elderly Drivers (고령운전자 교통안전성 평가모형 개발)

  • This study tries to develop model in order to assess personal factors of senior traffic accidents that are widely recognized as one of the social problems. For the current practice. it gathers data (Simulation & Questionnaire Survey) of KOTSA and conducts Poisson and Negative Binomial Regression Analysis to develop traffic accident severity model. The results show that elderly drivers' accidents are mainly affected by attentiveness selection, velocity prediction ability and attentiveness distribution ability in a positive(+) way. Second, non-senior drivers' accidents are also positively(+) influenced by attentiveness selection, velocity prediction, distance perception, attentiveness distribution ability and attentiveness diversion ability. Therefore, influencing factors of senior and non-senior drivers to vehicle accidents are different. This eventually poses a indication that preliminary education for car accident prevention should be implemented based up[n the distinction between senior drivers and non-senior drivers.

  • The current curriculums for the gifted and talented students in informatics are not practical and systematic in teaching methods because it is hard to provide the gifted and talented students with appropriate education individualized at their own levels. Furthermore, there are still some problems in previous curriculums for the gifted and talented students in informatics as follows. First, there are not sufficient on previous curriculums for the gifted and talented education in informatics in middle and high schools. Second, previous curriculums in use do not contribute to cultivating the creativity, problem-solving, logical thinking abilities and insight for the gifted students. Third, there is no curriculum, which reflects on individual's ability and aptitude, for the gifted and talented education in informatics. Therefore, in this paper, we suggest stepwise enrichment curriculums that enables the gifted and talented students to be equipped with creative problem-solving skills and computational thinking abilities. In this regard, at first, The problem with existing research and educational institutes for the gifted and talented in informatics were analyzed. Next we developed a concrete stepwise enrichment curriculum in accordance with the practical educational objectives of the gifted and talented in informatics.

An Implementation of the Career Management System Based on the Android Platform (안드로이드 플랫폼 기반의 경력관리시스템 구축)

  • In this paper, we propose a CMS(Career Management System) based on the Android Platform, which is able to manage the result of MBTI, an aptitude test and English skills such as TOEIC, conversation, writing, etc. and to deal with the performance of the on-the-job practice, internship, project participation, graduation exhibition, contest exhibition, etc. during the period of attendance at school, This system is divided into the server module and the client one. First, the server module is used to build up the web site of the CMS that can serve to save the data related to each student's career. Second, the client module is to develop the application based on the Android Platform. This application can easily access the career-related information and always function as maintaining and managing the new data. If we make good use of the CMS proposed in this study, the relevant departments and bureaus in colleges and universities can activate the service capacity and also enhance the employment competitiveness by adding value to the students.
