  • Comparison 3-port servo system with 4-port is made to obtain optimal design for heavy and unidirectional hydraulic system, It is concluded that 3-port servo system it more adequate than 4-port for the heavy load system which is usually operated at lower frequencies. High performance electro-hydraulic position controller is designed using 3-port servo valve. It includes dynamic pressure feedback as a inner loop and position feedback as a outer loop.

Comparative Studies on Ports Management System in Northeast Countries

  • Purpose - The purpose of paper is to review and look into the process of port development of each country, and compare with their system of port management. Research design, data and methodology - The methods to be taken is to examine a process of port development in terms of historic and regulated point of views, and each country's port is compared with various port models. Results - China has evolved of port governance into 3 stages, which has lead to almost liberalized port management system in process of privatization slogan. Japan has three stages of port development, and key commitments have been done by local government, rather than national one. Korea has also several stages of port reforms, and national government has been deeply involved in port industry, as well as regional government and port authority in certain areas. Conclusions - whatever port management system each countries has taken, it eventually aims to port productivity in country's port. To adopt most proper port management system may be answer for country to cope with environmental changes around port industry.

지방화시대의 항만공사 도입과 활성화 방안 (Introduction of Port Authority and Activation Schemes in the Age of Localization)

  • Localization is one of the typical phenomena of this age in Korea. Localization of Port is on the beginning in this Country as the introduction of Port Authority in the Port of Busan and Incheon. As the condition of world trade has been changed, the level of Competition among Ports is severer than before, especially in the East Asia Area. Since many experts of Port say that centralized control system of Port has many Problems, some other Port Control system has been studied and suggested for long time. One of the Countermeasures of these Port Problems is Port Authority System which aims the balance of central and local development. Port Authority System does not want to achieve only Public Duty or Utility but also Commerciality which is fundamentally very important for the survival of Port. In this Paper, the necessities of Port Authority Introduction in Korea was explained. And Port Authority System will be introduced 2004 year in Busan Port firstly and Incheon Port, secondly. The Main Contents of Port Authority System was suggested , in this Paper and some Problems which shall be considered for better operation of Port Authority System was investigated. I suggested some countermeasures, endeavoring the competitive advantage of Port and higher Port Performance, in terms of 3 Dimensions. One is in the side of basic Policy Directions, the other is the activation schemes of functional department which composed of many activities of Port Authority System and the third is in the side of operation body. As this paper, however, has some limitations and Port Authority System is just beginning stage, future research shall be continued in real and concrete level.

DSRC 기반의 T/C 무선통신 시스템 개발 (Wireless Communication System for T/C based on DSRC)

  • In this paper, we proposed the model of wireless communication for ACTS using DSRC and the DSRC system for T/C. The proposed wireless communication model is how to join with DSRC and other wireless communication in port. The DSRC system for T/C is the first application to the unit of port Facilities Automation on stacking area. The DSRC system is communicated between OBE and RSE using 5.8Hz ISM band frequency. The previous works of DSRC applications are gate automation. In these cases, the road trackers are difficult to obtain information of the port in the stacking area. So we used the DSRC for the wireless communication for the port Facilities Automation. Using DSRC, the load trackers obtain more information in the port and contacts to ITS on back-roads of port. The proposed communication system is serviced to reelection of port statistics.

  • In this study, ER fluids were working fluid and yield shear stress of attained dispersive ER fluids made by analyzed to adapt effectively at the practical equipment like three port ER valve. In addition, movement of ER particle was observed by using a microscope the same as the strength of electric field with Bingham characteristic. Basis material was presented to develop 3 port ER-Valve by quantitatively comparing and analyzing entrance, load and outlet flow's differences of 3 port rectangular tubes. This study, after designing and producing the 3port ER-Valve, considered the characteristic of pressure drop, outlet and load flow rate by changing the strength of electric field on ER fluids flowing between electrodes.

항만기술인력의 교육제도 개선방안 (A Study on the Education System of Port Labor in Pusan Port)

  • The productivity of port labor in Pusan port is very low and the ratio of port accident is high in comparision with other advanced foreign ports. The aim of this paper is to find why the productivity in Pusan port is much lower than that of other countries in terms of port labor education systems. To obtain the objective of this study, the writers used 163 questionnaire for port labor in BCTOC, PECT and UTC for the survey of training method of cargo equipment handling. The result of this study shows as follows; (1) From the fact that ratio of labor who were trained by KPTI was 2.5%, we could say the public training system of port labor is not operated properly (2) As most of laborers are trained by the experienced associate, they do not recognize how the level of cargo handling equipment is set to increase the productivity. (3) In order that the port public training system plays a good role in port industry, a new license system should be introduced and an expert education system should be developed.

  • This paper's purpose obtain information of three dimension using a camera. This system embody to know the height of object using triangle method between reference point of circumstance and object. As I use java program, it is possible to make system regardless of operating system, set up the system. By using comportable USB port camera, we used to everywhere without the capture board. We can use the internet by using the java's JMF and applet everywhere, we regard the camera as fixed.

