  • One of the challenges of the digital forensics is how to handle certain amounts of data efficiently. Although reliable and various approximate matching algorithms have been presented to quickly identify similarities between digital objects, its practical effectiveness to identify the semantic similarity is low because of frequent false positives. To solve this problem, we suggest adding a pre-processing of the approximate matching target dataset to increase matching accuracy while maintaining the reliability of the approximate matching algorithm. To verify the effectiveness, we experimented with two datasets of eml and hwp using sdhash in order to identify the semantic similarity.

  • An electro-hydraulic actuator (EHA) is widely used in industrial motion systems and the increasing bandwidth of EHA position control is important issue. The model-inverse feedforward controller is known to extend the bandwidth of system. When the system has non-minimum phase (NMP) zeros, direct model inversion makes system unstable. To overcome this problem, an approximate model-inverse method is used. A representative approximate model inversion method is zero phase error tracking control (ZPETC). However, if zeros locate right half plane of z-plane, the approximate inverse model amplifies the high-frequency response. In this paper, to solve the problem of ZPETC, an adaptive model-inverse control is proposed. The adaptive algorithm updates feedforward term in real-time. The effectiveness of the proposed adaptive model-inverse position control strategy is verified by comparison with typical proportional-integral (PI) control and feedforward control by experiments. As a result, the proposed adaptive controller extends the bandwidth of EHA position control.

  • The propagation and associated run-up process of nearshore tsunamis in the vicinity of shorelines have been analyzed by using a two-dimensional numerical model. The governing equations of the model are the nonlinear shallow-water equations. They are discretized explicitly by using a finite volume method and the numerical fluxes are reconstructed with a HLLC approximate Riemann solver and weighted averaged flux method. The model is applied to two problems; The first problem deals with water surface oscillations, while the second one simulates the propagation and subsequent run-up process of nearshore tsunamis. Predicted results have been compared to available analytical solutions and laboratory measurements. A very good agreement has been observed.

  • Many studies have been performed to predict a reliable and accurate stress-range distribution and fatigue damage regarding the Gaussian wide-band stress response due to multi-peak waves and multiple dynamic loads. So far, most of the approximation models provide slightly inaccurate results in comparison with the rain-flow counting method as an exact solution. A step-by-step study was carried out to develop new approximate spectral moments that are close to the rain-flow counting moment, which can be used for the development of a fatigue damage model. Using the special parameters and bandwidth parameters, four kinds of parameter-based combinations were constructed and estimated using the R-squared values from regression analysis. Based on the results, four candidate empirical formulas were determined and compared with the rain-flow counting moment, probability density function, and root mean square (RMS) value for relative distance. The new approximate spectral moments were finally decided through comparison studies of eight response spectra. The new spectral moments presented in this study could play an important role in improving the accuracy of fatigue damage model development. The present study shows that the new approximate moment is a very important variable for the enhancement of Gaussian wide-band fatigue damage assessment.

  • This paper deals with the problem of predicting censored data in a half triangle distribution with an unknown parameter based on progressively Type-II censored samples. We derive maximum likelihood predictors and some approximate maximum likelihood predictors of censored failure times in a progressively Type-II censoring scheme. In addition, we construct the shortest-length predictive intervals for censored failure times. Finally, Monte Carlo simulations are used to assess the validity of the proposed methods.

  • In general tile evaluation process of rock slope stability is an ambiguous system which is made up of ideas subjected to practical experience of an expert. This paper aims to propose more effective methods that helps engineers to evaluate the stability of rock slope by using RMR(Rock Mass Rating for the Geomechanics Classification) and Stereo-graphic Projection and Fuzzy Approximate Reasoning Concept. the result of this paper is that a rational evaluation of rock slope stability and countermeasures can be achieved thorough RMR. and Stereo-graphic Projection and Fuzzy Approximate Reasoning Concept.

  • We derive some approximate maximum likelihood estimators(AMLEs) and maximum likelihood estimator(MLE) of the scale parameter in the half-triangle distribution based on progressively Type-II censored samples. We compare the proposed estimators in the sense of the mean squared error for various censored samples. We also obtain the approximate maximum likelihood estimators of the reliability function using the proposed estimators. We compare the proposed estimators in the sense of the mean squared error.

  • The main aim of this paper is to discuss the difference between the Euler-Maruyama's approximate solutions and the accurate solution to stochastic differential delay equation. To make the theory more understandable, we impose the non-uniform Lipschitz condition and weakened linear growth condition. Furthermore, we give the pth moment continuous of the approximate solution for the delay equation.