목포항 운송시스템의 분석에 관한 연구 (On the Analysis of Transportation System in Mokpo Port)

  • Rapid change in the technological environment of marine transportation and the development of the ocean shipping industry have fostered a revolution in the port system. This in turn has caused major changes in the function and use of port in Korea. Aside from this. Mokpo Port, however continues to decline, because the existing port facilities and related subsystem are already obsolete with no chance of regaining operational effectiveness and treatment for proper implementation. Although a few studies have been done on the Mokpo Port, has not been found, any reseach for the analytical approach to the transportation system of it. This paper aims to make an extensive analysis of the physical distribution system in Mokpo Port focusing on the coordination of subsystems such as navigational aids system, quay handling and transfer system, storage system and inland transport system. The base of introduced simulation tool here is the queueing theory. The overall findings are as follows; 1. Among those vessels called at Mokpo Port in 1994, the average size of oceangoing vessels is 4,922.1 G/T, and the domestic is 317.8 G/T. The average arrival interval and service time of the domestic vessels are 6.0 hours and 24.1 hours respectively marking the berth occupation rate over 100%. Those for oceangoing vessels are 34.5 hours, 120.0 hours and 37.2%. In order to maintainin the berth occupation rate to 70% the capacity considering the 1994 of domestic piers must be extended to 145% and oceangoing vessels must be increased to 165% year called. 2. The capacity of approaching channel is enough to handle the total traffic volume. 3. Tugs are sufficiently being provided to handle all ships requiring their services 4. The capacity of storage and inland transportation systems are sufficient to handle the throughput and the yard stroage utilization rate of No.1 $\cdots$ No.5 is 4.5% and No.6 1S 30% of 1993's. 5. The utilization rate of LLc(Level Looping Crane) and PNT(PNeumaTic) are 2.7% and 18.8%, respectively. Practical solution and proposal for improvement of Transportation System in Mokpo Port are as follows; 1. To avoid the congestion in domestic pier introduction of a new port operation system is necessary allowing the domestic vessel to use the oceangoing pier. 2. To establish the port management information system to improve the efficiency of port operation. 3. To build a new storage system for high valued cargos including modernization of the present storage and handling system. 4. To insure the safety of navigation in approaching channel, The Vessel Traffic System including separation scheme is introduced. 5. To interest enormously on public relation to ship owner's association, shippers and consignees by showing that they can save cost and ship turnaround time in order to promote the call to Mokpo Port. At last, to be strategically change the function of Mokpo Port to the Leisure, Fishing & Ferry as well as Maritime port.

항만 유형별 정보시스템 (Port Information System For Port Authority)

  • 항만정보시스템의 기능과 항만유형과는 관련성이 있는 것일까? 본 연구에서는 선진항만들의 유형과 정보시스템 기능 분석을 통하여 관련성을 규명하고자 하였다. 항만들은 자산의 소유와 운영의 주체에 따라 국유제, 공영자치제, 지방자치제(지방정부자치제) 및 사유제의 4가지로 유형으로 구분된다. 유형에 따른 항만들의 주요활동도 달라진다. 국유제와 지방자치제의 경우는 행정처리 기능에 중점을 두고 있는 반면, 공영자치제와 사유제는 고객서비스 강화에 중점을 두고 있다. 항만의 유형과 정보시스템과의 상관관계를 조사한 결과 국유제, 지방자치제 항만에는 업무처리 중심의 시스템이 발달하여 있으며, 사유제 및 공영자치제 항만에는 고객서비스를 최우선으로 하는 커뮤니티 시스템과 e-Business 시스템이 발달되어 있었다. 항만유형별 정보시스템의 차이는 부산항만정보시스템의 개선에 시사점을 던져주고 있다. 그동안 국유제 항만으로서 운영되던 부산항이 공영자치제 유형의 운영방식으로 변경됨에 따라 항만정보시스템도 추세에 따라 개선되어야 한다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 방법으로 3단계 방법을 제안하였다. 제 1단계가 미러링(Mirroring) 단계로서 항만운영을 안정화시키는 단계이며, 제 2단계에서는 커뮤니티 시스템을 구축하여 고객의 서비스를 제고시키는 협업화 단계로 설정하였으며, 제 3단계는 부가가치창출을 위한 수익형 시스템을 개발하는 e-Business 개발단계로 설정하였다.

항만공사제도의 효율적 운영방안 - 인천항만공사를 중심으로 - (Strategies for the Efficient Management of the Port Authority System in Korea: Focused on Incheon Port Authority)

  • In order to improve inefficient and unproductive factors and in response to criticisms of the failure in harbor privatization introduced in 1997, the Korean government introduced the Port Authority system, which is commonly adopted in advanced harbors in the world. This research examined the theoretical background of harbor management system and various cases of harbor management in foreign countries. The desirable introduction of Port Authority system must be preceded by the settlement of problems in harbor structure and operation. In addition, the Port Authority Act, which restricts the autonomy of harbor corporations, should be improved for user-centered Port Authority system. Strategies for the successful introduction of Incheon Port Authority are as follows. Firstly it is required to establish consumer-centered harbor operation system. The second requirement is to activate the harbor logistics industry through the development of nearby logistic complexes led by Port Authority and, by doing so, to promote the development of local economy. Thirdly it is essential to lay the foundation of mutual prosperity through developing profitable businesses by linking localities and harbors, and to suggest a crisis control network for Port Authority and local self-governing bodies to cope jointly with crises in logistics and natural disasters.
